Blair was bored. That, however, wasn’t a surprise. Blair always seemed bored. Nothing was ever enough to satisfy her. It took something fairly fabulous to hold Blair’s attention longer than a few minutes. Even when the blonde was watching her favourite TV shows, the youth needed to be doing other things at the same time; texting, IMing, eating, painting her nails.. Anything just to keep her busy. Even as a child, she could never sit still. Teachers are always telling her to stop fiddling and just pay attention. Really though, she always found that mildly insulting. Who were they to suggest that her brain was so small she couldn’t do two things at once? She was actually a world class multi-tasker, so it wasn’t her fiddling that stopped her from concentrating in class. You could blame that on the fact that most of her classes were just plain boring. Which to be fair wasn’t Blair’s fault at all. Maybe if they taught something useful in school.
To be fair, it was still early. The party wasn’t a flop.. It just, hadn’t started yet. Or well, it had started, but nothing was interesting yet. Everyone knew that if the invitation said eight, the party really didn’t get exciting till at least half past nine. Normally, Blair wouldn’t have been caught dead turning up on-time. However, if you were hosting the party, you really needed to be there. Sure, it was at Flick’s house, but that was just the venue. The blonde had spearheaded all the organizations. Which, by the way, basically just involved creating an event on Face-book. Flick’s house was already pretty well set-up for the party, so nothing needed to be done there and she wasn’t the sort of girl to cook, so all she had done was open a few bags of snacks in the hopes other people brought better food. Someone would bring some wings or pizza or something right?
The most effort in getting ready had gone into Blair’s appearance. She’d worked her hair into loose curls, and then let them fall around her shoulders wherever they fell. A few curls pinned away from her face. Eyes lined in dark liner as always, and limps plumped up with gloss. She’d painted her nails in a dark electric blue colour for the evening, to match the blue heels on her feet. Grey dress covered her torso and upper thighs. A short-sleeved black sequin jacket covered her shoulders. Keeping out the cool night air. No doubt once she warmed up a bit with dancing and that special party buzz she’d ditch the jacket though. Whenever that would be. God, she was so bored. Hopefully some cool people showed up soon before she lost her freaking mind. She guessed most people were still at home primping though. Good, they should primp. If you wanted to come to a party hosted by Blair, you had to look slamming.
Fiddling with one of the necklaces hanging down her chest, Blair moved to the stereo. Who put this crap on anyway? It was far too mellow for a party. Stopping mid song, and ignoring the mumbling of the people who were already at the party, the blonde put on a new CD. The mixed track disk that she and her friends had been listening to when they were getting ready. Just a bunch of high energy tracks that put the four in a good mood. Hopefully that would set the mood a little more. Once the music had started playing, Blair turned the volume up and went to collect her drink from the coffee table. Downing it in one go, the blonde screwed up her nose. Gross, what even was that? Last time she let Flick get her a drink.

Avia was going to her sister’s party, something she wasn’t very proud of but it was party so she wasn’t about to say no. The blonde adored parties and it was nice to be just going to one rather than playing at it, it certainly lowered the girls stress levels. Avia wasn’t sure why she was pandering to her sister’s needs but she’d invited some of her college friends and she’d got some alcohol, though she was sure her sister and Flick had got that area covered. She wasn’t really sure why she’d decided to come but in reality she just had nothing better to do than hang around with a bunch of high schoolers, something she didn’t really want to admit. She was getting ready, something she spent quite a lot of time doing before she went anywhere, she wanted to look flawless. The girls hair was curled as per usual and had a ribbon through it, which wasn’t really a surprise. After finishing her hair the girl put her dress one, a one shoulder feather print dress with a sleeve that covered her whole other arm, it was different but not too in your face, it was just Avia. She smiled and put towel around her shoulders as she applied her makeup, she didn’t want to mess up her outfit before she’d even got to the party. Applying makeup was a pretty normal activity for the blonde and she was pretty good at due to her practice, she completed her foundation and blusher before starting on her eyes, applying thick liquid eyeliner to her top lids, which was her signature style.
