It was here. The day was finally here. After working her rear off as a waitress for god knows how long, the day was finally here. Nataliya had saved up all the pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters and dollars she could get just for this moment. It would have taken much longer for this day to come if she didn't have her aunt and uncle's saved up college money for no one. To be honest, Nataliya was surprised that they had even let her have it. They could have used iti for something else. But maybe it was because they had no child or daughter, and Nataliya was the closest thing to one they could have had, even though they had only found out about each other three years ago, so they would support her for this day? That was the most logical reason. Whatever the reason was, though, Nataliya was grateful. Without their kindness and genorosity, Nataliya would have to become a nun or something. She would get Uncle Alexei and Aunt Fiona something later for it. Once she had enough money. Right now though, she needed to enjoy this day and make it a success. The day when her bakery opened.
She had always wanted to have her own bakery. She'd even went to a culinary school in Denver, Colorado, instead of one of those Ivy League Universities her parents had wanted her to go to. And now after three years of managing work with raising her twins, Hazel and Rowan, with the help of Uncle Alexei and Aunt Fiona, she was finally opening her dream business. She'd never, ever, thought she'd ever have this day. She couldn't help but be extremely excited. It was finally complete now. It was furnised and painted, and Nataliya had already baked her products for her first customers. Her products ranged from cupcakes to cakes to cookies to pies. She had been quite busy the last few days. "Want us to take the girls for the day?" Aunt Fiona asked Nataliya. The looks on Rowan and Hazel's faces was a no. They apparently wanted to see their mother doing their job, and possibly talk to any of the customers. Last time they had been with Aunt Fiona, she had made them help her do errands. And it was very obvious that they were hoping that their mother would spare them some extra cupcakes.
With a smile, Nataliya said, "no thanks Aunt Fiona. We'll be fine." After Aunt Fiona and Uncle Alexei left, Nataliya flipped the closed sign to open and began to work. From morning to just before lunchtime, Nataliya was having a good amount of business. Now she waited for her next customer and gave her girls a sugar cookie to share, because there were extras in the back.
