-- LANCE RHETT DAVIS !
-- NAME: Lance Rhett Davis -- NICKNAMES: Nothing other than some pet names. -- AGE & BIRTHDAY: 28; March 19th. -- BIRTH PLACE: Newcastle upon Tyne. -- ORIENTATION: Straight -- OCCUPATION & SCHOOL GRADE: Rugby Player -- PLAYED BY: Andrew Stetson
-- PERSONALITY !
-- LAID-BACK: Lance is generally laid-back about most things. He's not quick tempered or the overly hasty type. It's not that he doesn't know how to move fast, it's that he doesn't get all worked up about things. He's pretty even-keel when it comes right down to it. When he's presented with a problem, he takes it in stride and doesn't give himself time to stress out about things. Worrying is not a problem he's struggled with. It's not that he'll just take your shit laying down; not at all, but he's also not prideful to the point where he won't walk away if he thinks it's not worth it. It doesn't bother him in the slightest to say "To hell with it," and turn his back. Getting him riled takes quite a lot; unless you do something that's incredibly offensive to him, you're likely to get an easy-going, laid back response to just about everything.
-- DECISIVE: Just because he's laid-back does not mean he's wishy-washy. Being even tempered just plays more into his decision making process. Since he was a kid, he's always been the kind to take charge of himself and do what he needed to do. After he got into his career playing rugby, both his laid-back and decisive attitude played well into him landing a position as a fly-half. Lance likes to be quick and effective with his decision making and doesn't generally linger on things. Even if he ended up choosing the wrong thing, he's likely to follow it through regardless. One of his flaws certainly lies in his stubborn attitude when it comes to the decisions he makes. Admitting he's wrong is not one of his strong points.
-- PROTECTIVE: Lance is a reliable, very predictable guy. You'll know what gets him upset, what he does every Tuesday afternoon, and how he eats a Reese's cup if you pay attention. He's a rather straight forward and unchanging man. One of the things he's always been unchanging on is the fact that he's protective. While, as a big brother, it has always been his God given mission in life to tease his little sister, he would still drop everything in a minute if she needed him. While he won't go all out for just anyone on the street, he's always been more of the father-figure type in the sense that, especially with women, he wants to look out for and protect those younger than him. Lance's protective streak will often stretch out to include his friends as well as his family, though he's not quite the extreme that if he has only known you for two hours that he's going to start throwing punches at strangers or anything of the like. (Which is only partially due to the fact that he avoids conflict whenever possible.)
-- LOVES: His wife, his family, rugby, homemade food, the beach, running (with his wife), sitcoms, a cold beer, orange juice, feeling worked out to the point of exhaustion, chilly mornings, sitting down with family after a long day -- HATES: Hard liquor, TV dinners, milk (and lactose), humid weather, American accents, being too busy to relax, crime shows, football, getting injured, knowing how a movie ends ahead of time, crossword puzzles, being forced into something
-- HISTORY !
Lance never really expected to find himself in America. In fact, the thought that he would someday head Stateside wasn’t even a passing thought. Twenty-eight years ago he was born to two, young parents and they couldn’t have been any happier. Until, of course, he was followed by a little sister a few years later. The couple took every chance they could to dote on their daughter, though Lance really didn’t mind that she was the one that stole the show. To him, being out from under their eye and having the chance to be himself was much more enticing. He was far happier with the independence that they granted him then the attention that his sister got. Callie got the typical big brother treatment. Half the time he would tease her and the other half he was ready to kick someone’s ass because they were picking on her. (Using the clichéd excuse that the only person that could pick on her was him.)
But, in general, he made his own friends outside of his family and liked to find things to keep himself busy. When he was fourteen, his mother decided that being able to dance was a quality skill for a young man to have and enrolled him in a ballroom dancing class. To compensate for this, he also decided to join a rugby team. Sports had always interested him but rugby became his passion and by the time he was into high school he knew he wanted to play professionally. While he may not have been the biggest on the team, he was fast and he was good. By his last year of high school, he was considered one of the best on the team and had held the position of fly half for some time.
It was during this time that he met to future wife. Although she had been younger than him, they became friends through his sister and knew they both liked each other for quite awhile before they got into a relationship. It wasn’t until she was out of high school and he had been accepted as a professional rugby player that they got serious and shortly after were married. Now, three years later, they’re still happily married and are soon to be expecting their first… though, shh, Lance doesn’t know yet.
On top of this, his little sister is engaged as well and it’s for that reason that he finds himself in America. That, and a recent knee injury has left him out of the rugby game and he’s been considering pursuing some of his other passions in possible changing his career. But, for now, he’s content with the time off and the chance he has to spend time with his sister and wife without other distractions getting in the way.
