-- CASEY JENNIFER CAHILL !
-- NAME: Casey Jennifer Cahill. -- NICKNAMES: Case, CJ, Casey J, Casey Jen, Freckles (but only by select few). -- AGE & BIRTHDAY: Forty five. -- BIRTH PLACE: New Orleans. -- ORIENTATION: Heterosexual. -- OCCUPATION & SCHOOL GRADE: Librarian. -- PLAYED BY: Emily Procter.
-- PERSONALITY !
-- BRAVE: Most people who have gone through as much as Casey has, either turn out courageous or a coward. Casey managed to pull herself through towards fitting more courageous than anything else. She has three children, after all, she had to be strong for them- if she wouldn't, who else would? Certainly not her husband. Maybe she hasn't always been so strong, but since she pulled through her wreck of a marriage, she knows practically nothing is completely impossible. She won't let people tell her what to do anymore. She is done with that. Bravery and recklessness are two different things, however, and Casey acknowledges that. The fact that she does things she's afraid of and not what she knows would get her killed seperates her from being stupid from being brave- a rare trait in most people, it seems. -- PERCEPTIVE: Casey has always been intuitive. She pays attention to the little things, quietly watching and collecting insight about people. She's a people watcher, honestly, she would rather watch than interact a lot of the time. Casey is very down-to-earth, has a very fair sense of judgement, and is responsible. She puts others needs before her- most of the time. Sure, she can be just as selfish as everyone else, but her top priority is always to her children, no competition. She's very understanding, or she at least tries to be, anyway. She is at least very sympathetic, however. Sympathy is something that comes very easily to her, she forgives people way too easily and gets herself into a lot of trouble for just that. Grudges are not something that she enjoys holding. -- VULNERABLE: Because of her tendency to forgive so easily, it leaves Casey a little susceptible to people. She's too obedient for her own good, and people seem to take advantage of that quite often. She trusts too easily, forgives too easily, she's trying to change but it's a lot harder than it sounds for her. She is a lot stronger, a lot braver, than she used to be, and she's proud of that. Still, she wants to be even better, and she's working on it. Saying no was never really easy for her.
-- LOVES: Her family, animals, books, her job, silence, people, birds, playgrounds, babies, Louisiana, Capeside. -- HATES: Grudges, her ex husband, drugs, alcohol, death, dirt, loud noises, anything slimy or greasy, bugs, fire.
-- HISTORY !
Casey Jennifer Lucas was born forty five years ago in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Adam and Samantha Lucas. She was the third born, after one boy, Phineas, and one girl, Phoebe, who were twins. Casey had a twin as well, - Casper. She and Casper did everything together. Played together, ate together, they hated leaving each other, they were best friends no matter what. They were absolutely and positively inseparable. This didn't change as the family moved from New Orleans to Capeside, their senior year, even though Casper was slowly growing more and more rebellious, and Casey didn't really see a point to rebelling, she was perfectly happy. Of course, she missed her old friends in Louisiana, but she knew she'd get over it eventually, her mother needed to be with her sister, who wasn't doing so well, and had been recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
Luckily, Casey's aunt underwent treatment and soon, was perfectly fine. However, it was Casper that the family needed to worry about. He had sort of gotten into the wrong crowd in Capeside, and he was getting into a lot of trouble while Casey was preoccupied with helping her aunt and mother. And suddenly and unexpectedly, Casper overdosed, the beginning of sophomore year in college. Casey had known something was going on with her beloved twin, she knew that he wasn't as stable as he used to be, she'd even known that he was dabbling in drugs, but other than making him promise he'd try to quit, she had been too busy with her aunt and she didn't know that it had been that serious.
She was devastated. She couldn't even stand to be in Capeside anymore, she was so depressed. And so, she moved to Texas. Which was where she met her future husband, Andrew Cahill. He was older, he was charming, and he was dashing, he made her forget about her pain, and Casey quickly found herself falling in love. She married him four years later, when she was twenty four. And though he drank a lot more than she had known about, and he was a mean drunk, she put up with it. The next year, she found out that she was pregnant. Casey was beyond ecstatic. Even Andrew seemed pretty happy. After her firstborn, Brandon, came Harry and Lucy. Casey had always wanted a big family, but Andrew didn't seem to want any more children.
He didn't really seem to want any after Brandon, really. But Casey, at least, was thrilled about Harry and Lucy. Andrew soon started drinking again, more than ever, after Harry, and even more after Lucy. He always moaned about extra mouths to feed, and once when Casey was feeling rather brave, she snapped at him that maybe if he was so concerned about money that he should stop drinking so much. And that was the very first time that he hit her. It didn't stop after that, though. No, it only got worse. He'd seemed to have developed a liking to beating his wife, and she was too terrified to run. At one point, he went out for weeks and she thought that he'd left them, and she wasn't sure if she should be relieved or hurt.
But before long, he came back, drunk as ever, and when she asked him where he had been he only roared something incoherently at her, and she was so angry she just yelled right back. He had abandoned them after all, just up and left them, and for what? Booze? Drugs? Other- and probably, knowing him, cheap- women? And before she knew it, he was attacking her, worse than it had ever been, and she thought for sure that she was going to die this time around. But Brandon came running, and ripped him off of her. She still had enough wits about her to call the police, and after that, she filed an AVO against him and never heard from him again- until the divorce papers came, which she signed all too willingly.
After her children all graduated high school, Casey decided that it was about time that she went back to Capeside to be with her family, where Brandon had moved anyway.
