[atrb=border,1,true][atrb=width,300,true] Sam was a normally pretty laid back, chill guy. You had to really make him extremely angry to get him as upset as he was at this very moment. It didn't happen as often as you might expect from the nineteen year old boy, at the way he really blew when he got upset enough. And why was he so angry, you are probably wondering? Why, because no one bothered to tell him that his sister was rediagnosed with cancer, and now she had a relapse and was in the hospital and it was not looking very good. And he wasn't mad at her, he could never be angry at her for this, it wasn't her fault. It was everyone else, like he couldn't handle it or even that he wasn't a big enough part of the family to even tell about it. It was heartbreaking, seeing her in the hospital when no one bothered to tell him until it had happened. He started to flip out completely at the hospital, and when his father calmly told him to cool off, he was making a scene, that had been the last straw. He literally punched his own father in the face and then paused, horrified with himself, and then ran off in the other direction. He'd never actually hit anyone before. Let alone his dad. He wasn't really sure what to do with himself.
He'd nearly beaten up his own car in his haste to get out of there, but one way or another he'd made it out of the hospital alive, taken a long very fast drive, and ended up at a bar, of all places. And Sam hated bars. He was that guy at a party, (that you'd have had to force him to go to) he would toss the drink over his shoulder and pretend that he'd drunk it. He didn't know what led him to the bar. He was just so angry and he just wanted to forget everything. So to the bar he went. It was lucky that he'd had his fake id with him (which he'd had made a few years ago for voting, of all things) and he got in quickly enough. He'd managed to get a few gulps of a drink down before one way or another he'd gotten into a fight. An actual, drawn out barfight. Sam never thought he'd even ever witness a bar fight, much less partake in one, but he wasn't even sure of how it had come around. One minute he was sitting there ranting his anger to this girl who looked slightly sympathetic and the next moment some guy was jumping on him telling him to lay off his girl or something. Before Sam could tell him that he wasn't doing anything to his girl, he'd started wailing on him, and Sam, more or less, reciprocated.
It hadn't taken very long before someone called the cops, and though Sam was yelling about how the other guy initiated it, even though it was really not important if he thought about it, but he wasn't thinking about anything, at the moment. After a while, he cooled off a little, and then he just sat there, sullen and silent. Finally, he got his one phone call, and having no one else to call, because obviously he couldn't call his family, they'd find out eventually and he was too angry to talk to them right now, he called Avia. Probably one of the stupidest things he'd ever done, but he didn't know who else would come and get him. He got her voicemail, and he wasn't really sure if she'd ignored it or just hadn't been around, but he left her a message anyway, telling her nothing but that he was at the police station and he needed her to come get him. He'd probably have to tell her sooner or later anyway. Once she got there and saw his busted lip and bloody knuckles, along with all the other tell-tale signs of a fight, if she didn't put two and two together, she'd probably annoy the information out of her. If she even showed up, that is. He wasn't really sure what he would do if she didn't come after all.
He sat there in the cell, his head tilted back, his eyes wide open as he stared up at the ceiling, his hands in his lap, feeling more desolate than ever. How did he manage to do all of this in one night? It was like a scene from a poorly directed movie, but casted all wrong. Samson would have never imagined this to ever happen to him of all people. But that stupid temper of his always seemed to get in the way somehow or other, it seemed.

there's a fire starting in my heart reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] ROLLING IN THE DEEP !
The police station wasn’t really somewhere that Avia Alderidge usually frequented but today that was where she was, on a very strange errand. To backtrack a little Avia lived in the college halls of residence and her room-mate was named Sam. On a good day the two exchanged minimal words, if you were really lucky they’d have a trivial conversation about the weather or homework, but with them it was usually constant bickering. Sometimes it started because Samson would say something and Avia would feel the need to correct it or belittle it, but most of the time it was just because Avia fancied picking a fight, and Sam was a sitting target. The blonde was a rather bitchy person at the best of times and for some reason Sam seemed to bring the worst out in her. He was the kind of person she despised but then there were those moments that Avia forgot to hate him, and she found herself really liking him. Avia acted her way through life, she put on a front so people would think she was thick-skinned and after a while it just sort of became who she was. There were moments when she let her guard down and if you were watching you’d see the real Avia peek through, someone who had a tendency to be compassionate, the problem was, when you started telling people you were a bitch to the core it didn’t take long until they believed it, and then there was no going back. She did regret it, especially when she got into silly fights with Blair, Avia wondered what it would be like to have a real family, one who cared for one another. She didn’t know how everyone would react if something bad happened to one of them, she’d like to think that the hard surface would break away but she couldn’t be sure.
