In all honesty, Seth spent far too much time on that damn college campus.
Not only was he one of the few upperclassmen who still lived there (granted, he’d gotten one of the expensive college apartments reserved for seniors), but he ate and hung out more than he probably should have. Most kids had found frequent hang out spots elsewhere. But he enjoyed the scenery of the campus, the library, and the cafeteria- it was also more affordable, he thought, considering he didn’t have to pay as much for gas. Quite nice.
And on that Saturday afternoon, Capeside College was precisely where he was, not that there was any surprise. This was one of the few days he had off of work, and considering he didn’t have any classes either, he was at a strong loss of what to do. Sometimes, even when he didn’t have work, he’d end up at the cinema anyways, chatting up the employees who were working and helping out during a rush- it was a bit pathetic, he supposed, but he enjoyed it. He liked the people he worked with. They were fun people and the job wasn’t overly demanding, considering the movies usually started around the same time- after the rush, it was pretty dead for a couple of hours, meaning there was time for chatting and little mini games they liked to invent when there was nothing else to do. It was ideal, and he liked spending time at the cinema, even when he wasn’t on the schedule.
Today, though, he just wished he had something else to do. As much as he loved spending time there, he’d been in every night so far that week (due to being on the schedule- not for the hell of it) and he felt a little weird going there for a seventh night. He wasn’t sure what the hell all of his college buddies were doing, but he was pretty sure they were all out drinking or something. Seth was the kind of guy who would gladly be in a fraternity, but he wasn’t a guy who liked to go get wasted and laid all of the time, like some of his friends. He much preferred a quiet night in, a calm environment. So whenever his group of friends went out for the night, he was usually left behind. He didn’t normally have a problem with it, but when he was this bored? Well. It was a bit annoying.
He was stretched out beneath a tree, hands behind his head, eyes closed. He was pretty sure his lanky form was in the way of everyone trying to take a shortcut through the courtyard, but he didn’t completely care. Seth was pretty sure he was going to get a pretty nasty sunburn if he didn’t move into the shade soon (damn fair skin) but he couldn’t bring himself to do it.
Just so lazy.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300] OUTFIT | TAGGED FOR ASHLEY AS SETH | HOPE YOU DON'T MIND! Nico was not really someone who stayed in one place for very long, she got bored too easily if she didn't have anything to do. So seeing her running around campus looking like she was about to just drop dead, meant that she was just looking for something to do to get her energy out and running was the first thing that really ever came to mind, strangely enough, but it wasn't uncommon. She was pretty sure she had a rep already: that crazy white girl who ran around like a maniac and watched television almost religiously. But, Nico thought that it was a pretty darn accurate description of her, so she didn't argue it.
Honestly, Nico wasn't even really sure where she was going, she was just going. Waiting until something even slightly interesting happened. And with Nico, interesting came in all shapes and sizes. One interesting thing came in the shape and size of a good friend of hers, Seth Hall, who she came across soon enough. She slowed to a halt as she noticed him, grinning at his still body. Somehow she was having a little bit of deja vu about this, except it was usually Nico who was the one laying down when someone found her. And honestly, Nico probably would have run right over him if he wasn't so long, he was pretty hard to miss. She wasn't quite so fortunate in the height department and probably would have gotten run over if she had lain down right smack dab in the middle of the courtyard. Wouldn't have even made it out of the shade of the tree, probably.
She couldn't decide if he was asleep or just resting, though, and she contemplated whether waking him up or not was worth it, but of course it was for Nico, Seth was a good natured guy and she doubted he'd get angry or anything. So she slowly stuck her hands into her pockets and walked towards him, casting her shadow over his outstretched body. “So is the lobster look in now?” she asked teasingly, gently kicking his foot with her own tiny foot, meaning only to get his attention. “You know, I never know. One day it's ghost white, then it's pumpkin orange, now lobster? I must really be out of the loop.” she tilted her head slightly to the side, grinning widely.
