Kate covered her mouth with the back of her hand to cover the yawn, as she opened the, fairly heavy, front door to her favourite little café and stepped inside. She was exhausted, after being woken up at half past two in the morning by her daughter shaking her shoulder, clutching her favourite bear to her chest and complaining for bad dreams. Again. The little girl seemed to be having trouble sleeping for the past week, always having the same dream, that she was having a tea party with her dolls and her mother in a wooded area when a ‘big scary monster’ came out of nowhere and started chasing both girls all around the woods, separating them. Once, she realised the monster had gone, the child started searching for her mother but couldn’t find her. This dream resulted in the little girl waking up every night, terrified and running to her parents room to get into bed with them. Holding onto Kate the rest of the night.
So, Kate was in desperate need of caffeine, after getting very little sleep, she wouldn’t mind about letting her daughter spend the night after a nightmare, the only problem was, she kicked in her sleep, and now Kate’s legs were black and blue with nocturnal attacks. So, she’d left the little girl to spend the day with her Grandfather, something the little girl loved doing, he would spoil her rotten, so that later, when Kate went to pick her up, she’d be on a major sugar and Disney high. Perfect. Ah well, maybe he’ll wear her out enough to sleep through the night. Probably not, but you never know.
Stepping up to the counter, Kate smiled at the petite blonde smiling back at her, as she ordered a large cappuccino, paying the money and stepping over to an empty table, snagging on with the comfy chairs, to wait for the drink to be bought to her. God, she needed to talk to an adult, to someone who would talk about something other than princesses and their desire for a pony because Michelle at school, her parents got her one. Yes, she had Marco, but since they had started trying for a baby, it felt like most of their conversations were about vaginal mucus or when she was next ovulating. Offering the same blonde another smile and a quiet, “thanks,” her gaze fell to the cup before her. Okay, she knew she shouldn’t be drinking caffeine if she was trying to get pregnant, but she also knew that she had given up a lot of things already, and when she got pregnant, she would give it up... Or well, she’d try to. Kate was the victim of a pretty hardcore caffeine addiction, after all.
After yawning once more, Kate lifted the cup to her lips and blew, in an attempt to cool it faster and avoid burning her tongue- that was the last thing she needed right now. No sleep, bruised legs and a burnt tongue. Before long, the temptation became to strong; the drink was probably at a decent temperature anyway! So, Kate took a large sip and.... winced. Okay, maybe she should have waited a little longer she thought absently, as she took another sip of the hot liquid.

[/b] she greeted her friend as she walked over and joined Kate at her table. ”You look tired. Even more tired than me.” Sarah knew that Kate had a kid. So, she just assumed that her kid kept her up all of this time. Sarah taught teenagers, and she thought they were a handful. She couldn’t imagine raising a kid. However, when she did imagine having kids, she always imagined having them with Bryan. But, of course, that dream would probably never happen. She lost contact with Bryan when they broke up all of those years ago and she doesn’t know what has happened to him. ”How is your daughter? I’m assuming she’s the one who’s keeping you up at night.” Sarah was almost jealous of Kate’s life. She seemed to be settled down nicely. [/size][/ul][/blockquote]
