-- HANNAH ECHO DENT !
-- NAME: Hannah Echo Dent -- NICKNAMES: Hanna-banana, freckles, ginger, ginger kid. -- AGE & BIRTHDAY: seventeen, october first -- BIRTH PLACE: st. louis, MO -- ORIENTATION: heterosexual -- OCCUPATION & SCHOOL GRADE: senior, works at a comicbook store part time -- PLAYED BY: emma stone
-- PERSONALITY !
—GOOFY/QUIRKY: The two go hand and hand with her. Hannah is really goofy, she’s always ready to make people laugh. Whether that be by dancing like a geek or making funny faces. Ask her to do any accent and she’ll either nail it or butcher it for comedic effect. Sometimes she’ll start talking in another accent without realizing it. She’s clumsy and that often plays into her goofiness. Goofy expressions are her bread and butter since they occur so naturally on her face. Along with her goofiness comes her quirky side, she snorts when she laughs and spontaneously breaks out into oldies dance moves when there’s no music and she makes popping sounds with her mouth when she’s looking for things. Her quirks are endless, but that makes her especially fun to be around.
-- CARING:Hannah is one of the most caring people you will ever meet. She’s always worried about others wellbeing and the wellbeing of animals and other living creatures on earth. The fact that she is so caring can quickly turn into a bad trait considering most people take advantage of this aspect of her personality. Often she gets treated like a doormat and she knows that, but she finds it hard to say no when people ask her for assistance even if she knows they don’t actually need her to help them. Basically if you are lucky enough to have Hannah care about you, you are one lucky duck. She’ll go to the ends of the earth for someone. She’d give you a kidney if you needed one. Her mother left her at a young age and she doesn't want anyone else to feel like they don't have someone to turn to. she has abandonment issues.
-- ODD:Odd is a good word for Hannah. She’s never been your average girl, yes, she loves makeup and hair and plans on going to beauty school when she graduates. She even has a you tube channel for makeup and hair tutorials. Yes she loves fashion, but has never been the trendy type. That’s about the extent of her normal girl-ness. She’s obsessed with the forties, fifties and early sixties for the simple fact that she loves the fashion and feel of that era, when men wore page boy hats all the time and suits and suspenders. She’s a bit of a contradictions sometimes in the way that she can be very snotty or very sweet, she has a snarky personality, and isn’t easily fooled by people’s tricks, yet can be extremely gullible at the same time. And sometimes she’s just simply odd. She talks to herself a lot not in a creepy she’s hearing voices or anything.
-- SELF DEPRECATING:Hannah has never had much faith in herself and it shows sometimes. She’s always one for some self-deprecating humor. Confidence isn’t her forte and it shows, not that her insecurities are completely obvious to the world, in fact she can fake confidence fairly well, it’s feeling it that she’s not so good at. If one pays attention they’ll notice that Hannah’s self-deprecation isn’t all fun and games, she actually believes a lot of what she says. She doesn’t think she’s the type of person that lights up someone’s world with a smile or that can just make someone’s day better just because she’s there for them, however she’ll always be there for people when they do need her.
-- LOVES: ICE CREAM! (expecially if it's fried), comic books/graphic novels, movies, music, all things colorful, dancing like a dork, hair, anything vintage (expecially from the 20's - 60's), sci fi, Joss Whedon (or as she likes to call him the king of sci fi), watching youtube videos about kitten (don't judge it's an addiction), doing makeup and hair tutorials on youtube, raybans, wild animals, sleeping, swimming, running, jelly bellies, nutter butters, Steak & Shake, Ted Drew's! and anything else that tickles her easily excitable fancy.
-- HATES: girls, sun burns, not sleeping, animal cruelty of all kinds (except she still eats meat), mean people, the twilight saga (books & movies), people who try to be cool, when sand gets down her bathing suit, when people say a woman sleeping around is empowering, double standards, stooping down to someone elses level, people who aren't fat whining about how they are, jelly donuts, pineapple, mushrooms, any flavor of jelly bean that isn't black or green.
-- HISTORY !
Hannah was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February twenty sixth, it was cloudy, rainy day. No one would think that Hannah was born on a cloudy day, he father used to say the reason for that was because the sun gave Hannah all its light and didn’t have any left to shine the day she was born. Needless to say he was a very proud papa. Hannah was a very lively and bright child, though she never really conformed to the social norms of how a little girl was supposed to act. She didn’t wear pink, in fact she refused and she spent more time with comic books than Barbie dolls. Her father is a lawyer who drew comics as a hobby and he was the one who really introduced her to comic books. They were his passion other than upholding the law. Her mother was also a lawyer, but unfortunately her heart always belonged to another and she left the two of them for the other man when Hannah was nine. Her leaving broke Hannah’s poor father’s heart and he could no longer stay in the city that reminded him of her.
