I'm a mess in a dress
[/font] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Can't show up on time [/font][/right][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] Sophie struggled most of the time when would speak to anyone, it was like lately everything she said would scream in her head. 'Fake! you're a fake! everyone can read right through you! try again you're failing!' and in turn would make her a little uneasy and think about what she was saying when before it just came out of her. So she was becoming slightly more quiet than she normally was.
Lately, sadly, this newly teen lived on the moments when she'd hear the door slam which in her mind meant 'time to escape!' even if it were only for a few hours it was still a tiny window. Currently she was sitting in the bathroom, on the floor. She did it this time, she'd locked her self in it because she didn't know where else to go in the middle of his 'drunk rampage.' She'd listen to him slam stuff around cursing about her, throwing what she called a hissy fit and bang on the door a few times and then that was in he walked out of the house slamming the door.-Her most current opportunity.
Hoping up off of the ground which was more of a scramble and a fail falling back down because she was trying to hurry. Sophie looked at her face in the mirror cursing her self now at the black eye that was forming on her eye, she grabbed her make-up, the stuff she lived by and quickly covered it up. Her arm had his clearly shown hand print like bruise on it, from just a few seconds ago but she didn't have time to carefully apply make-up to it so she grabbed her jacket and ran out the door with her diary, like always and began walking up the street hugging her arms close to her chest.
She went on walking for to her what seemed like a century until she reached the park, Cape side park. She walked over to a spot that was under a tree and she sat down softly in the spot trying really hard to not make her self seen. She'd forgotten her phone was in her back pocket and by accident it dialed someone, who happened to be Sophie. She had just spoken to her the other day but since she'd sat on her phone it had diled her and she hadn't realized it just yet. "Sophie you are the most disrespectful little girl in the whole world" she mimic what her father had said to her and a few tear slipped out of her eyes but she wiped them away but her voice had cracked from it. "If I am why do I fuckin' not say anything!" she scream now but covered her mouth rather fast because a few people turned to look at her, she showed them a small embarrassed smile and then slid her phone out, seeing Sophie was on the phone she quickly closed it and sent her a text.
"Hi Miss Sophie...Sorry, my phone's being weird and I was reading a book. That's what you were hearing. I'm at the park, I was wondering if you could come down just for a little bit please? I promise I wont be annoying or anything, I'll be quiet I just want to be with you for a little bit." -What Sophie said wasn't way to uncommon. The blond like to just be close to someone who cared about her, even if that person has stuff to do she would be quiet, she just wanted to be with them.
Even if it would save my life

Sophie had been bathing Holly when her phone had rung. The mother and daughter had spent the morning in the kitchen painting, so needless to say, Holly was covered in water-based paints. Sophie only ever used fully washable water based paints with her daughter. It was much easier to clean up after woods that way. Besides, it made the bath water colourful which pleased Holly. Even though her daughter had started swimming lessons, and the water wasn’t very deep, Sophie always made it a point not to leave her alone in the bath. Since her phone had been left in the kitchen, the call had gone to message bank. Which was probably a good thing for young Sophie. However, as the text beeped, the mother thought it was wise to take her clean little water baby out of the bath and see who was trying to contact her. In case it was something important. Wrapping a towel around the little girl, she lifted her out of the bath. “Out you pop, time to get you dressed before you catch a cold.” Holly didn’t seem to pleased with this, but instead of throwing a fit, merely sniffed and jutted out her bottom lip in a pout.
Laughing softly, the young woman just shook her head at her daughter’s dramatic behaviour. She was used to it by now. Instead she just let out the water and carried the little girl out of the bathroom. Setting her down in the hall, Sophie dried her off, before giving her a quick hug. “Now, off you pop to pick out some warm clothes. Mamma will be in to help in just a moment.” She watched as Holly agreed, and giggled her way down the hall. Holly simply adored being allowed to choose her own clothes. Though Sophie often used her veto mother powers if they were not weather appropriate or just really did not match. Though, sometimes when they weren’t going out anywhere, she did let her run around the house in any un-matching thing she wanted. As long as she wasn’t too hot or too cold of course. Holly hadn’t really grasped the idea that a skirt wasn’t going to keep your legs warm. Still though, she was still young and had time to learn such valuable lessons like that. Right now, she just liked to wear what was pretty and ‘princess clothes’ as she had dubbed anything that was girly or frilly or sparkly.
