words // 374 // outfit // here // tagged // nikki as blair say what you mean, tell me I'M RIGHT, AND LET THE SUN RAIN DOWN ON ME, GIVE ME A SIGN School sucked. This was but a sad but true fact in Rebecca Wilder's life. see, Bex hated school. Well, technically, she loved school, she just hated the sitting in a class listening to people talk about things you'd never want to hear in a million years part. Everything else was tolerable, however. However, Bex was a part of the "popular" clique, so she was probably biased. No one but teachers and Flick told her what to do, and she could deal with Flick just fine, she respected Flick. But the teacher part was never really her forte. The only teachers she would tolerate were either the ones that had managed to win over her respect or the hot young males. Which apparently, only very rarely appeared in Capeside, unfortunately for her. But the very best part of every school day, she was not going to lie, was the end. When she was finally free to go and do whatever she possibly wanted to do. Which usually wasn't much unless she'd been plotting something all day, and this particular day, she hadn't.
So as she left the building and searched the grounds with her big brown eyes in an attempt to find something to do, she noticed a head of blonde curls headed in the opposite direction and with a crooked grin, Bex secured her bag and trotted after her. "Hey, B, wait up!" She called, throwing an arm around her friend's shoulder in a comfortable gesture. "I feel like we haven't talked in so long." Even though they'd already talked this morning, which proved that Bex was up to something, but honestly, she just didn't want to go home to her father at this moment, she was still mad at him for everything and things were just a tad messy all around. And hopefully, Blair wouldn't ask too many questions. Honestly, Bex loved her, but she didn't want to tell anyone about what was going on with her father right now, it would not only ruin him, but her as well, and she really wasn't looking forward to it. She'd just have to think of something or other to do about it, she couldn't just keep blackmailing her own father for forever. .. Could she?

and let's face it, WHO ISN'T LESS FORTUNATE THAN I? |
[/div] He was angry at her. Blair glared at the text message. He was angry that she hadn't called to let him know she wasn’t coming to see him during her free period. How dare he get so angry. He’d ditched her without even so much as text before and now he had the hide to have a go at her? If that was anyone else, she’d have told them where to go ages ago.. But with him... She just couldn’t. She also couldn’t handle him being mad at her. Biting on her lip, painted fingernails typed a quick apology and a promise that later she’d make it up to him. Hoping that would be enough to sedate him, Blair pushed send and slipped her phone back into her pocket. He was with her sister right now anyway so he wouldn’t have it out with Blair. God. How messed up was the situation?
Hearing her name, Blair cleared all thoughts of her sister’s boyfriend from her mind and looked up, glancing around to see who had said her name. Seeing Bex, the blonde pulled a large smile onto her lips and slowed her pace. That’s exactly what she needed, a friend to distract her from her tragic love life. Once the other girl had reached her, Blair slipped her arm around the brunette’s middle, snuggling her face into her shoulder for a minute. “Hi baby.” Leaning up, she pressed a kiss to her best friend’s cheek. “I know what you mean, I barely saw you today and it’s sad, because I totally need my Bex to be happy.” Giving her friend a Squeeze she started walking again, slower this time. “How was your day? Better than my shitty one I hope.” TAGGED: BEX WORD COUNT: 290 NOTES: SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG BABY [/div]

[/blockquote]

words // 290 // outfit // here // tagged // nikki as blair say what you mean, tell me I'M RIGHT, AND LET THE SUN RAIN DOWN ON ME, GIVE ME A SIGN Bex was relieved that Blair didn't seem suspicious of her bounding up and confessing that she missed her. She just grinned again as Blair agreed with her and told her that she needed her Bex to make her happy. "Aww." Bex said, side-hugging her friend tightly for a second. "Well, I'm here now!" She raised her eyebrows as she looked at her friend, tilting her head slightly to the side as they began to walk again. Blair seemed sadder than usual, somehow, but Rebecca wasn't entirely sure how. "My day." Bex repeated, staring off to the side for a minute and pursing her lips. "Well, I've had better, I've had worse. What's going on? I mean, any particular reason, do I need to beat someone up, or..?" She asked in a teasing but almost worried tone.
Now, contrary to popular belief, Bex was not entirely snide or heartless, she really did care about her best friends, and she did want to know what was going on with them and why they were upset when they were. And the thought didn't even occur to her that Blair had her own secrets and she might not want to tell Bex about them, she only considered that her friend seemed upset and that was all that mattered at the moment to the young woman. She probably could or should have considered it, but she'd never really thought of her friends hiding things from her the way that she hid things from them. Her head hurt when she thought about it. But that was beside the point anyway. The point was that she was trying to make her bestie feel better, as well as she could.

