-- NICKLEIN TRISTAN TORINO !
-- NAME: Nicklein Tristan Torino. -- NICKNAMES: Nick. -- AGE & BIRTHDAY: Twenty-five, August fourth. -- BIRTH PLACE: San Francisco. -- ORIENTATION: Heterosexual. -- OCCUPATION: Unemployed. -- PLAYED BY: Ian Somerhalder.
-- PERSONALITY !
-- GENTLEMAN: Manners were one of the most important things in Nick’s household when he was growing up, he was taught to be a gentleman from a very young age and it has kind of sunk in to a point where he no longer thinks about it. Opening doors, standing up when a woman enters the room, carrying bags, all of that is like second nature to him. He respects woman a lot, it all started with his mother and he honors her memory by trying to be what she would want him to be, as much as he can at least. -- CELIBATE: Celibacy is a strange thing for a man of Nick’s age in this day and age, but he has only slept with one woman in his life and prefers keeping it that way. Not having sex comes pretty easily for him, he doesn’t do it for religious reasons, he wasn’t really raised with religion; he does it because he doesn’t picture himself with anyone other than his girlfriend, whom by all logic has been dead for seven years. Since he doesn’t believe she’s dead he still sees himself as taken and thinks that sleeping with someone else would be cheating. He’s now trying to move on but still can’t really see himself with someone else. -- FLIRTATIOUS: Flirting has always been part of Nick’s personality, he used to tone it down for his girlfriend’s sake and only flirted with her, but these days he finds himself flirting with girls without realizing it. He’s really struggling with moving on versus staying committed her; he has been struggling with it for a few years now because he still truly loves her, even though he is starting to realize she's most probably dead. -- DRUNK: It has only started since he arrived in Capeside, but Nick has turned into a borderline alcoholic in the past month. He's a strong person and kept himself from going overboard in the past, but the realization that his hope was pointless, his tiredness and overall depression has driven him to do something that used to be out of character. When he's drunk he's the same person, just magnified, he flirts a lot more, does a lot of silly things for the entertainment of others and dances like you wouldn't believe. -- CHARISMATIC & CHARMING: Although he's been a loner for a long time, Nick has a lot of charm and charisma. He's very good with people and girls seem to like him instantly, although that's probably just because he's very handsome. He can talk his way out or into just about anything too and has used this to his advantage on numerous occasions in the past months, he even managed to talk himself out of a DUI, which takes talent. He is now trying to make friends, considering settling down in Capeside and going back to college, getting a degree, building a career. He doesn't really need the money, since he inherited millions and have not really spent much of it, but he feels like he needs to do something to occupy his time. --- GOOFY: This is another one of Nick's old personality traits that is now beginning to resurface thanks to the overuse of alcohol. He would do just about anything for a laugh and never says no to a dare, even if it is ridiculous. He has been known to strip down to nothing and run through town on a dare, so I'd be careful with what you ask him, you just might get it, the only exception is sexual things, he's still not ready for things like that.
-- LOVES: Whiskey, muscle cars, weed, dancing (usually when drunk which is most of the time these days), rock music, exercise, collecting knives, extreme sports, dirt-biking, skydiving and his pitbull named Jake -- HATES: Travelling (although he used to like it), animal abuse, talking about the past, talking about his feelings (although it could just do him good), insects, judgmental people, olives, sushi, picking up after his dog and diet soda.
-- HISTORY !
Born into a rich family, Nicklein never really knew what it felt like not to have money, his father was CEO and major shareholder of one of the largest IT companies in San Francisco and his mother was a housewife, although she was a qualified nurse, she didn’t need to work, instead she spent her time and effort on her son and made sure everything in their house was in order. One reads about fairytale-like childhoods in books, but Nick’s was pretty much just that, a fairytale, if there were any problems between his parents, he had no idea of it, his mother spoiled him and his father was there for every sports event he participated in, his life was perfect, up until a point at least.
When in kindergarten Nicklein met a girl who turned out to be his best friend up until his senior year in high school, the two of them were inseparable, if a day went by without them seeing each other it was a lot. They decided to take their relationship further during their junior year in high school, he had been in love with her for years before that, but was too chicken to say anything about it. His fairytale life seemed like it would hit no bumps, but it did, and when it hit that first bump, everything started going South from there.
It was one of the few weekends Nicklein spent away from his girlfriend, they were only a month away from graduation and all of his male friends decided that they were going away for the weekend, for some ‘male-bonding’ like they called it. His girlfriend had no problem with this and he was pretty excited about camping with the guys too, so he kissed her goodbye in the parking lot that Friday and got into the SUV they rented for the trip, not knowing that it would be the last time he would see her. He got the call that Sunday morning, it was his mother, who loved his girlfriend like she would love her own daughter if she was able to have one, crying, telling him she was gone. The cold feeling he had at that moment is indescribable, it felt like his insides where burning but his outside freezing, he couldn’t speak. The love Nick had for this girl could be surpassed by nothing on this earth and he lost her, he was broken.
After the death of his girlfriend Nick walked around like an empty shell for months, he spoke to no one, slept most of the time, the only productive thing he did was study because it was one way for him to get her off his mind for long enough. Something about how they said his girlfriend died didn’t make sense to him, they said she was driving home from dinner with her parents and got hit by a fuel truck, because of the heat of the fire there were no bodies to bury, only ashes. The part that didn’t make sense was the fact that she was even out to dinner with both her parents, she never told Nick why but she seemed to avoid being around them as much as possible, they weren’t anywhere as well of as Nick’s family and he always had a feeling something was going on in that house, but he never asked about it, well he did once but after being told not to ask again he decided to keep out of it.