She grabbed her bag and headed outside where a taxi waited, she felt stupid getting a taxi on her own but taking a car would mean that she couldn’t drink and there was no way that was happening. Even though she was heading to a party of a girl still in highschool Avia was in a surprisingly good mood, she knew something about Blair and the little sister was none the wiser, she was in the perfect position. Some may say it’s wrong to attempt to black mail your own sister but to Avia it was what needed to be done, her sister owed her, she wanted her to keep quiet and so Avia deserved some things in return, especially as keeping it a secret would be harming her other sister. She was in a sisterly predicament and the best way for her to proceed was in whichever way was going to get her what she wanted. A lot of people called Avia manipulative and those people would have her completely spot on, it’s something she started doing at a very young age and it kind of stuck, now Avia has no idea whether her friends hang around because they like her or because they are scared of getting on the wrong side. That fact scares Avia which is why she keeps doing what she knows best, she worries that if she drops the tough act she will lose all those around her because they will have nothing to worry about, she’d rather than fake friends than none at all.
The taxi pulled up at the house and Avia paid the man and grabbed her stuff before walking the familiar route to Flick’s house. Avia couldn’t count the amount of time she’d been at Flick’s house, whether it be to pick her sister up or for a party where the two families had gotten together, she knew it well. She opened the front door not bothering to knock and then put her bag of drink in the cupboard that she knew most people wouldn’t find, she didn’t want anyone to steal it. She took a bottle with her toward the kitchen and put it in a draw after pouring herself a glass and mixing it with some coca-cola. She sipped it as she headed into the living room, she really hoped more people were going to arrive; this place seemed a little bit dead at the moment. Just as the thought of leaving crossed her mind Avia noticed her sister standing alone and she bee lined toward her, “and to think I actually invited college guys to this” she said, complaining with her first sentence. The girls had a mixed relationship, Avia was jealous of Blair because she was the baby of the family while Avia was stuck being the middle child.

Blue eyes scanned the room for something new to drink. Really, she couldn’t make up her mind what she wanted. She could get one of the tasty but weak premixed drinks, or she could go for something made herself that was stronger and get her buzzed faster, but the taste wasn’t a good. Screwing up her nose once more, she let out a low sigh. Why couldn’t she make up her mind? Heh. The question that was always bugging Blair. Why couldn’t she ever make up her mind? She was impulsive and got bored easily. Which was a pretty potent mix if you asked Blair. It stopped her from being able to ever be truly content with any decision she made in her life. Sometimes she’d flitter back and forth making no real actions either way. Other times though, her stubborn streak would quick in sand she’d follow through on her original choice even if she knew it was probably the wrong thing to do.
In fact, that’s how most of her bad decisions came about. Most of the time she knew what she was doing was stupid or going to end badly, but she couldn’t back down. It was worse when she was trying to keep up face with someone. She couldn’t explain why, but Blair’s reputation was really important to her. It was actually something that she disliked about who she was. While she could seem the sort of girl to not give a flying monkey fart about what people said about her, to those who knew her well, knew that it wasn’t the case at all. That she actually worked really hard to have people think a certain way of her. She wanted to make sure people didn’t see her as a push over- which was why she was wearing green to the traffic light party. To prove that he couldn’t be pushed around by some anonyms loser. But, that wasn’t even really the point now was it?
The sound of her sister’s voice broke through Blair’s thoughts and she whipped around to face the other blonde. Raising the eyebrow at the other girl, she took in her appearance. Heh. The dress was so typically Avia. Blair wasn’t really surprised that her sister was wearing something a little outlandish. Her middle sister had always had a flare for.. Self expression or whatever Avia wanted to call it. Giving her eyes a roll, Blair was very tempted to flip her sister off, but refrained. The older blonde was always saying things to aggravate other people and honestly Blair often wanted too slap her. “I have to be here on time because I’m the host, but couldn’t you find anything to do until the party really started? Aw, you poor thing. I had no idea your life was so boring sis.” Alright, so her response wasn’t exactly polite either, but whatever.
