-- GRAHAM CHARLES HARRIS !
-- NAME: graham charles harris -- NICKNAMES: grey, charlie, harris, harry, graham cracker etc. -- AGE & BIRTHDAY: twenty one, -- BIRTH PLACE: London, England -- ORIENTATION: hetrosexual -- OCCUPATION & SCHOOL GRADE: bartender/university senior majoring in English -- PLAYED BY: harry treadaway
-- PERSONALITY !
-- HIGHLY INTELLIGENT: Graham is highly intelligent, like three points away from being a literal genius. He’s never struggled much in school and that’s probably a good thing considering how many times he was shuffled around England. If he wasn’t so smart he probably wouldn’t have graduated high school let alone gone to college. Being good at school is all fine and good but were Graham comes from having street smarts is far more important and he has that in spades. He can be extremely manipulative if he wants to be and can figure out how to get just about anything with absolutely nothing. He can also hot wire a car in about 60 seconds… give or take, he’s clever, cunning and believes in the wonderful gray areas in life. Most of all though, he’s terribly hard to fool and isn’t one that’s usually vulnerable to manipulation or getting ripped off. He uses common sense which is more than he can say for most people. He often can come off as slow and stupid sometimes though, he's a total spaz when he's on cocaine and loses all brain activity. -- DISTRUSTING: Growing up in foster care doesn’t tend to instill one with trust and in Graham’s case it did the very opposite. Instead he’s very distrusting. He’s been let down a lot over the years, been hurt a lot. He’d been to nine different foster homes by the time he was fifteen and in all cases it have been because he “screwed up” somehow. When your own mother doesn't care that you're being taken away from her you’re bound to believe the worst of people. When people do nice things for him he tends to believe they want something in return and unfortunately he’s usually right, but there are those rare kind strangers that he ends up just insulting by his suspicious tendencies. -- MELANCHOLY: Happiness isn’t something Graham does well, it’s just hasn’t really been in the cards for him. He does have his moments; I won’t say he’s a constant Eeyore or anything though he does kind of give off that Eeyore vibe sometimes. Generally though, he’s not going to be the type that genuinely smiles a lot, he may force a smile for courtesy's sake, which is was he cause a courtesy smile or laugh depending on which on he’s utilizing. He’s had issues and fallen into the wrong crowds in the past the type that claim they except you’re not happy all the time and then encourage you to kill yourself or hurt yourself. Those types. He’s not happy, but maybe someday he can be, course he doesn’t think so, in fact he often wonders why he doesn’t just leave, he wonders what’s keeping him here.
-- EASILY ANNOYED: The boy often finds himself confused and annoyed by people and their behavior and seemingly lack of common sense. He’s a big believer in common sense and it’s probably his biggest pet peeve when people don’t use it. Generally he had a pretty short fuse for stupidity in overall, which means he’s not the best with children most of the time, they’re too dirty for him, he’s a bit of a neat freak, obsessively so. Mess annoys him, people annoy him, children annoy him (probably because they’re just small people, shocker), he’s annoyed easily, which causes him to be a bit stand offish for the most part and him being stand offish can come off as rude, also rolling his eyes at ninety percent of what someone’s saying comes off as rude.
-- LOVES: cleaning supplies, sanitation, pecan pie, coffee, cocaine, cigarettes, drinking, animals, reading, writing, photography, his camera, laptops, ice cream, swimming, biking, running, dr. pepper, trifle, apple crumble, bread and butter pudding, tea, hot chocolate, creative mediums and of course the standards, movies, music, etc.
-- HATES: mess, annoying people, those who don’t use common sense, cocaine, when people try to correct him when he knows he’s right, drunk people (unless he’s drunk), when people try to fix him, Shepard’s pie, animal cruelty, hypocrites, foster care, being unhappy, when people ask him about his scars, when people ask him about his time in foster care, at least ninety percent of the population.
-- HISTORY !