A part of Nick felt like she wasn’t really dead, he got so obsessed with the idea that his parents were about to send him for psychiatric evaluation, but before they could, the unthinkable happened. Barely a year after his graduation both his parent were shot and killed by robbers in their own home, Nicklein wasn’t home at the time, but he was on his way back from college and got home to a very bloody scene. Needless to say, Nicklein’s head was spinning, he had no one left, sure he inherited a lot of money, but to him it wasn’t enough, he needed his parents, they were the only people that kept him grounded, kept him from loosing his mind completely.
At Nick’s young age he now had to make a lot of decisions he didn’t think he would have to make for a long time, he had shares to manage, something he didn’t know much of, since he never showed any interest in it when his father was alive, his father never taught him anything. His obsession with his girlfriend’s death didn’t disappear either and he was dead set on finding her, even though all logic said she was dead, he didn’t believe it. A few months after his parent’s death he packed his bags and sold their million dollar mansion in San Francisco, he had hired someone to handle his shares and was going to start his search for his girlfriend.
In the past six year Nick has traveled the country in search of this girl, he couldn’t let go, he ended up in Capeside when he was starting to loose hope, and he was starting to think he really was crazy. He has been in Capeside for about a month now and loves the town, he’s still not sure if he’s going to keep on searching, he hasn’t even asked around Capeside if anyone knows her, he is tired and needs a break from the traveling to get his head together and decide what his next move is.

Nick’s drug habit started as soon as he arrived in the states, he immediately made the wrong kind of acquaintances and got sucked into addiction so fast that he didn’t even see it coming. He doesn’t regret it though, to be honest he loved it, nothing helped with his self hatred and emotional pain more than the drugs, another thing that distracted him was pain, he discovered this after his parents’ deaths when he started cutting himself, the first time was an attempt to kill himself, but afterward he started cutting for the sensation, it made him feel alive in a strange way, not like an empty shell like he usually felt. The cutting was soon replaced with fighting, he got in a fight at school which left him sore for days and from then he picked ones on purpose, hoping to get beat really good, any form of pain became like his own personal drug, something he looked for everywhere. Since he practically never fought back he never really got good with fighting, he wasn’t really an aggressive person until much later in life, he did get some training since he was a cop, but he only really started fighting back after his sister’s death.
”Five and a half.” he jokingly corrected her remark, winking at her with a hint of a smile, British slang wasn’t really seen the same way in the States, much less seen the same by someone of Irish decent. He then proceeded drinking his freshly poured whiskey, the effects of the cocaine were nearly gone and he didn’t want to be sober, he’d have to pick up the pace. Nick drank a lot, too much really, everyday for past year, which caused his alcohol tolerance to become annoyingly high. He frowned when she responded to him welcoming her iron grip, he did have an Irish friend but it was still hard for him to understand sometimes, he sat there silently for a few seconds before he got it ”Might sound strange, but love is more like it… Makes me feel…” he trailed off, not sure how to finish the sentence, he was already telling this girl he barely knew much more than she’s supposed to know ”Alive I guess.” he added simply with a shrug before taking another gulp of whiskey. ’I might want to dial down on the weirdness.’ he thought as he did, he’d need to if he still wanted to aim for a shot with her.
He watched as Eli reluctantly took his hand an gave it a quick shake, for some reason feeling slightly hurt by it, which was a normal human emotion, something Nick hated having. He pulled back his hand slowly and rested it on the bar, chewing on the inside of his cheek like he usually did when he was in thought. He snapped out of it soon enough though, he wasn’t about to let his mind wander to self-pityville. ”You heard the lady.” he said to the barman the second Eli finally excepted the drink, feeling proud of his small victory. ”No promises, you’re too cute when you’re peefed.” he said as soon as the barman started pouring her drink, facing her once more with a smile. ”Now I just need to hear you laugh before I can decide whether you’re perfect or not.”
Nick got more hope when she actually started a conversation, but he knew he’d have to be tactful now, since his first attempt bombed so gloriously. He knew she had him pegged for what he was already and lying about it was probably just going to make things worse ”Pretty much.” he answered ”I’m usually pretty good with it.” he added soon after, thinking about the many girls he had picked up from this very bar. ”You’ve proven not to be as daft as they are though.” he added with a grin, not sure what angle he was going with and pretty much just going with the honesty thing, which was a entirely new concept for him.

PENDING !
Just a few things that you have going with your app that we need to address before we can reassess it for acceptance or denial.
1. The way we expect personality on our application is a minimum of three fleshed out paragraphs. If you have questions about this, we ask that you refer to applications that have all ready been accepted in our "BIO" section.
2. He doesn't seem to have any flaws in his personality. Granted, you stated that he was a drunk - but that isn't a personality trait. Maybe try "dependent" or "addictive" as a trait and elaborate on that. Apart from his drinking habits, he's a bit gary-stew.
3. His history is a bit ridiculous. Actually, rather incredibly ridiculous. Maybe make it more a realistic? Back tracking and going back to your personality - some one with this kind of past will have a lot more issues wrong with them then just a drinking problem.
4. Can you give us another sample? We'd just like to review another example of your writing since this post is just below our standards here at CPB.
