-- EVELYN JANE MARCUS !
-- NAME: Evelyn Jane Marcus -- NICKNAMES: Evie -- AGE & BIRTHDAY: twenty-four, february twelfth -- BIRTH PLACE: New York, New York -- ORIENTATION: Bi-sexual -- OCCUPATION & SCHOOL GRADE: exotic dancer at a strip joint -- PLAYED BY: olivia wilde
-- PERSONALITY !
-- FICKLE: Because she's so used to not trusting other people, Evelyn's got a rather long history with not keeping up with relationships. She tends to shy away from any real solid connections and tends to use her wits to change the subject on the other person. She's a person of fun without any real substantial allies, though she'd be the first to tell you that she doesn't honestly need anyone. In her world, all Evelyn needs is 'me, myself, and I', and that often hinders her sight of reality. According to her, the world is a piece of shit, and she doesn't really need to put her neck out on the line for the people who aren't even going to try and hold her up to the same standards. If someone has a friendship or fling with Evelyn, chances are it's only going to last for about two weeks until she hightails it out of there. She's petrified of being weak like she used to be, so she uses this as a defense mechanism. -- OBSERVANT: Although she is a very intelligent individual, Evie keeps to herself and usually forces on a different persona, a facade to truly see what lies within another person before even trying to get to know them. People interest her like animals in a zoo; they are so much different from her that she tends to take the backseat to see drama play out. Sometimes this pisses people off, that she reads into other's body language and takes every eye movement into consideration, but it's what she has been taught, so she uses that to her advantage to avoid people problems before they erupt. -- HOTHEADED: Let's face it: the girl talks with her fists. She's more of a 'punch first, ask questions later' kind of individual, which can land her in loads of trouble. Now that she's so roped up in drugs and this terrible lifestyle, she's more careless about her body than ever before. Got something to say to someone she works with? She's going to attack you. Got something to say about her? Probably not a good idea to actually let that be known. She's heavily guarded and holds a lot of baggage under the rug, so using physical violence is a way for her to compensate for her emotions. -- DAMAGED: Due to her family issues, she's been known to go after the wrong everything. Most of her personality flipped at the top of a hat when her father disappeared, causing her to spiral over the edge. Unfortunately, her mother wasn't always the best role model, so when her father left, all of her feelings went out the window. She grew up idolizing her father, and the grieving allowed her to put up a wall, a shield, to the outside world, thus bringing her closer to solitude. If she tries to talk to you and let you in, then that's a huge step, so don't take it for granted. She hides behind a sharp tongue paired with quick wit, though the outspoken nature can be teared down easily if the right buttons are pushed.
-- LOVES: men, women -- or at least sleeping with them, her job, her brother Lucas, reading, researching, science fiction movies, playing cards, meditation, dancing, martial arts, gun conventions, rock 'n roll music, summer, alcohol, murky bars, pool bets, being alone, venus fly traps, lying, cars -- HATES: her parents, being underestimated in her profession, being weak, living with other people, having to explain herself, personal situations, sushi, large bodies of water, smoking cigarettes, religion, orange juice
-- HISTORY !
Evelyn Jane was born to a young middle-class couple, Anna and Daniel, with a twin by the name of Lucas. She happily lived in New York for a while with what she presumed to be a happy family when suddenly her parents were heading towards the road of divorce. When she was about eight, her father disappeared, leaving her, her brother, and her mother alone in the Big Apple. Her father was one of her idols and she looked up to him, but when her mother drilled it into her head that she probably left for another woman and didn't want to have them as a family, everything changed. Scarred by the fact that she no longer had a father who wanted her, Evelyn quietly grew up being raised by her single mother, struggling to cope with the money issues as well as the evident psychological. While her mother resorted to drinking, Evie resorted to karate and other various martial arts.
On Evelyn's eleventh birthday, however, their luck seemed to have changed; suddenly, their mother had money and then some. The shift from poor lifestyle to this lavish, beautiful one was overwhelming for Evelyn, but grand nonetheless. Instead of wearing the same clothes for years, she began to receive a new wardrobe every year for nearly every season. She took piano lessons, attended private schools, had the latest technology, anything she could have dreamed of. Her brother received his own computer and learned how to tinker with various technologies and eventually wound up in the same private school as her. Evelyn just figured that her mother had finally gotten lucky and that times were changing for the little lost family.
Until she discovered that her mother wasn't that good of a person and that the money was being stolen. At fourteen, she found out that their mother was illegally transporting money and taking part in robberies. Although at first she was shocked and upset, Evelyn started coming to terms with her mother's choices by the time she was fifteen, but she was hesitant about living a life that wasn't obeying the law. Still, family was family. Her concerns didn't stop her mother from teaching her the ways of her new profession; in a way, she was trying to prep her up to becoming her little accomplice, the family business.