Making her way into the kitchen, Sophie picked up her phone. A missed call and a text from Sophie Wilson. The woman let out a gentle sigh. She’d known the little girl for the longest time. The poor thing had been through so much, and was still suffering because of her father’s pent up grief and alcohol abuse. Sure, Sophie had reported Mr. Wilson to child services, but he always seemed to make promises to them, and keep them up just long enough for things to seem okay again. It frustrated Sophie that the child was still with him, but she wasn’t her case worker, and it wasn’t her place to make such choices. She had just been her student counsellor at school, and had referred her onto a psychologist. However the younger Sophie hadn’t liked that idea, so Sophie had agreed to keep seeing her. She’d even made herself available to the child after she left her job due to expecting her own. Reading the text, Sophie bit her lip before calling. “Come on Holls, lets get dressed and go to the park.” She sent a quick reply to the girl, letting her know that she’d be there in about fifeteen or so minutes, before slipping her phone into her pocket and going to find Holly.
Once both mother and daughter were suitably dressed, and a few snacks had been packed, Sophie loaded her daughter into the car, and took off in the direction of the park. It was a short drive really, which was good, since she’d already kept the poor girl waiting while she convinced Holly that if she wanted to wear a skirt, she had to wear her thick purple stockings under it. It didn’t take long to get there, and find a park, so before they knew it, Sophie and Holly were out of the car, Holly on Sophie’s hip, setting off to find the young teenager. Sophie spotted her not far off under a tree, and smiled. Picking up her pace, she walked towards her. “Hey there.” She said brightly, setting Holly down, and the bag that was on her shoulder. “Everything alright?” She knew it probably wasn’t, but she wanted to give the girl an opening to talk about it if she wanted. If not, then they’d just enjoy the spring sunshine until those rain clouds Sophie could see rolled in, and they found a dry place to go.

I'm a mess in a dress
[/font] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Can't show up on time [/font][/right][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] 'You're okay, there's nothing wrong with you. Don't make them believe differently" she said in her mind pulling her diary out onto her lap and began writing in it slowly. Although the young teen really was having a hard time concentrating, she just didn't understand why her father hated her so much, and why he was ruining his life so much by drinking all the time. Didn't he know that was killing his liver? She already knew he was to stupid to get anything though.
Sighing out loud she ran her hand through her hair placing one hand down onto the grass as she continued to write in her diary, a frog hopped onto her hand and she let out a small scream shaking her hand, like it was a knife piercing her hand or something, when it really just scared her. A few people stared at her and she shook her head at them and laughed pointing to the frog. At that point she knew the people just thought she was a very girly girl.
Her phone began to play the song Disturbia and she picked it up reading the text from Sophie O'Shae, it made Sophie Wilson smile and it was a real smile. She didn't know why really but not matter what was happening Sophie was able to make her happy like that. So she texted her back a smiley face and a thanks and laid her phone back on the ground continuing to write, even if it was nothing important she just liked to write, it really calmed her most of the time. Not looking up she saw a bag get set next to her and two lets of legs one being a little kids.
She looked up seeing Holly and Sophie, a smile spread across her lips. "Holly!" she said with a smile holding her arms out to the girl so she could get a hug from her. Sof loved little kids, they were so fun and full of life and didn't have a care in the world-most of the time. "Hi Miss Sophie!" she said with clear excitement in her voice. Watching Holly for a moment she finally looked up at the older Sophie she simply shook her head but her mouth spoke before she could even think of an answer. "Miss. Sophie, I'm fine, I just really wanted to hang out with you...that's all. Mike and I got into a fight and so I don't feel well" she gave a sigh but then smiled over at the older Sophie's daughter.