Nico and Seth hadn't known each other for all that long, but he seemed to like her company, and she knew she liked him. He seemed like a genuinely good guy, honestly. Sort of like a slightly distanced older brother figure or something, in a way. Nico had never had an older brother, though, so she could only imagine that Seth was like that to her. Plus, she didn't even know for sure if it would be weird for her to think of him as a brother figure, but still, it was what she pictured having a brother was like.

Seth was pretty engrossed in his own thoughts when he heard the voice, and he poked an eye open, holding a hand over his head to shield himself from the sun. His gaze settled on Nicolette and, immediately, the corners of his lips spread into a wide grin. She was a new friend of his- younger, but definitely someone he’d come to enjoy the company of. She was kind of like his little sister away from home (although healthy and a lot more energetic) and he liked having her around, even if they really didn’t know each other that well. Nico was a sweetheart, as he had come to discover. She didn’t let anyone get in the way of what she wanted to do. And hell, he liked that she loved television more than he did- Seth himself was a bit of a closeted addict. While he did like a few sitcoms and the occasional drama/crime show, reality shows were his guilty pleasure. He spent more time than he’d ever want to actually admit voting for his favorite American Idol contestant, and he invested far too much of his time in Project Runway for any heterosexual male to ever admit. Most would probably think he was gay from the way he got into some of those shows but he really just liked watching competition and people turning on each other. No shame in that, right?
But really, don’t even get him started on the Glee Project.
Crossing his ankles, he closed his eyes again and dropped the hand he was using to shield himself, using the other to pat the ground beside him, signaling that she should join him. He’d enjoy the company, really. He was bored and he thought that if anyone could provide him with some interesting conversation, it was Nico. He was glad that he’d met her, and happy that she was joining him. He pointed his toe out when she kicked his foot, gently nudging her ankle. ”I was going for salmon pink, actually,” he said with a playful smirk, ”How do I look? Am I done yet? Don’t wanna overdo it.” Honestly, he’d probably look like an actual lobster by the time he went inside, but that was beside the point. He liked the sun, a lot, but he needed to invest in a bottle of sunscreen to carry with him everywhere if he was going to keep making spontaneous decisions to just lay down in the courtyard.
”How’s it going?” he asked after awhile, trying to make conversation.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300] OUTFIT | TAGGED FOR ASHLEY AS SETH | (: Nico smiled as Seth patted the ground beside him and right away, she bounced over and took a seat right beside him, making herself comfortable. "Ooh, salmon. Someone's all fancy with their colors. You were that kid who got mad when someone called the scarlet crayon crimson, weren't you?" She grinned. She had totally known a kid like that in kindergarten. She liked to mix the colors up just to bother him. She was an awful person and she knew it. But hey, at least she admitted it, right? "You look tres magnifique for salmon, my dear." She told him, blowing a kiss in the air with a laugh.
"It's goin' pretty good, actually." She responded with a slow nod. "You know, you'd think I'd have a lot of homework to worry about when all I ever do is watch tv, but that doesn't really seem to hinder anything, which is nice. I do love my tv, after all." She admitted, scooting closer and putting her head on her friend's shoulder with a sigh. If anything, Nico was a very physical person. She couldn't stand not being able to touch someone. Clingy, was probably a better fitted adjective. You'd learn that soon enough with her.
Piggyback rides, hugs, arm linking, hand holding, her wrapping her entire body around your leg and making you drag her around, even. She didn't really weigh much, so that was usually not much of a problem, unless you just didn't like to be touched. If you didn't like to be touched, you really should not be hanging out with Nico. Honestly. She was a very touchy-feely kinda person. It was probably a problem, but Nico never paid that much attention to whether or not you were comfortable with her. She assumed too much- always presumed that nobody would mind, though some people clearly did. You really had to be quite literal with Nico about that or else she really would not care what you were trying to say to her, she wanted to hold you.
"What about you?" She asked curiously, tilting her head upwards so she could see Seth out of the corner of her eye. "What have you been up to lately?" Nico was a naturally very curious person, so she probably would have asked eventually anyway, not just because he'd asked first and it seemed like the nicest thing to do next.

