-- WESLEY RUPERT KING !
-- NAME: Wesley Rupert King -- NICKNAMES: Wes, Wez-[ez, tupper-wes -- AGE & BIRTHDAY: 23, July 7th -- BIRTH PLACE: Capeside -- ORIENTATION: Straight -- OCCUPATION & SCHOOL GRADE: Jazz muso and shift manager at The Regent -- PLAYED BY: Daniel Franzese
-- PERSONALITY !
-- CHARASMATIC: Wesley has always been an out-going guy. A smooth talker; a charmer. Even as a small child he’d tip his imaginary hat and say ‘thank you ma’am’ to the lady who served him at the school cafeteria. It’s as though he belonged to another era. One where chivalry still lived and men called female endearing pet-names. He’s the sort of person that others find themselves drawn towards. He just seems so content and comfortable with himself. Even if he really isn’t. Which, as a younger man he wasn’t. He has always been good at the charismatic act though. Masking his true feelings with a charming smile and a wink.
—OVER THE TOP: Everything about Wes is big; from his shape to his personality. Everything he does is animated and large. In fact the phrase ‘larger than life’ might even apply to the boy. Even his emotions are big. When he’s happy, his smile is large and his laugh is loud. When he’s down, he’ll pout like a big ol’ toddler. Some would think that Wesley’s Larger Than Life persona is rather fake, but truth be told; that is one thing he doesn’t actually put on. He is naturally just a loud, exuberant person. You’d think it would get tiring, but really, it’s just so much a part of him that he doesn’t even realise when he’s being a little too intense anymore.
-- SOFTY: Truth be told, he’s a big Teddy-bear. Who, if you wanted to know, gives the best bear hugs in the world actually. Yes, Wesley King is a softy. He caves at the first sign of puppy-eyes and has trouble saying no to people he cares about. He has a strong protective streak, but is more likely to be your comfort then go smash someone. Though he has been known to fight for someone’s honour in the past. Generally though, he’s a lover not a fighter. He’d do anything for people he cares about and anyone he considers his family.
-- LOVES: Food, Hats, Jazz music, Performing, Skittles, Bowling, The Thirties, Pimp Hats, The Trumpet, Comics, Pizza, Vanilla Coke, Snacking, Cooking, Laughing, Hugging, The Beatles, Movies, Collecting TV shows on DVD, Rainy Afternoons -- HATES: Screamo Music, Snakes, Moths, Liquorice, Taking his shirt off in public, Fat jokes, Hitting and Violence, Emos, Vegetarian meals, Onion Rings, Waiting a week for new episodes, Dark Chocolate, Playing Sports, Goodbyes
-- HISTORY !
Wesley grew up as man of his house. His father left his family before the boy’s younger sister was born, and Wesley, being the protective type even at such a young age, he felt like he needed to protect his pregnant mother. So that was how things went. He acted like the man of the house and did everything a little boy could do to help his family. Which only got more as he got older. He quickly learnt how to cook so he could feed himself and his sister when his mother was at work. He cleaned up, and pretty much acted like the second parent . He liked it that way though. By nature he was a family orientated person.
While his family life may have been happy, the same really could not be said for his social life. He had trouble making a lot of friends at first. He was the way too polite, kinda weird fat kid. He was teased for a lot of his early school days. It really wasn’t until high school that he gained some decent friends. Which really helped boost his confidence. While he was close to all of them, he found himself drawn to Kennedy York. The two had been friends in primary school but they grew much closer as they got older. Without even realising it, he fell in love. For the longest time he didn’t even realise he loved her. Until someone else tried to have her and he made sense of his jealous feelings and hit the guy.
Things were good for a while. Really good. In fact, Wesley even assumed they were in it for the long hall. That was, until they started talking college. Wes wanted to stay close to his family, and Kennedy was set in the fact she was leaving for a school further away Neither seemed to want to compromise. Wesley had hoped they could work it out, even as college letters came in. She left though, broke his heart and left. It took him a while, but he got back up on his feet. Tried (and failed) college, but found a life for himself as a musician. He may not have been happy, but he was content.
