you swore you'd never tell
“THAT BITCH!”
The screaming echoed throughout the whole house. The Saunders parents looked up from whatever work it was that they were doing on a Saturday afternoon and shook their heads. Meanwhile, Felicity Saunders, the only daughter of the wealthy family, stalked around her bedroom with a wicked look upon her face. She could not believe it. She would not believe it. This simply could not happen to her. She would kill the girl. That’s what she would do. She would kill her. Instead, she simply tore out her phone and proceeded to send perhaps the longest, most threatening and violent text she had sent. Every second word was cuss and should probably never be repeated aloud for the sake of listening ears.
As soon as the first text was sent she paused and took in a few deep breaths. “Calm Flick. Calm thoughts. Think calm thoughts.” Opening her phone again she sent a final message to her best friends. Sorry, one of her best friends. However there was no doubt in her mind that of all three of her best friends she was closest to Blair. The two went way back. They had been friends the longest and they would probably remain so. Whilst the other two girls would go off and travel and do all sorts of things, Flick and B would stay together, she was sure of it. The message said to meet her, of course, at the mall. It was time they did some retail therapy.
Thumping her way angrily down the stairs she walked into the sewing room. “Mother dearest,” she started in a sweet voice. “How is that dress coming along? I do hope that it will be perfect for the Winter Ball.” Her mother turned around to respond but by then Felicity was already gone. She walked into the kitchen where her father was perched reading the paper. He looked up at her and offered a smile, not really wanting to ask what had happened earlier in her bedroom. Both of the Saunders parents were more than used to their daughter’s little outbursts. “Daddy I’m going out with Blair for a bit. I’ll text if I’m not going to be home for dinner.” Kissing her father on the cheek she turned, grabbed her bag from the counter, and walked out the front door.
Once she arrived at the mall, Felicity checked her phone quickly. There were no messages. She was not sure if Blair would even have received her earlier text. But Blair always had her phone with her. She would have received it. Maybe she had just gone over her plan and did not want to waste more money. Or maybe she simply assumed that her best friend would know that she would never abandon her. That was probably it. So instead of stressing Flick found her way to the fountain at the centre of mall and settled down on the edge of it. Checking the time she decided she would give her friend fifteen minutes before she texted again and then went shopping alone.

The first reason was that she’d heard the phone. Considering that it was buried under her clothes on the bedroom floor. Had the text come few minutes earlier, Blair would have been.. well, otherwise engaged, and wouldn’t have heard much of anything to be completely frank. The second reason why Flick was lucky was because had the text been from anyone else, she’d have just ignored it and rolled over away from the sweaty body beside her and probably had a nap. She couldn’t say no to Flick though. Not even when she probably should. In the instance in question though, shopping with her best friend was actually the better option. Or at least it saved her from repeating her earlier sins. She wasn’t entirely sure that counted for much though, she’d already done it. Was eternity worse for repeat offenders?
He hadn’t wanted her to go. That was very clear to Blair. He had tried to talk her ‘round while she pulled on her clothes, and his guilt trip had damned near worked too. He was the master of guilt, and he knew it. Normally Blair wasn’t so easy to manipulate, but he made it look just so damned easy, and Blair always felt like such a fool for letting it happen. She knew though, that he wasn’t interested in spending any time with her, he just wanted to win. Knowing that made it at least a little easier to withstand the guilt and tell him no. Anyway, they both knew that he’d already gotten what Blair had been invited over for, and had she stayed, they would either just do it again, or he’d kick her out after waiting just long enough to ensure it was too late for her to meet Flick.
Trying to ignore the sick feeling in her stomach, Blair had pressed a small kiss to his cheek and made her own way downstairs. She never expected him to walk her out. That just wasn’t his style. Once outside, her stomach churned even more. Her sister’s car. She had borrowed her sister’s car without a second thought in order to drive off to meet that very same sister’s boyfriend. Was she deranged in the head? Obviously, since it hadn’t occurred to her earlier when she’d left the house just how messed up that was. She had a one way ticket to hell, that was certain. If she wasn’t feeling guilty about what she had just done, she certainly was as she climbed into her sister’s car and turned on the engine with a shaky hand. Maybe she shouldn’t be driving? Whatever. She wasn’t staying there.
By the time she reached the mall, her mood hadn’t exactly improved. Quickly finding a parking spot, Blair grabbed her phone and her wallet. Heading to the usual place she and Flick met when they came shopping. She needed to get it together though, because Flick wasn’t an idiot, and she’d be able to tell something was up with her best friend. Pulling a large, fake smile to her lips, Blair slowed her pace in order to spot the other girl. Once she had been spotted, the blonde made a bee-line for her brunette counterpart. Bumping her shoulder against Flick’s in a friendly gesture, Blair leant in to kiss her cheek. “Hey babes.” [/style]
