Alright, so Trent and I have been throwing around a few ideas to try and re-vamp things around here. How would everyone feel about removing the word count and making this site a more rapid-fire board? Basically instead of having a fast play board, the entire site will work like that. Of course, you will still be allowed to post longer posts, and we will still expect a very high level of writing level. However we are thinking that by taking away the pressure, it might help pick up activity, and spike new interest in the site. Please please offer your opinions =)

i think it's a good idea! a lot of people prefer shorter word counts- my lazy self included. it does seem to take the pressure off, even if most days i could post the amount in my sleep, lol. but that's just my opinion. =)

I don't mind either way, I think it could be a great idea, as long as it didn't turn into a sea of one liners. but i'm guessing that's kinda what you meant by "quality writing" haha

Yeah, I understand that. We'd have to be a lot more selective with the application process, to be honest. I think it should also be required to be in at least one advanced thread at all times. Considering it's what should come naturally to those with the writing caliber we'd accept, it wouldn't be too much to ask. The only reason we're looking to introduce more rapid-fire threads is to alleviate the stress of being involved in multiple advanced threads. Sometimes it is draining to constantly turn out quality posts in a timely fashion (what with real life always being a dick and cutting in). It'd accelerate plots, as well.