Looking the other girl up and down once more, Blair noticed the drink in her sister’s hand. A smile tugged on Blair’s lips as she eyed the drink. Perhaps the answer to her earlier question had just came to her by luck. Reaching out, she swiftly tugged the drink from Avia’s hands. Grinning wildly, she brought the drink to her lips and downed as much of it as she could in one go. “Mmm. Thanks for that.” She trilled, as though her sister had offered the drink willingly. “Just what I needed. You’re the best sister ever.” As she spoke, Blair brought her fingers up to her lips, only to kiss them then ‘blow’ the kiss at her sister in a rather obnoxious gesture.

Avia was drinking vodka and lemonade, her drink of choice, it just tasted like lemonade with a kick but it clouded her mind pretty quickly, far faster than those pansy drinks like Smirnoff ice. The blonde wasn’t really one to try new things, she stuck to what she knew because that was easier, she knew that vodka worked for her, it gave her the buzz but it didn’t leave her with a bad head, it was perfect. She knew that rum was a bad move for her, she’d learnt that in high school when she’d spent a night drinking rum and coke, let’s just say she didn’t score very highly in her chemistry pop quiz the following day. Avia had experimented with quite a bit of alcohol in her years but she didn’t regret a minute of it, she’d been miss popular, queen of the high school, and she’d loved it, it was where she was meant to be. College was a bit different, the clique system was gone and it left Avia a bit amiss, she didn’t know what to do without her gang of followers. Avia missed high school, everything was simple then, she was bitchy but she had friends, she didn’t have to worry about money or her life, it was all laid out for her on a silver platter, but now she was expected to make her own decisions and sort herself out.
The two sisters weren’t exactly super close, they had their differences but really it was their similarities that kept them apart. The two girls were both pretty sharp tongued and their vicious banter went between them super fast, they were too bitchy to ever really connected. Neither wanted to let their guard down and let the other in, they both had their soft moments but they didn’t want the other to see them, it was a lose lose situation. Avia was a competitive person who prided herself on her ability to knock others down, she didn’t want to let her sister win. The blonde actually missed having a sister, they’d never really been close but growing u they’d had their moments and Avia saw how other people treated their sisters and there were moments when that was all she wanted from her family. She would never let anyone see that though, she wanted to be a stand alone independent girl, she didn’t want to be known as a mushy girl who just wanted a happy family, that would definitely screw up her street cred.
She rolled her eyes as she said that she was too early, “well, I was just making sure you were prepared but I guess I’ll keep my drink to myself” she said but just as the words came form her mouth her sister removed the drink from her hand and took a sip, Avia was not impressed. She took it back and glared at the girl, “find your own” she said, trying to illustrate to her sister that she meant it. Avia wasn’t keen on people taking her drink and she was annoyed that Blair had sipped some of it. Avia hated germs, they made her skin crawl which was the exact reason she wouldn’t take another sip out of that glass, something that Blair was probably fully aware of, Avia reclaimed it purely to illustrate that she meant it. When she’d finished ‘chatting’ with her sister Avia would return the glass to the kitchen, get a new one and pour herself another drink, free from someone elses saliva. Avia had been like that since middle school, ever since a little girl backwashed into Avia’s glass and the girl drank it without realising, when she’d been told Avia had promptly been sick and since then she hadn’t shared anything food or drink related, it just creeped her out. Blair knew perfectly well that her sister hated germs. They may not have been closest siblings in the world, but Blair was observant and she knew a thing or two about her sister’s idiosyncrasies. In fact, Blair tended to take it upon herself to learn what made most people in her life tick. She wasn’t outwardly as much of a bitch as some of her other friends, but if Blair was going to do something that bugged someone.. Well, she was going to do a damned good job of it. Playing on what got to people most was always a good way to go if you wanted to make the most impact. With Avia though, it wasn’t so much that she was trying to make some sort of statement, she just.. really enjoyed working her sister up. It would be odd if Blair wasn’t trying to annoy Avia in some way or vice versa. It was just the way they were.