Seth heard the soft ‘thud’ beside him and didn’t bother to look up, already assuming that she was just taking a seat next to him. He reached up, scratching the side of his nose, grinning slightly as she listened to her ramble on about crayon colors. ”Of course I was,” he responded, as though it were the most obvious thing in the world, ”Crimson and scarlet are like… On the opposite ends of the spectrum, my God. It’s a little ridiculous. Don’t ever mix up the colors with me. I’ll have to kick your ass.” He opened his eyes to shoot her a playful warning glare, although his lips betrayed him and he broke out into a grin again. ”And thank you. I think I do look quite dashing, don’t I?” Echoing her laugh with one of his own, he shook his head and closed his eyes again.
Nodding, he thought back to his own course load and mentally kicked himself in the butt for taking two courses this semester that he had no idea what he was doing in. ”I envy you,” he sighed, ”I’d love to be able to sit around and watch television all day. I mean, granted, I kind of do anyways, but like. I shouldn’t. What are you watching all the time, anyways?” Yes, he loved to watch television as much as the next guy (or a little more, perhaps) but he would never have the attention span to sit there and watch it every single minute of the day. There often times wasn’t really anything on to watch. Sure, he liked the Full House reruns as much as the next person but he could only really listen to John Stamos say “have mercy” so many times in a day.
He didn’t flinch when he felt her head on his shoulder. Seth was a really physical guy himself- he loved to cuddle. Often times, when in a relationship, he was the clingy one- always wanting to hold the girl’s hand, and hug them, and… Other things. But even just friends and family, he felt no reason why he shouldn’t get to cuddle up with them as well. There was nothing wrong about letting someone know you were there. So he wrapped an arm around Nico, giving her a small squeeze. There.
She asked how he was and he shrugged his free shoulder, thinking for a moment. He certainly wasn’t about to tell her about his sister- no offense to her, but he really wasn’t ready to bring it up to anyone yet. So instead, he merely sighed. ”Nothing, really. Lots of schoolwork. Trying to get scholarships to pay my way through law school. Same old.”

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300] OUTFIT | TAGGED FOR ASHLEY AS SETH | (: Nico grinned as her suspicions about her friend and crayons was confirmed. "You must hate me, then, most of the time I can't even tell the difference between teal and turquoise." She sighed and shook her head. "I'd say I'd have to keep my mouth shut around you, but.. we both know that isn't happening, my mouth is never shut. I even talk in my sleep, I've been told. I always wondered what I talked about, but apparently it's even more random than what I say now. Would it be weird to set up a camera in my own room so I could see what I talked about?" She pondered aloud curiously.
And then she remembered what they'd been talking about as he agreed with how good he looked, and she chuckled again. "Oh, pink is definitely your color, yes." She nodded agreeably. Nico personally, took as very little classes as possible. Nothing could deter her from her television watching. Or at least, not a lot, anyway. She grinned at his question. "Funny you should ask.." She began, and then giggled again. "Well, basically, whatever is on. I'm not really picky. I like to find the differences and the similarities within plots and stuff. Tell which things are more original, what covers what subject better, yadda yadda."
She smiled as he wrapped his arm around her. Good, he hadn't minded her public display of affection. Nico was definitely a cuddler, so it was a relief when she found people who would really cuddle with her- not just let her snuggle up to them without complaining about it. Nico did enjoy that.
Nico pouted slightly as he told her that he had a lot of schoolwork to do while trying to get scholarships to pay through law school. "Aww." she said sympathetically. "I'd help if I could. But frankly, my dear, I have no idea how I would be able to do that." She told him, tilting her head back down again. Law school. She wouldn't have pictured him as a lawyer. But she didn't really know what she would have pictured him as, now that she thought about it.
"You know, Law and Order has always been a favorite of mine.. particularly SVU. Munch is my favorite." Even though this probably had no relevance whatsoever to the conversation, the word Law had sparked it. "Or Olivia. She's pretty cool, too. But Munch is definitely the funniest." Nico informed him unnecessarily with a good natured nod.

