-- SAMSON LANCE HONEYCUTT !
-- NAME: Samson Lance Honeycutt. -- NICKNAMES: Sam, Sammy, Son, Sonny. -- AGE & BIRTHDAY: Nineteen & May 22nd. -- BIRTH PLACE: Capeside. -- ORIENTATION: Heterosexual. -- OCCUPATION & SCHOOL GRADE: College student & aspiring writer. -- PLAYED BY: Xavier Samuel.
-- PERSONALITY !
-- LONER: Sam was never really great at talking to people. He'd always find himself saying the wrong thing, and having everyone think he was either self centered or just weird. So after a while, he just stopped trying. He's too shy to really talk to people, too awkward to keep much of a conversation going, except with his family. He's mostly just too smart for his own good, and he's sort of diagnosed himself with having a little bit of Asperger's syndrome, he means well, but when it comes to socialization of any kind, he is usually very lost. He'd always just sort of lean on his sister for help when it came to that.
-- ANGRY: Ever had one of those days where you just feel like punching everything in sight, wanting to do something but not being able to do anything at all? - Well, then, welcome to Sam's life. Having a little sister who very well may be dying and not being able to do anything about it, his other little sister being a match and having to go through bone marrow transplants. He just can't stand it. He never could, and all the time he feels like he's going to just spontaneously combust right then and there. Of course, it's never happened, but the feeling is always just there. No one ever told him how serious his sister's leukemia really was. And now it's worse. And he can't understand why no one thought it was relevant to tell him about it, and it makes him feel so angry and he can't even understand why.
-- SERIOUS: Not to say that Sam doesn't have a sense of humor, but the majority of the time, he comes across as very solemn. He doesn't understand a lot of jokes because he takes everything very literally, but then he'll re explain the joke for his own understanding and then he'll laugh. His seriousness could be misconstrued as unfriendliness, but he isn't, only very shy, and very pensive, and very literal. But at least he tries, most of the time, to stay on the same page as everyone else. He could almost be thought of as almost monotonous, the way he conducts himself, and everyone seems to get very surprised when he shows a good deal of emotion, which bothers him.
-- LOVES: His family, anthropology, logic, Star Wars, Lord of The Rings, hot chocolate, snow, rain, reading, writing, airplanes, comic books. -- HATES: Dumb jokes, his sister's illness, long and drawn out conversations, meaningless things, being conceived as rude, getting haircuts, itchy blankets, wet socks, cynics, being tickled.
-- HISTORY !
Samson Lance was the second child born to Ben and Heidi Honeycutt, almost four years after his older brother Spencer. Even though he was older than Ruby, who was born two years after Sam, she always seemed to take care of him. Especially after Milly, the youngest, was born. Soon after, she was diagnosed with cancer, and Ben and Heidi were completely immersed in keeping her healthy. Which, of course, Sam could understand, but it still hurt that they couldn't or they wouldn't pay quite as much attention to him. He was always a slightly lonely chid, but he found ways to keep himself occupied so that he wouldn't be under their feet. Reading was the number one thing that kept his attention for extended periods of time. Even though this made him considered 'weird' or 'geeky' amongst his peers.
But Sam never found himself actually caring about that all that much. People weren't really his strong point, anyway. Anyone outside of his family, Samson didn't really talk to, unless he had a good reason. It was too hard, he was already considered a weirdo amongst everyone, and he talked so quickly and rationally and he had a very extensive vocabulary for such a young man, it was just .. too hard to make people understand him. So he didn't try anymore.
The majority of his high school years was his mostly just getting the best grades he possibly could, he set such high standards for himself, and he graduated top of his class, even skipping freshman year. And now, he is a junior in college, majoring in forensic anthropology and minoring in creative writing, only recently learning of Milly's cancer coming back. To be honest, he is furious with everyone for not telling him that it was this serious, and he has no idea what he's doing with himself anymore. He's just angry all the time and he doesn't know why and he doesn't like it, either. He keeps going on these awful little tirades where the smallest little thing sets him off and he feels terrible about it afterwards because it isn't about him in the end, is it? It's about Milly, and she never asked for this. Everything is just .. confusing, and awful, he actually could not explain it if you'd ask it of him.