Watching her sister take back the glass made Blair smirk. Avia wasn’t going to drink it, and if she wasn’t such a stubborn little cow the older blonde would have given her sister the rest of the drink. But no, Avia had to take it back and make a big deal about showing her point. Blair got it. The drink was Avia’s. If that little fact actually mattered to the younger blonde though she would not have taken the drink in the first place. What did she think she was going to do by all of this? It wasn’t like Blair was likely to suddenly realize her wrong doings and apologise or anything. If that was what Avia was waiting on.. Well she’d be waiting a long time. Especially when you considered the rather obnoxious mood Blair seemed to be in. She was much more likely to take a joke much too far over the line right now than she was to say she was sorry.
Smiling sweetly at the older girl, Blair reached out and grabbed the drink right back. “Actually, sister dearest I much prefer yours.” Poking her tongue out, Blair brought the drink to her lips and downed the rest of it in two quick gulps before she tossed the cup gently towards the couch. She didn’t want to break anything in Flick’s house, but she figured that action would probably annoy her sister more than anything else. Blue eyes glanced around for a moment before they found Avia again. “You know, I’m actually starting to wonder if you have any friends. I don’t see any college people here and you came alone. College must be pretty lonely Avie. I know. Why don’t you make friends with Daddy’s new bimbo. She’s what? A college senior. Maybe you could like, join her circle of slutty friends?”

Avia hated how well Blair knew her, sure the girls hardly spent anytime together but they still knew each other pretty well and it made it harder for Avia to mess with Blair, she knew her to well. What Avia didn’t understand was that Blair was supposed to be the ‘baby’ of the family yet she was just as mean and bitchy as Avia, it just wasn’t so apparent. Avia didn’t care if people thought she was a bitch, it meant they knew who she was whereas Blair was more careful, which was why she got labelled as the sweet one, something that just made Avia more annoyed and therefore more bitchy. It was really her family who had created the monster that most called Avia, but there were obviously parts of her personality that were ground into her, nothing could have prevented her from turning out a bit like she was now. She hoped her music was one of those programmed behaviours, she hated the idea that it was her parents who instilled the love of music within her, she wanted that to be hers, she didn’t want to have to thank her family when she collected her MOBO award, it was going to be down to her.
She watched as her sister took the drink back and finish it before chucking it to the couch, something else which annoyed Avia. Now, this was something that most people didn’t even know about Avia, Blair wasn’t even aware but Avia hated it when things were in the wrong place. It didn’t bother her if it was messy as long as her shoes were in their designated pile but the glass on the couch, well that was another story. There was the fact that the little bit of liquid could get onto Flick’s couch or someone would drunkenly sit on it and it could break, those were the kind of things that went through Avia’s head, but no-one was any the wiser. She moved her eyes from the glass and fixed them back on her sister, who really could have taken a little more care about what she was wearing, when you were the host you were supposed to turn heads because of how gorgeous you looked, people would just be wondering what bargain shop the girl had bought her tacky dress from.
The blonde rolled her eyes as her sister asked if she’d actually invited anyone, “you think I’d tell them to come this early, I’m not looking for social suicide, I mean look at this place” she said making a point to how empty the house seemed to be. She pretended to be sick when the other blonde mentioned her Dad’s new girlfriend, she hated the idea of it, the girl was closer to being Avia’s friend than mother. “don’t even get me started on that piece of trash, it seems we may actually agree on something” she said, it was a surprise that the girls would ever have the same opinion but that girl that their dad called his girlfriend was certainly something they could agree on, she’d regret coming anywhere near them if she decided she wanted to meet her new guys children, the Alderidge’s wouldn’t let her off easy. Avia had invited college people but she’d told them to pre drink and they wouldn’t be arriving for a few hours, to be honest she’d only arrived early to see if Blair or Flick needed any help, she’d brought alcohol but the way that Blair had behaved meant that she’d lost out on that one.
