-- Douchebags who make fun of him or pick on him....or even beat him up that he might stand up to later on.[/b] Other than those specific things, Dexter is wide open for any plot things you have in mind (aside from heavy duty romance). He's a really considerate guy and he goes out of his way to make people feel comfortable. He gets shy around extremely attractive people, but that doesn't mean he can't be good friends with those people. Please bring me your ideas!  holly lane parkerkick-ass carpenter Aaaand, this is Holly. She's taking over the woodshop teacher's position at the high school and she's a tough woman. She's a bit on the younger side for a teacher at 28, but she's been working in this field since she was sixteen. She likes to tease, is a bit spontaneous, and has a bit of a temper on her. She's no doubt got people who have a problem with her attitude...she's bound to have SOME friends...and though she's taken care of in the future romance department, it's more than possible she has a few exes laying around. She had the awful tendency to date losers and even after she started moving on from that phase, she never let a relationship get TOO far. So, some ideas: --THE HUNTER FAMILY : Richard Hunter would be the man who owns the home interiors shop that Holly works at whenever she's not teaching shop at the high school and I was thinking he could have semi-adopted her. They'd have a teenager for a kid, one that Holly will have known for 6 years. She's not really part of their family, but they invite her to Christmas and Thanksgiving and they get her gifts on her birthday...it's the closest thing to a family she knows. They are wide open for plot just in case you want a new character, why not make them a Hunter and throw them in the family?
-- A few exes that either had major problems or were fine, normal guys that just didn't get Holly. Either way, it ended...and probably ended faster than they originally thought.
-- A roommate/ friends in general

And lastly we have Thatcher Jones who is a high school senior who's interested in becoming a composer/song writer. He can sing and play a few different instruments, but rather than having to deal with the pressures of being a recording artist, he'd rather create awesome songs that far more awesome people can sing. He's extremely energetic, bright, talks a lot, has a black hole for a stomach, and is completely head over heels for his best friend Ruby Honeycutt. He's bound to have quite a few friends from high school (even if Ruby is clearly his best friend, there's no argument there), he gets along with teachers and most people...He's not exactly super popular and he's clearly not interested in any girl but Ruby. His biggest enemy at the moment is Brad...otherwise he doesn't seem to hate on anyone. The Jones family is pretty wealthy because his step-dad runs a huuuge business, so any other wealthy people have probably rubbed elbows with the family. So! Some things for Thatch:
--A musical mentor of some kind. Or other musicians that he somehow gets to know and forms friendships with-- no matter the age.
-- high school friends
-- someone to help him deal with his feelings for Ruby because it's honestly starting to kill him inside

KILL & DEX
Killian isn't really the nerdy type (he's more of the sarcastic, likable dickhead type) - but he's a huge comic book buff. They should be good friends at the least if he works at the shop. I kind of like the idea of Killian having a friend who's more reliable then just some party acquaintances.

these two could definitally be friends, Poppy works at the comic book store and hopes to someday work in comic books (that is if she ever gets the balls to show someone else her work), they could at least be work friend or something

KILL&DEX: Haaah, Kill is the type of guy who Dex was afraid of back in high school, the rough and tumble angry guys who usually broke his glasses and then stuffed him into a trashcan before rolling it down a hill. I could see Dex being really scared of him at first until they get to talking about video games and comics and he finds out Killian isn't going to beat him into a pulp. Plus, Dex is not a party hardy sort of guy, so he can be that solid friend away from that crazy whirligig of booze and women. Since Killian is pretty loyal, he can stick by Dex and he can rely on Dex to do whatever he can to bail Kill out of a situation if he needs it. <3
POPPY&DEX: I think they'd be good friends! Sort of the little sister he never had, his one inside connection to the feminine mystique. Penny is way out of his league (not that he's ever had experience in any type of league) so he's going to need all the tips on the female gender he can get. Also, they could bond over drawing comics and wheedle her into showing him some of her stuff. Yes? :D

-----------------------------dexter and josiah I don't know that they'd ever be best buds, but I can see an interaction going something like Josiah stepping in on the street or something while someone is picking on Dexter. Then they could be all "Ho, thanks  " "Yeah, no problem " and then that's all I got. xD But just like this, hey I know who you are but I don't really know you relationship.
[/font] -----------------------------holly and josiah Holly sounds pretty BA. And I like her. I can see her and Josiah getting into interesting discussions or something. Maybe if she came into the bar he works at? But other than that, the age difference is likely to keep them from meeting each other in any other context.

They don't have much in common at all, do they? xD Other than being the same age, that is...Honestly, Josiah is the type of person that makes Dexter feel uncomfortable and very, very small because he's beautiful, smart, charming...and Dexter isn't any of those things. But Killian, his roommate, is a bartender as well so it might happen once or twice that Dex ends up going to a bar and then clinging to it for dear life because the pressure of being social is making his tongue swell up in his head. :D They could be friendly with each other, at least? Distracting bullies from punching him in the nose also wins Josiah many Friend Points.
HOLLY&JOSIAH
Holly goes to the bar sometimes, but she doesn't make a regular habit of getting drunk. She'll sometimes get one drink...or she'll just hang around and drink non-alcoholic stuff just because she's used to the atmosphere of a bar. In general, alcohol and heavy machinery don't mix so she's not a party hardy gal. He is pretty young in comparison to her...young enough to be a little brother. xD This may be out of left field, but maybe she can sort of look out for him like an older sister sometimes? I don't know why, I just think it would be amusing for someone to start harassing Josiah, calling him names, etc...and for Holly to take them out back and punch them out. >> *cough* Anyways.. yeah, they could probably talk about a lot of things.
THATCH&JOSIAH
Sadly, I can't think of anything because Thatcher is a minor and therefore not allowed in a bar... >> and he's young, too, he probably wouldn't see Josiah around anywhere.

He'll definitely just try to be nice to the kid anyway, since he's cool like that... but may end up just coming across as even more intimidating. WHOO, counter productive.

Josiah likes to play big brother and has very few people that will be big siblings to him, so he'd love Holly to death for taking that role.