Graham Charles Harris was born in London, England to a woman who walked with grace and spoke with a voice like bells and that was how he likes to remember her. Her name was Fiona Harris and she’d been knocked up at sixteen by her much older boyfriend – a boyfriend that promptly left her the moment he found out she was pregnant. Fiona was no stranger to working hard though, a work hard she did, she was a great mother to baby Graham, doing it all on her own even his birth was just her holding a strangers hand. When Graham turned five though, everything changed. Fiona met Dale a very wealthy drug dealer, the two started up a relationship and within weeks Fiona was hooked on crack cocaine. At five years old Graham didn’t understand why his mother was different, only that she was different. Of course living with two crack addicts wasn’t a healthy way for a kid to grow up, but as Dale Drug Empire fell apart when Graham was six he became violent and of course what make a better punching bag for a cracked out loser, but someone who couldn’t fight back.
Social services were called soon after he entered into Primary School, he’d often show up bathed but with dirty clothes on. He knew how to take a bath and knew it was something you were supposed to do, but obviously he didn’t know how to wash his clothes. Of course there was no denying that a five year old didn’t get that many bruises from being clumsy. Needless to say at the age of five Graham was taken away from his mother due to her addiction and the abuse that he was exposed to in the household. In Foster care he learned that there were more types of people in the world than colors of the rainbow. He had horrible foster parents and he had decent foster parents it was a mixed bag, he just thankful he never got a pervert like some of the other kids.
As Graham got older he began to act out and cause a lot of trouble and even hurt himself, Graham would stay in foster care for another eleven years, before the lovely George would come along. During his teen years he often had inappropriate relations with his foster mothers and that caused him to distrust women’s motherly intuition for the most part and made him come to the conclusion, people only want teenagers for one of two reasons, a play thing or a baby sitter. At the age of fifteen a woman who would later save his life walked into his life, her name was Georgia and she wanted to be his foster mother. She insisted he call her George since she never like the name Georgia. She was a beautiful brunette woman, who moved with grace and had a voice like morbid bells. He loved her instantly, but of course his distrusting ways caused him to wonder what she’d want in return. After all he always said single women don’t take in teenage boys because they want to be mommies. George did though and she wanted to give one of the kids who didn’t have much of a chance to be adopted a loving home.
George would spark his love of music and most importantly his love of percussion, Graham always had a lot of pent up anger and banging it out on a drum kit seemed like a healthy thing to do. At seventeen he was already a great drummer because he practiced constantly almost to the point of driving George mad. As he got better at drumming, his depression also started to sky rocket. Graham entered into a band, picked up a nasty admiration for cocaine and began playing underground shows and that would be where he met the lovely and toxic Sarah. Sarah was a beautiful, outgoing and charming. The type of girl that seemed to have it all, her parents were wealthy, but there was one shocking truth about Sarah that caused her to get along quite well with Graham – she wanted to kill herself.
The two of them dated for over a little over a year and would talk for hours about how they would do it (kill themselves) falling for each other or so he thought. They finally decided they were going to do it together. Three days before he and Sarah had planned to end it all Sarah went AWOL and George who still hadn’t shown her true intentions got the papers for adopting Graham. She was going to ask for his permission that night. Everything hit the fan that day, he’d attempted to slit his wrists, but George interrupted and tried to stop him, though he was hysterical and ended up accidentally cutting her with the knife. Do to the fact that he’d hurt someone else and his self-harming ways had come into the light, Graham was sectioned under section 2 of the Mental Health Act, meaning he had to stay in a mental health facility for four months. After he was released George was afraid Sarah would show up again and turn everything upside down.
So, George who was born and raised in Capeside Massachusetts finally asked Graham if she could adopt him (she needed his consent because he was over eighteen at that point) and he said yes, George was the best foster parent he’d ever had and she treated him well even after he accidently hurt her she still wanted him in her life for some reason. Graham began to think of George as a mother figure, George paid for him to got to University and bought him his first camera, laptop and his very own drum kit. Plus she was also the only person who could put up with his obsessive cleaning. Graham still plans to end his life, but not right now. He still plays drums and would prefer for that to be his life’s work, but one never knows as of right now he's bandless and in college working at a bar.
