[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300] OUTFIT | OPEN | LALALALALA Thalia hadn't signed up for the sock hop. She had considered it, but had eventually decided it wasn't worth finding herself a partner or a sponsor, she'd just go and hang out, for fun. Which, was what she was doing right now. She was dressed in a classic silk green dress and black shoes, with a pearl necklace and earrings, and her blonde hair was tucked up into a bun, and she was swaying softly to the music, smiling and enjoying watching the couples. She'd been talking to a friend a moment earlier, but he'd had to take a call and she'd been left alone. Which she honestly didn't mind very much. She liked being able to just watch the couples, it was incredibly adorable if you asked her. Thalia loved fifties movies, and this was like being right in one herself. She had also always loved the annual dance competition ever since she was a little girl growing up in Capeside. It always held special memories for her, even though by now they were rather melancholy, the reason for at least half of those memories was on the other half of the world by now, Thalia was still in Capeside like she'd always known she would be, she had no desire to really leave, maybe- maybe- travel for a little but Capeside would always be her home, where she'd come to at the end of the day. She had a soft spot for it. Though many would argue, Thalia was made of soft spots. But Thalia couldn't help it if she was a naturally nurturing and caring person, after all. Though she did have a tendency of spoiling people rotten, with her people pleasing attitude. She just liked to make people happy, that was all. Of course, that left not nearly enough time for herself, almost every moment of time in her life was spent taking care of someone else, were it her clients or her best friend or her family. Down time was not something she often had, but complaining about it wasn't something she did often anyway- not unless she was just teasing. So having this little time to herself at the sock hop was really very calming for her, for that very reason, not having to worry about anyone else, if just for this moment. For the first time in a long time she had her cell phone off- she was pretty sure everyone knew where she was and she had no desire to ruin her own evening with a business call when this only happened once a year. She'd only missed the dance competition one year that she could remember- the year she got the chicken pox. And she still would have insisted on coming- except her mother wouldn't let her out of bed. Otherwise, it was not her idea that she missed it. |
