-- BRIDGET FURIA POND !
-- NAME: bridget furia pond -- NICKNAMES: bardie, bee, bridge, fury, red, ginger kid, etc. -- AGE & BIRTHDAY: seventeen, November twentieth -- BIRTH PLACE: Inverness, Scotland, UK -- ORIENTATION: heterosexual -- OCCUPATION & SCHOOL GRADE: junior, works part time as a barista -- PLAYED BY: Karen Gillan
-- PERSONALITY !
-- CLUMSY: Oh dear does this really count as a personality trait? Well anyhow in a lot of way Bridget is clumsy, she’s often falling off of things and tripping on completely flat surfaces, don’t ask how she manages to do so. She also has the occasional issue of stumbling over her words, when she was a kid she has a severe case of being tongue tied which then turned into a stutter out of sheer embarrassment and fear of getting tongue tied, she’ll still stutter from time to time, but mostly if she feels that coming on she just stops talking. Generally she’s a pretty good speaker now though. Often still she can be found dropping, tripping over or generally destroying things and herself. Let’s just say her “funny bone” had become immune to being bumped.
-- ODD: A pretty simple way of explaining her is odd, Bridget often will begin dancing when there isn’t any music within hearing distance, just because a song is almost always playing in her head; yes she supplies herself with a soundtrack. She’s obsessed with the forties, fifties and early sixties for the simple fact that she loves the fashion and feel of that era, when men wore page boy hats all the time and suits and suspenders. She’s a bit of a contradictions sometimes in the way that she can be very snotty or very sweet, she has a snarky personality, and isn’t easily fooled by people’s tricks, yet can be extremely gullible at the same time. And sometimes she’s just simply odd. This causes some people to stray away from her because she’s a “weird-o”.
-- WITTY: As previously mentioned she quite a snarky girl in her humor, she have a very witty and dry sense of humor. Her extensive reservoir of comebacks leaves her rarely speechless or without some retort. All her life she’s approached things with such a sarcastic humor that people find it difficult to tell if she’s joking or not; her aunt is not fond of that aspect of her personality. Though she may seem like she’s all sarcastic deadpan humor she’s rarely without a smile and is quick to laugh at others jokes (if she finds them funny of course). She’s very playful with people and doesn’t discriminate due to status. Though she finds it difficult to ignore reputations, especially when people work so hard to maintain them.
-- DISTRUSTING: Bridget’s major flaw would have to be her distrustfulness, she has an extremely hard time letting people in. In her experience letting people in means that you will get hurt in some way and she’s very protective of not only her heart, but her general feelings. Often she’ll put on the front that she doesn’t care about anything and that she’s very hard and tough that nothing can touch her. She’s quite terrified of getting hurt though. Due to this Bridget doesn’t have a lot of truly close friends that really get to see her for who she is and that she feels she can confide in.
-- LOVES: coffee, her red hair, vintage, the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s eras, creativity, art of all kinds, movies, music, swing sets, thunderstorms, bowling!, mini golf, playing football (soccer), swimming, biking, pecan pie, pistachios, walnuts, pretty much every kind of nut, ice cream and whatever else she decides tickles her fancy
-- HATES: mental health facilities, school (even though she does well), politics, racism, discrimination, people who believe being popular in high school means you’re allowed to treat people like dirt, slutty people, general nastiness, drinking from the same cup or eating from the same utensil as someone else, wasps, birds, cliques, etc.
-- HISTORY !
The little girl named to be strong and full of fury was born in Inverness, Scotland. Bridget Furia Pond grew up quite normally except for the fact that she was always a very inventive little girl, she’d make up stories and character; imaginary friends. Mostly this was a result of being a little girl with no friends, but she loved her imaginary ones and constantly spent hours talking to them, playing hide and seek basically what any normal little girl would do with any normal friend. Her parents didn’t find this alarming in her younger years, after all it was perfectly normal for a little girl right?
At the age of seven her parents decided to move from Scotland to Yorkshire, England. All the kids at school teased her for being Scottish always telling her to go fry something. Thankfully Her imaginary friends moved with her or else she just couldn’t bear living there. Though as she got older her parents began to worry that these “friends” weren’t going away. So one day her mother asked little Bridget to tell her about her friends, what they looked like etc. so of course the little girl did in quite vivid detail. Her mother began to worry even more, but decided to wait another couple of years. Though at the age of twelve Bridget was still quite close with her friends. So her parents decided to check her into a mental health facility in fear that she had early onset Schizophrenia.
It took the doctors quite a while to get Bridget to admit that she knew her friends weren’t real, once she realized that her parents had locked her up she grew quite resentful of them and didn’t understand why everyone felt the need to tell her that her friends weren’t real. She’d known all along, but she didn’t like the idea of not having any friends either, so she conjured her own up in her head. The Doctors finally decided she was just a creative little girl and discharged her from the facility. Though she knew she’d never trust her parents with anything ever again Bridget also found it difficult to trust others as well. For the next year and a half Bridget was enrolled in sports soccer to be more precise, where she found she was quite good and actually began to make some friends.
When she was fifteen her parents decided to move once more, but this time to an entirely different country. Capeside Massachusetts, right away she was thrown into a new school with new challenges, there was a surprising language barrier to figure out, it didn’t take her long, but never the less people found her strange for it. She was also again enrolled in what the Americans call soccer instead of football and has played quite well becoming a star player on the team, though this does not help her to be popular considering that most of the school could care less about soccer. She’s now in her junior year and aspiring to become a writer… of fiction.