She’d been writing a new song when Sam had called and so she’d rolled her eyes and pushed the phone away, not wanting him to ruin her mood and therefore the song. She wasn’t really bothered about where he was, she loved having the space to herself and she assumed he was probably off with his geeky friends. Once she’d got the voice-mail she’d gone straight to the station, and that was where she was stood at that moment. She’d only been at the station twice before, the first time was on one of those scare tactic trips, her parents had brought her to show her what would happen to her if she didn’t learn to obey the rules. The other time she’d been there was to report one of her exes of abuse, it hadn’t been anything major, just an argument that had escalated and left Avia with a black eye and bruised arms but the girl had plucked up the courage and reported him. She’d never told her parents though, or anyone for that matter, she’d crafted some elaborate story, the precise details of which no-one can probably remember. When people thought about Avia it was unlikely that any would mention her acting ability, in fact it’d be rare that they mentioned anything positive but if they did it would be her singing and songwriting. Avia had never ‘acted’ in the true sense of the word but throughout life she often made up her own stories.
Avia was always pretty careful about what she wore, she didn’t like to leave the flat looking short of perfect but today she wouldn’t have rated her outfit very highly, in fact she’d probably be sick if she thought about it for very long. She was wearing jean shorts and pink converses but on her top half she wore a slightly oversized turquoise hoodie that read ‘The Miller School of Dance’ across the back, along with her name. Her hair was normal, just down and slightly wavy, she hadn’t really done anything with it, she’d planned to spend all day locked in her room writing her music, but that had been turned on it’s head. She walked into the station past a group of officers sitting having coffee and one wolf whilsted while another asked if she’d dance for them. She wasn’t sure what it was about her but no matter what she wore sleezy guys hit on Avia. She knew she was a pretty girl but she also knew that there were tons of other girls that didn’t receive the treatment she did, it probably had something to do with how she reacted. The blonde turned around and gave the officers a wink before blowing them a kiss and heading to the desk that she assumed she needed to be at. She mentioned Samson’s name and asked if she would need to post bail and then the woman set about doing what she needed to free the boy that Avia was there to collect.

[atrb=border,1,true][atrb=width,300,true] Lucky enough, Sam didn't have to wait quite as long as he had thought he would for his roommate to come pick him up. He was really just glad that she came at all. Even though when she came, and the guard went up to let Sam out of his cell, he grinned and said "Your girlfriend's here." And Sam glared at him for a good five seconds before standing up. "She is not my girlfriend." He growled in return as he stalked past him. However, the guard only laughed and allowed him to. You could only imagine how sullen Samson's face was as he eventually approached the front desk towards his roommate, who was surprisingly underdressed. Most of the time she was dressed to the nines no matter where she was going, and to see her in public wearing a hoodie and shorts was a refreshing sight to see. She never cared what she looked like in the dorm, of course, because Sam was so far below her socially it didn't matter how he saw her. Except naked. She would probably freak out and possibly murder him if he ever saw her naked. But that was a different story entirely.
Sam kind of stopped and looked her over quietly for a moment, considering the considerably dressed-down-in-public outfit, and then shuffled forward anyway. "Thanks for coming to get me." He muttered, more grateful than you would imagine with the way he stared at his feet instead of her face like he usually would when he was talking to her, because with as many disrespectful habits as he had, he almost always looked people in the eye when he was talking to them. He looked back to the woman at the desk, who briefly gave them an overview of what he'd need to do. Only half listening, Sam flashed a halfhearted crooked smile and nodded to make it seem like he was understanding everything that she was saying when really she might as well be speaking a different language. However, it seemed to appease her, as she smiled back and vaguely he wondered if she often had to deal with miscreants like himself. This probably wasn't the time to feel good about himself, but he would like to imagine that he was probably one of the most calmest and quietest miscreants she came across, especially when he was arrested for assault or disturbing the peace or whatever he was arrested for, he wasn't really sure, he wasn't paying attention.
But sooner or later they managed to get everything all settled and they were on their way, Sam's sore hands shoved in his pockets and staring at his shoes, trying to avoid eye contact because if eye contact was made then questions were more likely to be asked. His eye was throbbing as they started to walk towards the car and his lip started bleeding again, and he reached up and pressed on it in an attempt to stop the bleeding, making a disgusted face, trying not to spit but not to swallow it either and it wasn't really working either way, so finally he just made it to a trashcan and spit the blood out, poking at his lip to see if it was still bleeding. Which of course it was, and he curled his upper lip and spat again. "Sorry," He said almost clearly, so he didn't entirely disgust poor Avia behind him, but he couldn't help it if his lip was bleeding. Well, when you think about it, he kind of could have prevented it in the first place, but after that, really, he'd have no control over his lip bleeding or not.
