-- JEREMY THOMAS OWENS !
-- NAME: Jeremy Thomas Owens -- NICKNAMES: Jem, Jer, OJ -- AGE & BIRTHDAY: 17, August 15th -- BIRTH PLACE: London, England -- ORIENTATION: Heterosexual -- OCCUPATION & SCHOOL GRADE: University student -- PLAYED BY: Harry Styles
-- PERSONALITY !
-- SPONTANEOUS: Jeremy has a habit of waking up in the morning and just doing something random. He’s a very spontaneous kid and he is always thinking up crazy new things to try. Many of the things he experiments with do not end well but he always has his friends to bail him out of any real trouble. Jem just likes living on the edge and keeping it real. He doesn’t like to stay in the same spot and he hates to be stuck doing boring, mundane activities. He needs to keep his mind active and that means changing it up a little every now and then. Although for Jeremy, he prefers to change it up a bit all the time. His spontaneity, whilst it does land him in trouble, can often be viewed as a refreshing change. He does not see anything wrong with wanting to experiment and try new things all the time. He actually sees it as quite a good thing, despite the danger some of these things can possess. -- INTELLIGENT: It is a given that this seventeen year old is intelligent. I mean, what seventeen year old is already a university student anyway? Jeremy. That’s who. From a young age his parents and teachers could tell he was smarter than the other children his age. He much rather preferred doing more complex stuff than the other stuff they were teaching for his level. His alphabet progressed quickly and he was reading books and picking up new words very easily. On top of that his maths was improving and his teacher had to increase the difficulty of it to keep the kid occupied. No, he is not the next Einstein or anything, he is not that smart. He’s simply a little smarter than his age, which is why he accelerated and jumped into university a year early. And he is not the kind of smart that requires no studying. He needs to study, just not quite as much as any of the other kids. It helps a lot when you have an eidetic memory anyway. Of course, if he studied a bit more rather than going out all the time he would probably a lot smarter than he is now. He still needs to learn everything; he just finds it all easier to take in. -- ADVENTUROUS: Jeremy can hardly ever sit still. His spontaneous nature has led him to have a love of adventure. Whether it is adventure inside or outside, he could not care less. He just likes to be doing something interesting and worth his time. He likes to bushwalk a lot, although most of the time he strays from the track and goes off looking for somewhere secret to hide. After being fussed over so much about being smarter than other children his age, Jem just likes to take a break from work every now and then. Work and good grades were never really on the top of his list and going out on various adventures was a fun thing to do to unwind. When he was younger he used to have a great imagination and used to think up stories whenever he went for walks. Like one time he was a dragon hunter setting out to kill the dragon that was terrorising London. His adventures were always a fun time in his life, much more fun than homework in his opinion.
-- LOVES: London, red telephone boxes, Doctor Who, Australian accents, Facebook, having an eidetic memory, adventures, fantasy novels, writing, trying different things, prank calls, pie, brunettes, pop music, 90s music, Pokemon -- HATES: Being called 'different' or 'special', being fussed over, having to do the same thing for too long, daily schedules, being on time, being cooped up inside, having nothing to do, boredom, the Twilight movies, bad remakes of old horror movies, white post it notes (yellow ones are fine), writing in pencil, stupid YouTube videos, home movies
-- HISTORY !
On August the 15th, seventeen years ago, Elizabeth and Charlie Owens had a son. His name was Jeremy Thomas Owens and he was born in London, England. He was their first child and they were both overjoyed to have him. Elizabeth had been pregnant before but it had been a miscarriage which meant that Jem was like the perfect gift for them. The fact that they had a healthy, beautiful baby boy was the best thing that could ever happen to the pair. They had named him after Elizabeth’s grandfather but Liz always had it in her heart to give him the nickname ‘Jem’ because of her strange obsession with ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’. Jeremy had no problem being called Jem, in fact he liked it very much. At a young age he had all of his friends calling him Jem too.
The Owens were also very good friends with the Heartly family. From a young age the two boys would often play together. Though Tristan was a year older than Jeremy, they still got along very well and were perfectly happy spending their time together. Whilst Tristan was a goofy kid and always up for a joke Jem was quiet at first. Of course, he was still very spontaneous and adventurous; he just went about it in a quieter manner. At one point Jeremy even nearly convinced the other kid to jump of a small bridge into freezing cold water. They didn’t even know how deep the river was. Luckily they got caught and did not end up doing anything stupid. Of course since then Tristan’s wisdom (what wisdom he has at least) has managed to keep the pair out of any serious trouble.
At school the Owens thought that something was wrong with their child. He was often bored and finished his work quickly, complaining about it being boring and easy. They discovered that he was in fact smart for his year. They had him skip a grade when he was younger, to join Tristan in his year. His teachers often told Elizabeth and Charlie that their son could be a very brilliant kid, if he tried a little harder at school. But Jeremy was not a fan of homework and instead wanted to go outside for a walk and read a good novel. Of course he was tearing through books as quick as ever and his parents had to keep trying to satisfy his love of new things.
Jeremy was soon out of school and he was heading to university. Of course, he still insisted on being with his best friend so he followed Tristan all the way to Capeside to attend Capeside University. Whilst his parents wanted him to do economics or accounting, Jeremy has decided that instead he wants to be a novelist. He’s doing a degree for that at the university however his parents don’t actually know that’s what he’s doing. He’s promised himself that he tell theme eventually but first he just needs to figure out how. His parents have it in their mind that being a writer is not a proper profession and that he should be using his intelligence to do something more worthwhile. Of course, his previous English teachers had all said that his writing was pretty good and Jem is now determined to show that to his parents.