Seth grinned, opening his eyes to shoot her a playful look. ”Can’t tell between teal and turquoise? That’s like… Mixing up black and white. Terrible, and unacceptable. I’m afraid we can’t be friends anymore. I thought you were different, Nico. I thought you’d be my best man at my wedding but you can’t even tell teal and turquoise apart? Leave me, now! I cannot handle this.” He dramatically sighed, shaking his head in faux-disapproval at her before laying back again, the grin never fading from his face. But she was rambling then and he couldn’t help but chuckle- she was endearing when she rambled. Reminded him- again- of his little sister. And better yet, she was rambling about rambling. ”I’m sure that wouldn’t be weird, you know. Setting the camera up. But like, don’t go selling the tapes or anything. Why don’t you just do an audio recording? That might be less creepy. I wanna listen to it, though, so I can see if you snore. If you snore, I might make fun of you. Never mind the fact that I snore sometimes, too.” He could talk just as much if he wanted to. Yep.
Listening to her talk about her television choices, he gave a slight nod. ”That’s interesting. That must be fun, though. Being able to pick out all of those different kinds of things. But now, here’s another question. You always talk about how you love television, and how you watch anything, so I’m really curious to know…” He paused, trying his best to drum up some dramatic pause, but let it dwindle away after merely a few seconds. ”Is there any show you really hate? Like, you can’t watch it, because you can’t stand it? There’s gotta be something. Anything.” He smirked down at her, waiting for a response. Really, he was curious. There were even some shows he didn’t like, and he was a pretty laid back kind of guy. For instance, Lost. It just confused the hell out of him and he couldn’t put up with it anymore, so he refused to watch it. That, and Glenn Beck. Also couldn’t watch Glenn Beck.
”I’ve only seen Law and Order a few times. SVU is that show with all of the sex crimes, isn’t it? It was okay. Sexual crimes make me really uncomfortable, though, because they’re so horrible so I try not to watch them too often.” Seth shrugged, shifting a little bit to arch his back, stretching himself out. ”I should stop laying in one spot for too long.”

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300] OUTFIT | TAGGED FOR ASHLEY AS SETH | (: Nico let out a loud, pathetic sounding whine as Seth told her they couldn't be friends anymore because of her inability to tell the difference between teal and turquoise. "But being your best man was my dream! My lifelong dream, Seth! I can change! I promise I can chaaange!" She wailed, throwing a hand over her face. And then she grinned again. Yes, the two of them were far too dramatic for their own good. No, Nico did not care at all whatsoever. She was having way too much fun to quit while she was ahead.
She giggled as he told her not to sell the tapes of her while she was sleeping. "Okay, fine, but it's your fault if I end up on the street when I could have made millions from tapes of my sleeping habits." Yeah, that would be really creepy, wouldn't it? "Audio recording works too. But if you laugh at me I'll hit you." She grinned, even though she was being dead serious. Though it'd probably do no harm whatsoever, seeing as how tiny she was and Seth was obviously not. She doubted she'd ever do any serious damage to anyone, honestly, not even if she wanted to.
For a moment she was silent as Seth spoke, and her eyebrows rose to the top of her forehead in anticipation as she waited for him to finish his question. Nico had an extremely short attention span, and even a few seconds was enough for her to get really excited. "Oohh." She slumped back down again, thinking. "Okay, I never really liked Family Guy or The Simpsons. Or Spongebob. I never got how the squirrel got down there. She was a squirrel, right? Though I do think I would enjoy living in a pineapple. As long as it had cable. And internet service. And like, food." Nico shrugged. Apparently, all three of those shows were very popular, but for some reason, she never really got into them. Of course, she'd watch them if someone else was watching it and they refused to change the channel because most of the time she was just too lazy to move, but they weren't her first choices. It was also weird that they were all cartoons, as well, because Nico loved cartoons, but, still.
