Ever been curious about the facts and fails of the town you're living in? The following are interesting Capeside facts and fictions. • Capeside was one of the first towns created when America was first colonized. It has a rich history, and full of many stories of the past. Many places in town are said to be haunted; the witch caves near the beach, the woods out of town, and the old court house. Half of the town hall has been renovated and is used today, but the lower level has been turned into a museum of sorts. The old town court room set up as it was in the eighteenth century, complete with wax models depicting a trial that ended in the defendant hanging himself outside of the court house. It is his ghost that is said to haunt the building. • Capeside was once a popular fishing and trade port, earning it's strong economy from business, however as trade by boats dwindled, the town started to fall into a slump. It has only been in the last thirty years that it has started to regain money, now relying on it's strong tourism pull. Who wouldn't want to visit the beautiful, richly historic town? Only a few hours from Boston. • In the early nineteen eighties, Capeside was home to the soap opera 'For Better or For Beach'. While most of it was filmed on a sound stage, externals were all shot on location about the town. The soap never did well though, and was cancelled halfway into the second season. • People, mostly young kids, have been led to believe the basement door in the back room of the ice cream shop is actually the entrance to a largely populated vampire coven. The story is completely untrue, but for the most part the employees are too scared to move the heavy barrels from the door. • People have fallen off the cliffs.
