-- CHARLES JORDAN WINCHESTER !
-- NAME: Charles Jordan Winchester. -- NICKNAMES: Chip, Charlie, Char. -- AGE & BIRTHDAY: Twenty two. -- BIRTH PLACE: London, England. -- ORIENTATION: Heterosexual. -- OCCUPATION & SCHOOL GRADE: College drop out, musician at a hotel, street performer. -- PLAYED BY: Julian Morris.
-- PERSONALITY !
-- PHONY: There isn't much about Chip that is truly real at this moment. Only that despite everything else, he's a good guy. He may lie about everything, but he has good reason for it. He dropped out of college just a few weeks ago, but he's been lying about that because his family has very high standards, none of them that he finds he qualifies for. Everyone always expected the best of him, and he tried to give it to them. But he's too exhausted to do it anymore. He knows he can't make it as a doctor, he's not smart enough and he doesn't want it enough. He never wanted to be a doctor in the first place. However, he hasn't decided quite how he should break the news to his family, or his girlfriend. He hasn't actually told anyone yet, even though it's driving him crazy, he hates hiding things from anyone, much less the people he loves.
-- GENTEEL: If nothing else, Chip is polite. He's kind, and thoughtful, and it's obvious that he's been raised in a well-bred family. He's a gentleman, opens doors, pulls out chairs for women, he's quiet, gentle, a good guy, honestly. You rarely ever hear him speak out of turn, and if he does, he has a very good reason for it. He's incredibly well mannered and courteous, but it can actually be pretty annoying after a while because he really just does not know how to loosen up, at all, though he really is trying to work on that.
-- PASSIONATE: Though Chip usually comes across as very stiff and uninviting, under that exterior beats a kind and very ardent heart. Though there is rarely a person who knows him who would even begin to imagine that he's so passionate, he truly is, especially about music. He has always wanted to be a musician, but no one in his family knew or even cared about what he wanted, so he didn't talk about it, not hiding his love for it but neither sharing it, either. Now that he's dropped out of college, and decided that he wanted to do what he wanted to do, he has been throwing himself into his music wholeheartedly, taking all of his free time (and there has been a surprising lot of that) in devoting it to himself, for the first time in his life.
-- LOVES: Piano, guitar, singing, being himself, freedom, performing in the street, people who understand him, cheesy movies, America, American food. -- HATES: Having to pretend to be someone he's not, blood, knives, needles, ketchup, dissection, college, hiding things from everyone, lying, being so stiff.
-- HISTORY !
Charles Jordan Winchester could have been a prodigy. He ought to have been trained with the best of them in all things musical, but his parents, Brielle and Harrison Winchester, were not quite as enthusiastic about the thought of their son, their firstborn, being anything but a neurosurgeon like his father, and grandfather before him. Poor Chip wasn't even given a chance, never a choice, no one ever asked him what he wanted to be, it was always assumed that he would take the "family business", as it were. But something you should know straightaway about Chip is that he pretty much gets squeamish if someone pricks their finger and one tiny drop of blood comes out. In biology class when be was required to dissect a frog, he first ran to the back of the class to empty out the contents of his stomach, and then he took one look back at that poor, cold, dead frog laying on the table, and he passed out. None of this, however, made any difference to his parents, none whatsoever, who claimed that he must have caught a cold or something of the like. The thought that the son of a neurosurgeon was afraid of a little frog dissection was laughable, if not insulting.
This was how Chip's entire childhood and teenagerhood played out. His parents always urging him (if forcing is too strong a word) toward a medical path. The sole and only ever rebellious thing he had ever done was sneak out for piano lessons. If he was feeling particularly risky, guitar lessons. Never anything any worse than that. The funny thing about it, was that he could have gotten away with so much worse, and they'd have never even suspected a thing. But all he'd ever wanted was to be a musician, that was all he would ever risk anything for, he didn't really find that anything else was really worth it.
And now, in present time, nothing has really changed, except for this. He is now living in the States, he has moved from England to Capeside when he was a sophomore, with his family. He actually has a girlfriend, something actually pretty rare with him because usually after the first date, women decide he's far too nice, and a tad too.. well, geeky. And, oh, yeah, he dropped out of college because he was failing out anyway and for the first time in his life, he's doing something he wants to. Even though he doesn't have the guts to tell anyone about this. He is actually playing guitar on the streets, like a common beggar, and playing the piano and singing at some fancy schmancy hotel as live entertainment, but even though he knows that his parents would rather die than have him do any of this, he actually really loves it, more than he's ever loved doing anything else his entire life.