She nodded as he asked which one SVU was, and she wrinkled her nose. "Well, yeah. They also have a bunch of kidnapping episodes. Or child murders. Even though that's not any better. But I like the characters the best out of the rest of the Law and Order shows." She laughed a little. "Yes, you probably should. But I'm not one to say anything. I could probably sit in the same position for hours if I had something to distract me. So. Heh." |

Seth laughed silently as she wailed out a promise that she could change. ”It’s too late! Just too late!” he countered, huffing a sigh and slamming his hand on the ground, ”I don’t think you can change. I’m sorry. You’ll just have to find someone else to fulfill your best man dreams. Shame, too. My wedding is going to be awesome. It’ll have dolphins and swans and ice sculptures and good looking people and a lot of alcohol. But, you know. Maybe you can be an usher, if you play your cards right.” He gave her a nudge, smirking. His wedding most certainly would not have any of those things. Well, okay. Maybe an ice sculpture, all things depending. But he was a simple man and he liked simple things. He didn’t need elaborate things in his life.
Grinning, he cocked an eyebrow and looked down at her. ”If these tapes of your sleeping habits are the deciding factor between being homeless or not, then I very much question the direction this country is going.” He chuckled at her threat to hit him, looking up at the sky. ”Is that a threat, Gilmore? You’ll hit me? I don’t think I like that.” He slowly slipped his hand around to grab her side, tickling it briefly. ”Yeah. Take it.”
Seth didn’t mind Family Guy or the Simpsons- he could appreciate that type of dirty humor. He decided not to comment on those, and instead give an exasperated groan at her declaration of her hate for Spongebob. ”What’s so difficult to understand about how Sandy got down there!” he argued, although mostly just for the sake of arguing, ”She has a suit so the water can’t get in, and a way to breathe, and a dome. Her dome is just like land. She likes the water. She probably took a little ship thing down. I don’t know specifics, she’s a smart squirrel. She’s fine. It’s totally realistic.” Smirking, he gave her a small squeeze. ”And you don’t like Family Guy? Doesn’t everyone think that Seth MacFarlane fellow is dreamy? Oh wait-“ he paused, the look on his face hinting to the fact that he was about to shamelessly make a really stupid joke, ”Seth Hall is the Seth that everyone thinks is dreamy. I’m dreamy. Sorry, sometimes I forget. I’m so used to all the ladies chasing after me that it just… Slips my mind.” He used his free hand to ruffle up his hair a little. ”My bad.”

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300] OUTFIT | TAGGED FOR ASHLEY AS SETH | (: Nico huffed and stuck her tongue out at him as she was told that he could no longer have her as his best man. "Well, that's rude. An usher? That's just.. lame and insulting." She nudged him right back. "But okay, if I get to ride the dolphins, I'll take it." Because dolphins were worth basically everything an usher had to do, obviously. Though what an usher did do was actually something Nico had no possible clue about. "By the way.. What exactly does an usher do?" She asked, narrowing her eyes and tilting her head to the side and looking at him out of the corner of her eye again curiously, before making herself quite comfortable on his shoulder again. He really did have an extremely comfortable shoulder, she ought to tell him that some day.
"Well, the country's already basically goin' down the toilet anyway, if you were to ask uncle Max." Nico informed him, nodding quickly and grinning. "But Max is just a grumpy old man, you know." Though old was a relative term, he was really not that old but everyone more than five years older than her she basically considered old. "I will too hit you, just wait and see!" She insisted, nodding sharply. When he reached over and tickled her, she squealed loudly, erupting into giggles and slapping him lightly on the arm. "Se-eeth!" She howled, flailing about slightly until he stopped. "You're so meean to me." she stuck her bottom lip out and pouted, even though with her head still on his shoulder there was an extremely slim chance of him seeing her winning pout.
"Yeah, but how did she get the suit!" Nico raised her eyebrows and threw her hand out questioningly. "I don't know who that is." She said as he paused, and her eyes narrowed, her head tilted slightly backwards suspiciously as he made an extremely interesting face, wondering what he was up to. And then she laughed at his words, shaking her head. "Mister Hall. You are a ridiculous young fellow, and that is a lot coming from me, as you well know!" She said unneccessarily, wagging her little finger in his face playfully. But you couldn't say that Nico told any worse jokes in her time. Because honestly, she did enjoy the odd bad joke or two. Okay, a lot more than one or two, she was the queen of bad jokes, and this of this title she was very fond.