In order to take part in this job, she was going to have to bulk up and becoming responsible for herself. She started taking karate to self-discipline herself. The fighting made her stronger, her defenses better, and her mind more practical. She also took a lot of dance classes to make her elegant, flexible. That's when a person from the gym offered to take her to a gun show for a date. Of course, she was fifteen and he was twenty, but she didn't care. The minute she arrived at the show, she fell in love, ultimately propelling her desire to know everything there is to know about artillery and guns.
The duo moved to Louisiana when she was almost sixteen in order to hide themselves from police. She took on a fake identity as she entered a private school under the name of Janet Frevitt. She took the opportunity to explore a new personality, giving her the experience of observing people and watching what made them tick.
It wasn't until her first job did she realize that she couldn't be like this. She almost busted them at the bank, causing her to melt down and decide that this was probably not the job for her. Her mother was in rage, angry at her inability to choose family over her morals, so it caused a strain in their relationship. Her brother had already chosen the same life as their mother, so Evelyn was really Anna's only other addition for keeping their money as consistent as possible. As she grew older, she abandoned the idea of ever following in her mother's footsteps, especially when she knew eventually they would get caught.
Perhaps then was where Evelyn finally snapped. She wound up dropping out of her senior year at high school and started getting into a lot of things she would never be proud of: the usual drinking and drugs that teens normally found comfort in in times of grief and depression. Bit by bit, the fun-loving Evelyn had disappeared, leaving a shell of herself in its place. Her mother, unable to handle her any longer, wound up making her leave their home.
So she moved, moved to Massachusetts. Homeless and broke, Evelyn was sure that she would drink herself dead if she had to. Yet, a slight touch of salvation hit her when she decided to start selling cocaine. Seeking a position as an exotic dancer at the newly opened Gentlemen's Club, she decided to use cocaine and dancing to escape her homeless and wrecked life in order to find one of power and success.
Now going by the stage name 'Pip', Evelyn works to get herself back on her feet. Eventually, Evelyn's mother and brother brought it upon themselves to move to Massachusetts as well. Estranged? Basically, but Anna doesn't want their relationship to be severed. Evelyn, however, would much rather be ignored and let what she's doing go way under the radar of the police. Apparently the business ran in the family after all.
-- SAMPLE !
Sometimes she wondered if he was conscious about what he chose to wear whenever he came over. That green combination went well with his eyes and brought them out, shining like emeralds with a sad sheen to them but beautiful nonetheless. Shined on the creases that crinkled around his eyes whenever he gave her those bullshit grins when he acted like he was hot shit. Brought out that beautiful smile. The amulet around his neck in comparison to the green popped out, and overall, it just looked good on him.
Like hell she didn't notice how beautiful he was.
The little things, that's what she looked forward to when it came to Dean no matter how angry and violent he could get her to become. He knew how to push her buttons and always meant it with good fun; Evie was just an emotionally stinted person who always acted out with anger, with punches, and even though she pretended she didn't care, the tiny huffs he makes before he actually laughs? The tiny smirk his mouth quirks into when he thinks no one's looking? She's looking, and she's waiting for them to show because it's the things she looks forward to the most when she gets these kinds of moments.
If there was one thing Evelyn Marcus didn't do, it was take the time she had with Dean for granted, because there was no telling if he would be back, hell, if he would even be alive. It was dangerous out there, and she had grown to accept it.
And if Sam wasn't there, well, she was really going to have to behave, now wasn't she? Rolling her eyes, Evelyn waited in her towel as he suggested another one night stand before she tossed the tinier towel she was drying her hair off with at him. "It wouldn't be a one night stand then, dick. One night stands implies that you don't bother me anymore, but you're always coming back whether you die or not," she flatly responded and turned to go to her bedroom.
Oh, but not until after she shut the door, removed the towel, and then opened the door just a crack so she could drop it on the ground to show some little flirty implication.
The door locked just in case.
"I would never imagine you taking me to the Taj Mahal, Dean. You'd have to be wearing a suit, and the suit I've only seen is the really crappy FBI remake you and Sam keep in the backseat. Have you guys updated those yet? You know the feds got a new badge," she shouted from her room while going through her drawers and closet. Grabbing a simple gray t-shirt, she pulled her her green lace panties and jumped into her jeans. "I'll have to issue you guys the new set when I get a chance to look at them."
Not like she hadn't already printed out the new copies for them on Wednesday. No need to tell him, though, right? Then it would have looked like she had too much time on her hands.
"Babysitting?" She asked, pulling the shirt over her head. Pulling the door open, she cocked her head to the side and gave him a skeptic look, but decided to drop it. "Suprised you wanna drink at three in the afternoon, honestly. Has your drinking gotten that bad?" she teased with a tiny smirk. Going to sit on her messy bed, she pulled on a pair of boots and glanced up at him. "You know, Dean, when you said you were coming back in a week, I didn't honestly expect you to show up."