So they moved to be closer to her father’s sister, because her father thought it was best if Hannah had a female influence in her life. However Hannah began to wonder why her mother would leave her behind, why she didn’t want her anymore, there must have been something wrong with her. Course it didn’t help that her aunt was a very girly and slightly crazy woman who scared Hannah a bit. Hannah never fit in with the girls at her schools and ended up having more guy friends than girlfriends. She just hated the cattiness that girls seemed to be consumed by and most of the girls thought she was a slut because she hung out with boys so much. She was an outcast to the girls and often got bullied and it wasn’t just girls calling her a slut or petty names, they were horrible to her and as much as she tried to pretend it didn’t hurt, it took a huge blow on her confidence.
In her freshman year her father also met another woman, not the type anyone would think a stuffy old lawyer would fall for. She was a tattoo artist and she taught Hannah how to do her hair and put on makeup. Sophomore year Hannah got her first boyfriend and they’ve been together ever since. Her father’s heart has been mended and there’s even talk about a wedding. Hannah was always good at hiding her emotions, so no one would expect that she had a cutting problem. Not for attention, but for a coping mechanism. She’s alright now, but just like an addiction she slips up sometimes. To this day no one knows about it, it’s not something she talks about. She believes it makes her weak.
-- SAMPLE !
It’d been a while since he last saw Ruby and he was starting to feel like himself again. Apparently his method of out of sight out of mind actually worked. Okay, so maybe whenever he saw the back of a blondes head he got a little pang of fear and guilt, but that would go away. After all he’d been avoiding Capeside all-together. He’d spent the last couple of weeks surfing in California with his friends. The fun was over now though. His mother had decided to for once actually act like a mother and demand he come home. The only reason that actually worked was because she threatened to freeze his bank account if he didn’t. She probably just missed having someone around to give disapproving looks to. If Ruby was, well had been his biggest cheerleader, his mother was his biggest heckler. For the longest time he hated Ruby for always telling him he could amount to something and that he could accomplish his dreams. Now it was something he found himself missing, none of his other friends were quite good for him – not that he’d ever admit that.
In all honesty he didn’t care if they were bad for him, Ruby was always the one who kept him grounded and his weeks in California was a bender at best. He’d let his hair grow out and he slept around trying to rediscover indiscriminate sex. Yes, he was beginning to get in touch with himself again for better or worse – likely for worse. He could feel his temper was on a short fuse lately, after all being in a new city getting plastered and sleeping around, does tend to bring out the asshole in Bradley and he got in plenty of fights. It was more like a chaotic brawl than anything that resembled a vacation. To Bradley though it was a good time, the boy loved beating the living shit out of people and that scared the hell out of him. Maybe he needed to see his uncle again; he needed Uncle John to bring him back to earth and theoretically beat the life into him again or at least the lust for it. That was what Brad had been missing for a long time now the lust for life. When he was still around Ruby she allowed him to forget his reckless side a bit, to forget that he didn’t care who got hurt.
Because he did care if she got hurt and he never wanted to be the one who hurt her. She reminded him what it felt to care about someone. At this point Bradley was just a rock bottom waiting to be hit. Everyone close to him seemed to be watching with anticipation. His friends were waiting to see what the next victim of his rage would look like and they loved his violence as much as he did if not more. No, they weren’t good for him, but they were all he really ever had. His mother was never around and when she was she didn’t care if he was there or not, his father was awol, as were the bruises he left behind. Bradley still managed to keep himself comfortably bruised though. After growing up with bruises he felt like something was wrong without them now. He was sore and bruised from his bender, but he had the assurance he was alive which was always good, he needed to know that. Most would think that it would be lovely to be numb, but the growing numbness in Bradley made him wish for the pain of guilt or love.
Deciding to come home by boat seemed to be the best way to go, it prolonged the inevitable, but that was his intention – staying away from home as long as possible. However he was back in Capeside now, with his back pack slung over his shoulder. Hoping that he wouldn’t end up bumping into Ruby in his first few minutes back, just because he felt over it now he was sure if he saw her again she’d manage to make him feel bad. She had a knack for that. He couldn’t decide whether walking home with a hangover was a very good option or if he should just get a cab or take a bus.