[/div] Perhaps had she not needed a distraction herself, Blair might have found her best friend’s (well, one of her best friends at least) behaviour odd. Not that Bex wasn’t normally friendly or loving or anything like that. On the contrary, Bex could be rather lovely to those she cared about and Blair knew that she most definitely one of those people. It had more to do with the fact that they had only seen each other that morning, which wasn’t such a long time. Oh well, Blair was happy to play along with whatever it was that Bex was doing. She’d find out soon enough anyway. If Bex didn’t tell her outright, Blair would figure it out. She was actually pretty good at working out what was going on with the people around her. Just one example of her brains and how she used them for the wrong sorts of reasons.
Brushing her hand in the air, Blair screwed up her nose. “God, It’s not that serious. Simmer down Bex.” It wasn’t like she could just tell the brunette what was actually troubling her. That would open a whole other box that Blair was determined to keep nailed shut. No one need know exactly what a bad person she was. Even those who were least likely to judge her wouldn’t really support what she was doing, and Blair wouldn’t blame them. “It’s just school, you know, the usual.” Rolling her eyes casually, Blair attempted to brush it off. Before Bex could read too much into it though, Blair had changed the subject. “I’m so in the mood for a burger. You’re coming, because it’s not cool to let your friends eat alone.” Offering Bex a wink, she added, “You’re driving too by the way.” Blair didn’t even care if Bex wanted to or not- she’d made the decision and that was that. words // 290 // outfit // here // tagged // nikki as blair say what you mean, tell me I'M RIGHT, AND LET THE SUN RAIN DOWN ON ME, GIVE ME A SIGN Bex rolled her eyes as Blair told her to simmer down, and she shrugged. "Well, then. If it isn't so serious, what is it?" She asked with a curious and mischevious smile. The group of girls, though very close, it seemed that they really didn't end up telling each other absolutely everything at the end of the day. She knew she didn't, anyway. She liked to think that they trusted each other with a lot, but it would be childish to think that they weren't hiding things from her the way she was. But before she could wonder about it, she was taken off subject with the thought of hamburgers. "Mmm, hamburgers." She smacked her lips together, and raised her eyebrows. "Oh, I am, am I?" She questioned as one of her best friends informed her that she would be the one driving, and she laughed softly, playfully bumping her friend's shoulder with her own. Of course she'd drive, though.
But not just because Blair told her to, but because she always got really bored if she was just sitting there in the passenger's seat doing nothing. It wouldn't have just been because she did whatever Blair told her to. She was far too strong willed for that. But she didn't want to fight, and as long as Blair didn't mind her lead foot, she'd drive. Bex was never really the best of drivers because she liked to think of the law as more of "guidelines" most of the time. But hey, if Blair really minded, she would be the one driving, right? Of course right. She swerved a little to the side so they were going the other way because they were in the wrong direction, and dragged Blair along with her. "If I'm driving, we're going this way, m'dear." she said, still grinning a little.

[/div] Bex could think no one could boss her around all she wanted, but Blair suspected she could manipulate most of her friends into doing anything if she really wanted- even Bex. She just gad one of those personalities that, when used right, was impossible to say no to. Now Blair didn’t use such talents all the time, but it would be a lie to say she never manipulated situations so she got her way. This situation wasn’t exactly manipulated though. Bex was free to say no if she wanted. Of course had she exercised that right, Blair might have gotten rather upset. It was good for both of them really that Bex was so willing. Blair needed the distraction badly, and she was already in an off mood. The last thing she wanted was to be disappointed by a friend and made feel worse. There was really only so much she could handle.
Grinning at her friend, Blair leant over and pressed a firm kiss to her cheek. “Excellent.” More than just using her as a distraction, Blair did want to spend the afternoon with the brunette. She felt as though she hadn’t had much one on one time with her lately and that was something Blair was keen to fix. After all, they weren’t friends for no reason. Nodding as Bex steered them in the right direction, Blair fiddled with her phone a little. Fighting the temptation to check it for new messages. Or send her sister’s boyfriend another message. Neither of which was a very smart idea. Desperate for something to take her mind off her own melodrama, Blair decided to focus on someone else. “Did you see Patch and broody guy at the party last weekend? Talk about all over each other. It takes bromance to new, disgusting levels..” TAGGED: BEX WORD COUNT: idk NOTES: <33 [/div]

