PLOT
Andrew has never had the best luck with love. While he is a hopeless romantic, nothing ever seems to work out too well with him. His longest relationship was with his ex-girlfriend, Penelope, and she cheated on him with his best friend. Ever since then, he feels as though his heart has been shattered into a million pieces. So recently, he has taken up protecting his heart. It's been great so far, but then he meets Lucy.
Lucy has gone through some difficulties. Her parents divorced and she witnessed all the fights between the two. Since then, she hasn't believed in love and wouldn't talk about love until she figured out that maybe there is such things as love. Her past relationships have been based off of lust and nothing more, and Lucy really just wants to find love. She pushes men away all the time whenever she feels an emotional attachment growing.
One day, she and Andrew run into each other...literally. She spills her coffee on him and instead of flipping out, Andrew begins to tell her its no big deal. Lucy offers to buy him another coffee, even though she is content with loneliness, and he accepts. The coffee date goes excellent and the two exchange numbers. Yet because of their separate histories, neither one is willing to take a step forward and risk everything. Lucy doesn't want her heart to be broken. She calls him randomly for dinner, and when they go out, they have the best time ever. Lucy, however, cannot make this an official relationship. They haven't even kissed because Andrew is afraid of scaring her off and becoming lonely again. He knows that something must have happened in her childhood, yet doesn't want to push the issue.
Yet, Andrew is beginning to fall for Lucy. She's beautiful, smart, clever, and everything he has ever wanted. Lucy is in the same boat. She's beginning to believe that love can exist and maybe she could take a chance with Andrew. Yet, in the back of her mind, she is concerned that maybe love doesn't exsist and will be disappointed in the end.
