-- SELF ASSURED: To say that Bridget was always a confident girl would be a lie. In high school she was captain of the cheerleading squad, president of the dance committee, and class president all at once. She was popular, but constantly afraid of losing her status and thus stressed herself far more than she needed to. There was always a girl prettier and smarter than her, so she had to be able to do it all. Now a days she’s accepted she can’t compete with every pretty girl in the world without losing her mind. Maybe she’s not the most confident person in the world, but she knows what her strengths are and she’s perfectly happy utilizing them. She may not think she’s the prettiest, but she’s confident in her looks. Bridget’s fun and sweet personality ensures she’s still popular, though she doesn’t hold as much stock in it these days. Instead she just wants to have fun, she spent far too much of her time in high school working and now feels she deserves to kick back a bit.

-- HONEST:Whereas blurter may be a better word to describe her, honest sound so much nicer. The girl can’t keep her thoughts to herself and often blurts out random factoids that she finds interesting. She hates lying about things, ask her almost anything you’re likely to get the truth such as, if someone asks where she’s going to be ninety nine percent of the time they’ll get the truth. What she hates more than lying is being lied too, she’s been cheated on a lot in her life and found that more than the person being with someone else the lying about it bothered her the most. Therefore she tries to avoid making others feel betrayed and lied to. Course her honesty can make her bad a keeping secrets sometimes.

-- PERFECTIONIST: Probably Bridget’s worst trait, she’s a perfectionist. She has a hard time letting things happen as they will and often stresses about projects if they don’t go as she planned, which how often do things go as we plan? The problem is Bridget’s perfectionist ways don’t only fall on the side of obsessive compulsive when it comes to her bed pillows having to be linted each morning – she also wants to be perfect herself, which causes her to feel bad about herself and self-conscious, she’s working on it but it is still there. As much as she does realize she’s talented at various things she also feels she can always be better. Her need for perfection has caused her to lash out at herself in the past, from junior high through high school she had an eating disorder. Whereas some may say striving for perfection doesn’t sound like a bad thing, the simple fact that perfection is unattainable makes striving for it a rather fruitless and crippling endeavor. In fact she should probably get counseling for it since it takes up a large part of her time and causes her anxiety fairly often.

-- LOVES: giggles, coffee, old Hollywood, comics, glasses, cleaning, organizing, purell, animals, volunteering, Christmas lights (all year round baby!), lists, reading, movies/tv, flowers, coffee anything, whatever else she decides tickles her fancy.
-- HATES: feeling down on herself, germs, when things don’t go as planned, forgetting thing (thus her love of lists), when people assume things about her, Valentine’s day, scrambled eggs without black pepper, white cars, being cold, mean people, irresponsible people.

Bridget Penelope Reid was born to two very successful business people on January 6th. She was a small baby at just six pounds and two ounces, but was actually very healthy for being small, later she would grow to hate her small stature, but as a new born she didn’t quite care. The young body girl grew up normally, she had three older siblings, two brothers and one sister. As far as she and her siblings went they got along fine, they fought, but it didn’t cause lifelong rifts between them. Most would say her childhood was an easy one and maybe it was, she never wanted for anything, she was considered rich and she owned her own pony. Her parents were still together, she had plenty of “friends” and nothing traumatic ever really happened. Though her simple care free life was in for a change, as her parents became more and more engulfed in their work their children would pay the consequences.

Suddenly Bridget had no parental guidance and was left to her own devices for most of her preteen through teen years; this allowed her compulsive nature and self-loathing to accelerate at an extremely high speed. Though, it would hit its peak in high school. Everyone thought she had it all, she was pretty, popular, thin and was even dating the captain of the football team. What they didn’t know was that she wouldn’t eat for days at a time before binging and promptly purging. Bridget’s boyfriend decided it was time for them to take their relationship to the next level, she wasn’t ready, but he pressured her until she caved. She felt like she had no choice. After that was when she became very aware of how clean things were, she felt violated and at the same time didn’t think she had any right to feel that way. So, instead she coped with it by keeping everything around her very clean and tidy, she thought she wouldn’t be able to feel dirty if everything was spotless. Days later she found out that he was also cheating on her with her co-captain. Her eating disorder also became worse, she didn’t drop much weight, but she became very unhealthy and sick and ended up fainting during cheer practice. She’d done it at a prime time in her eyes as she could blame it on stress due to the various activities she had going on at that time.

Her doctor told her parents the truth and they forced her to receive counseling, through all this she still kept up with her school activities and managed to keep her secrets secret. After college she went to Los Angeles University and kept up counseling, things were looking up and she was beginning to get back to being okay. This would also be the year she met the boy that would change her perspective on comic books, she hadn’t had a boyfriend since her high school boyfriend Clyde, but Josh was kind and non-threatening, so she allowed him to get close to her and the two of them became good friends. He showed her that comic books were actually a lot of fun and not something lame nerds do because there’s nothing better to do with their time. The two began dating, they were together for three years before she found out he’d been cheating on her for the last year with a girl in his computer science program. Suddenly nerds weren’t even safe to trust her heart with.

Those two experiences have caused her to swear off boyfriends; instead she casually dates, but never allows it to evolve into anything more serious and well one night stands are good for when she’s feeling lonely. To this day she refuses to get serious with anyone and instead sometimes rolls up a heated blanket on those cold nights that she’s alone in her bed. She’s a big ball of energy and doesn’t need a man to make her happy. She promptly moved as far from LA as she could after she broke up with Josh to work with a catering service in Capeside, Mississippi. She absolutely hated it due to the fact that they were doing everything wrong (in her eyes) and soon pitched the idea to her mother for a new job. She currently works as a style blogger for her mother’s very successful fashion magazine La Mode’s website and often frequents coffee shops in the middle of the night and really loves Capeside for its laidback charm, she needs that being as high strung as she is. Somewhere to relax and as far as she’s concerned Capeside is the place to be for her.