[/blockquote]

words // 334 // outfit // here // tagged // nikki as blair say what you mean, tell me I'M RIGHT, AND LET THE SUN RAIN DOWN ON ME, GIVE ME A SIGN Bex shook her head and chuckled as Blair leaned forward and gave her a peck on the cheek. "You're paying, though." Even though Bex's parents were one of the most richest families in Capeside, it wouldn't hurt to make her best friend pay for a burger. She glanced down and narrowed her eyes as her friend tinkered with her phone for a moment. Really, Bex was quite curious about this, even if it was just a little thing like this. But she was curious about most things anyway. And though she wasn't sure what Blair could be hiding from her, it was an interesting thing to think about. She looked away from the girl's phone to look back at her face as she changed the subject, and she curled her lip. "Ugh, yes. No kidding. What's up with them, anyway?" Not to mention they were just both so hot and it just seemed to make everything just a tad creepier. She shook her head. "Honestly, I almost left early." Like anything could ever really make her leave a party early. But it seemed like it would make more of an impact instead of her just saying "oh yeah ew" or whatever. And Bex was no-exception-always interested in making a bigger impact. Even if Blair knew better.
Still. "What do you think?" She asked, raising an eyebrow and turning as they reached her car and she went to the drivers' side and popped open her door. "Bromance or more? I'm totally unsure. I mean, it's way hard to tell." And knowing nosy old Bex, she'd investigate as much as she could before getting into some kind of trouble. Which seemed to happen a lot when she thought about it. But what kind of trouble could she get in investigating a couple of high school boys? Not that any of this was any of her business and she really shouldn't care so much, but she was a curious gal, and she liked to have her answers.

and let's face it, WHO ISN'T LESS FORTUNATE THAN I? |
[/div] Once it was settled what they were doing (even if she didn’t really agree on the who was paying issue), Blair was on autopilot. Walking beside her friend without giving it much thought or paying any attention to where they were going. She didn’t need to did she? After all, they were heading to Bex’s car. Not her own. She hadn’t even followed the conversation. Even if it was a topic she herself had brought up. Instead of really listening to her friend, Blair slipped her cell phone back out of her pocket. She couldn’t help herself really. It was pathetic, but she hated when he was mad at her. Maybe it was because he really knew how to make people feel the worst. Biting her lip, the blonde typed a message rapidly. Reading it over, Blair shook her head. She was apologising? What the hell even? She still didn’t even know what she had done wrong.
While Blair didn’t have any issues in admitting when she was wrong, she just didn’t think she was wrong often. It was one thing that baffled her- how her sister’s boyfriend could make her feel like she was wrong all the time. When she wasn’t with him, Blair could see just how insane the whole thing was. He was completely manipulating of every situation and in retrospect she saw that. Thing was, she let him. That was the worst part about it for Blair. She let him treat her the way he did, and even after the fact when she realized what he had done, Blair didn’t confront him, didn’t end things.. She just left herself open for it to happen again. She was such an idiot. Shaking her head gently, she started to delete the text. She wasn’t going to apologise.. No.. At least not until she saw him and he guilted her into it.
“Huh?” Blair looked up from her phone. When did they get to the car? Frowning softly, she came to a stop. Bex had said something, she was sure of that. Only thing was, she had no idea what. Shrugging, Blair slipped her phone into her pocket. “Yeah that sounds fine.” She wasn’t convinced that had answered anything Bex had said, but whatever. “Open the car, Ding-bat. You have the keys.” Raising her eyebrows, she watched her friend. Trying to push the focus onto Bex and not herself.

