[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300] TAGGED FOR SARAH AS JOANNA | I'M SORRY THIS SUCKS SO BAD D:
Homicide was certainly not high on the menu when it came to crime around here, which was great for the rest of the world, not so great for Jake's profession, not that he was complaining. Much. But regardless, today was Jacob's day off. Unless he got called in, but that was rather unlikely, to be honest, and he had decided on spending his time at heart's desire beach, just relaxing, for once. And thus, that was just what he was doing. He had walked from his apartment to the beach, which was longer than he'd thought that it would be, but still not that bad, and seeing as it was actually not that crowded, either, so he decided that taking a little longer walk couldn't hurt, using the time to just.. well, think, really. Missing Texas, mostly. Not so much the blistering heat.. but everything else about it. Not that Capeside was bad or anything, but, Texas was where he had grown up, after all. His family lived there, his little sisters, who he missed awfully, and felt bad about leaving behind. Seriously, if the rest of his family moved to Capeside, it would make his life. He'd always been a family oriented kind of guy, to be honest. A calm walk on the beach probably sounded peaceful enough, but with Jake, nothing stayed peaceful for very long. Today was, but of course, not an exception. Because during this little calm walk on the beach, as he was looking entirely the other way, he tripped over something and tumbled over it completely, almost falling flat on his face until he put his arms up to catch himself. "Woaahh!" He yelped as he rolled off of who he'd fallen over (because by now, he had determined that it was indeed a poor, innocent bystander) so that he didn't completely crush them underneath him. "I'm so sorry! Are you okay? Are you hurt? Oh please don't be hurt," He cried, crawling back to the person and grimacing, with a completely horrified look on his face. Sadly, he was not surprised that this happened, however, normally it wasn't an actual person that he was falling over. It was usually his own feet. Or a rock, or something.
Not a person, making this very awkward and traumatizing for him. And probably the person he'd fallen on, too. He still felt incredibly bad about it, though, and it showed through his worried expression. |

Joanna Bellamy wasn't exactly the type to spend hours at the beach. Of course, she loved walking along the sand and listening to the waves crash onto the shore. This is why people moved to Capeside, for the fantastic view and the clean beaches. Unfortunately for Jo, being a redhead meant that she had extremely pale skin. And pale skin led to burns. So, whenever she visited the beach she usually covered up. But, not today. Jo had decided that she was going to challenge the sun and wear her bathing suit proudly. If she was going to burn, so be it. At least there was the chance of the burn turning into a tan.
Joanna had also come to the beach for another reason: inspiration. Being an artist for a living wasn't exactly a comfortable job, especially if you weren't selling anything. And miss Jo hadn't sold anything in a little while. She didn't know why she couldn't paint, she had a serious block in ability and need to fix it soon- she was running out of ramen noodles. Jo made her way to the beach, and was surprised when she saw how few people there were. Oh well, it wasn't exactly something to pout about. Although Jo had always been a serious social butterfly, there were certain days when a person just needed time to sort out their thoughts and look forward.
And heck yes, today was one of those days.
She found a nice little spot right in the middle of the stretch of the beach and put down her towel. She stripped out of her cover-up and began to lather herself with sunscreen. Sure, the amount of sunscreen that she was putting on was probably not needed but Jo wasn't willing to take a chance. A nice glob of sunscreen sat upon her nose as she made herself comfortable on the beach blanket. Jo had just gotten nice and cozy when all of a sudden- bam! Something hit her calf, and pain shot up her leg.
"Sweet Jesus! Ow!", she cried out and sat up. Jo rubbed her leg and noticed the boy who had tripped over her was panicking. She hadn't really took a good look at his face, but noticed his southern drawl and was intrigued. She smiled as soon as she saw him and had the sudden urge to just sketch. "Calm down, I'm fine. It's just a bruise." She couldn't help but giggle at the worried look in his face, and almost had to feel bad for him. "I'm no doctor, but an ice pack and maybe a kiss will make my leg all better", she assured him with a smile before glancing at her bag. "Hey, can I request something a little weird of you? I think you owe me a favor anyway", she stated with a wink.

Oh, good. She wasn't dead. Not that he'd thought he'd killed her. But.. still. Jake let out an audible sigh of relief and he relaxed visibly when she reassured him that she was fine, and he dropped back on the sand, ignoring the fact that it would take forever to get all the sand out of his thick hair. "Okay, if you're sure,." He drawled as he sat slowly back up, looking up at her. Wow, she was pretty, too. At least she was being kind about it. The sad fact was that it was bound to happen again, if not over her, then over anything or everything else. And did she say a kiss would make it better? It sounded like that, and immediately Jake's cheeks flushed a red darker than her hair, but he couldn't help but smile even wider anyway.
"Well, I don't have an ice bag on me, but I'm sure I could manage the second half," he found himself saying, and then he laughed at himself, not exactly sure where that had come from. After all, he had just fallen on top of her. This was probably not the time for jokes.. but try telling that to Jake, who found that he had a joke for nearly every occasion anyway, it happened more than often that he'd crack a joke, and would get really dirty looks for it. Unless they knew him well, and then he'd get smacked around, which he was actually, really used to, but he didn't really mind, mostly it didn't hurt. Unless it was a really stupid joke..
But before he could get very lost in thought about his own idiotic jokes, she continued, and he crossed his legs Indian style as he listened, and he nodded ecstatically. "If it's the kiss to make it better, you don't even have to ask.." He grinned and chuckled at himself, and then shook his head, holding his hands up and waving them in the air a little. "Okay, that was all, I promise. I do owe you for being such a gracious little lady." And no matter how tall she was (which he didn't know because she was laying down when he tripped over her), she would most likely always be a little lady to Jake, with a height like his. "So what can I do for you, ma'am?" He asked, tilting his head to the side and studying her face. To be honest, Jake wasn't really all that worried about her request.
I mean, how weird could weird really be? |