words // 378 // outfit // here // tagged // nikki as blair say what you mean, tell me I'M RIGHT, AND LET THE SUN RAIN DOWN ON ME, GIVE ME A SIGN Bex frowned as Blair seemed to be ignoring her altogether, and she wondered if she started speaking in a different language if her friend would even notice. Too bad the junior didn't know any other languages, or she'd definitely try it out. Instead she just narrowed her eyes and stared at her for a moment before debating whether or not she should peek over at the phone in her friend's hand. She gave it a glance and then just rolled her eyes, knowing that she would be plenty angry if Blair tried to read her personal texts, and do not to others what you wouldn't want them do to you, right? Or something like that. She raised an eyebrow as Blair looked up with a confused expression like she was surprised to be there already, and the other joined it as her friend proved that she hadn't been listening to a single thing that Bex had said.
She considered replying in a tone just as snappy as Blair's had been, but instead she just narrowed her eyes and glared at her, trying to decide what had gotten Blair in such a bad mood. And then she opened her car door a little wider and unlocked Blair's side as she hopped in. Bex usually wasn't so compliant or unargumentative, she normally would have been all over Blair for not listening to her when she was in the middle of a rant, but she didn't feel like arguing today and so instead she figured she'd just ignore it for now. If Blair wasn't going to respond, that was just fine, it just meant that Bex didn't have to listen to her. If she was in such a bad mood, Bex probably didn't want to hear it anyway.
Even though she would have liked having her mind off of her crappy home life, she didn't want to have to fight her best friend to stop thinking about fighting with her father. She was just tired of fighting in general. So Bex, personally would rather just shut up. "So where are we going, again?" She asked as she buckled up. Honestly, she wasn't quite sure if they'd ever even decided where they were headed. Just for burgers was all she could remember.

and let's face it, WHO ISN'T LESS FORTUNATE THAN I? |
[/div] Blair probably should have expected Bex to yell at her really. She knew her friend wasn’t too keen on being annoyed, and to make it worse, Blair had been a bit of a brat when she had told Bex to open the door. Normally, that would have earned Blair more than just the glare she was receiving. To be honest, she was glad Bex chose to take the high road, because given the mood she was in; it would not have ended well at all. Blair wasn’t usually the sort that got irrationally angry at people, but she was on edge, and pushing her really wouldn’t have been a good idea.
Letting out a sigh, Blair let herself into the car. The blonde tossed her bag into the back seat. Closing her eyes for a moment to try and clear her mind. She needed to get her head back in the game.. Whatever the game was. God, that was such a stupid expression. Like yeah okay if you played sport or whatever but this wasn’t actually a sport. At least not for Blair. There was actually a lot at stake with this whole situation. She was gambling her relationship with her sister for some guy who.. Who she didn’t actually love, and who was probably enjoying every moment of messing with her.
She was.. Fuck. Squeezing her eyes tighter, Blair tried to breath in. She hated herself. She really, really hated herself for this. Without her consent, Blair felt her eyes sting with tears. She was sure Bex had just asked her a question but she could answer. She was so focused on trying not to cry. Pinching her thigh through her tights, Blair attempted to force the tears back. However as the first one rolled down her cheek, she knew she had no choice. “Bex?” She asked mildly, more tears escaping her lashes. “Do you think I’m a bad person?” TAGGED: BEX WORD COUNT: idk NOTES: <33 [/div]

[/blockquote]

words // 345 // outfit // here // tagged // nikki as blair say what you mean, tell me I'M RIGHT, AND LET THE SUN RAIN DOWN ON ME, GIVE ME A SIGN It wasn't often that Bex ever decided to shut up and let there be a silence for long, but she honestly just didn't feel like arguing or fighting or whatever Blair was headed towards. The only reason she'd asked where they were going was because she wasn't sure where she was supposed to be driving towards. She was going aimlessly at the time, staring out at the road and her foot like a brick on the pedal. She only slowed down when her friend spoke again and she looked over to see a big tear roll down her friend's cheek, and all of her anger washed away and was replaced with feelings of terrible guilt. "What? Never in a million years!" She insisted, taking a good look around before pulling over to the side of the road. "Blair Alderidge, you poor dear, who in the world would ever put an idea like that in your head?" She demanded to know, turning to the side and pulling her legs up so she could sit on her knees in case she needed to jump over the seats and tackle her friend in a cuddle-hug. Why on earth would Blair think that she was a bad person? Bex was obviously the worse of the two, but she didn't want to think about that either.
She didn't know what had quite come over her friend, but she would hate to go anywhere if she was crying and she wouldn't imagine that Blair would either, which was the main reason that Bex had pulled the car over. Also in case Blair was in need of a hug or something and the last thing that Bex needed was to crash the car, especially when Blair was in it. And Bex would have to do a lot of blackmailing if she wanted to have a new car or to have it fixed, as well. The entire idea was just not very pleasant to think of and when she considered it she was quite glad she had pulled over.