"Holly! I love your outfit! we both have skirts, we so match today!" she said to the little girl with a small laugh but then glanced back over at the brunette "Miss Sophie, I didn't bother you while you were busy did I? you really didn't have to come out here I just had to take a break from Mike" the young teen said this like her job was living at home and Mike was her boss, and gee was Mike hard work. Really.
Even if it would save my life

Once set down on the grass, Holly all but pounced herself at Sophie Wilson. The little curly headed girl adored the older girl. Over the years the pair had grown rather inseparable. Sophie O’Shea liked that, she felt it was good for both the girls to have a relationship with each other. Besides, she just liked seeing Sophie Wilson smile, and if Holly was the ticket to that, than the mother was going to use that to her advantage. She watched as Holly settled herself into the other girl’s lap, content to sit with her big sister of sorts. The older woman sat herself down across from the younger two slowly, looking out over the park for a moment. It had been raining on and off all week, and Sophie was hoping the weather held off for a while. Holly needed some time outside. The little girl tended to get a little rambunctious when she was cooped up inside for too long.
Sophie raised an eyebrow at the younger Sophie’s answer. Something about it made the older woman think there was more to it than that, but she wasn’t going to push. That wasn’t her style. She was more the sort to just gently coax things out of a person. Besides, she could only imagine what ‘a fight with Mike’ meant. Offering a warm smile, she nodded. “Well I hope Holly and I can make you feel better my darling.” As she spoke, Sophie opened the bag she had put down. Pulling out a few juice boxes, a container of cut up fruit, and a container of homemade cookies. “Have something to eat, dear.” She nodded towards the food and drink she was laying out in front of them. Indicating that she was to just help herself. “The fruit is really nice. I brought it yesterday from this new farmer’s market and it’s really good.”
Holly needed no invitation, reaching forward and taking half a strawberry. Putting it in her mouth and chewing before she looked down at the younger Sophie’s bare legs. “You don’t has stockings.” She noted with a mouthful of strawberry. “You upposed to wear stockings when it’s cold.” She told the older girl with a nod, before looking over at her mother and smiling. Sophie couldn’t help but laugh. Holly just loved telling others what to do. “Yes,” she agreed with a small nod. “Little girls need to listen to their mommies and wear warm clothes. Sof is old enough now though that she can choose what she wears. Even if it means she will have cold legs.” She sent the eldest of the two girls across from her a wink, before picking up a juice box and opening it for Holly. Taking a sip from it first, so it wasn’t too full. Holly had a habit of squeezing full juice boxes and making them spill.
Handing the juice box to Holly, Sophie shook her head. “Oh no of course not sweetie. We’d just finished painting so we needed something new to do an-“ Sophie paused, While Holly butted in. “I painted a princess with a sparkly dress.” Grinning at her daughter, Sophie continued. “Anyway, we needed something else to do, and the park seemed like a wonderful idea.” She gave the younger Sophie a warm smile. “And you know, you can call me anytime you need or want Sof. I’m always there for you.” It was true, Sophie would go out of her way for that girl, no matter what she needed. All she had to do was ask, and there Sophie O’Shea would be, ready to help in any way.

I'm a mess in a dress
[/font] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Can't show up on time [/font][/right][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] The moment Little Holly pounced at her Sophie caught her with a smile and a laugh both at the same time and squeezed her once, almost feeling her self about to cry once again but then let go of the girl and swallowed hard Keeping her tears back. Another way she knew to keep her self from crying was to talk and talk. Leaning her self forward a bit she whispered into Holly's ear. "Hollz I missed you!" she whispered to her and then glanced up at Sophie. Little Sophie didn't know why but she always bonded well with little kids but she and Holly? well she loved that little girl even if she didn't see her everyday of her life and she wasn't related her to. Sof still loved her...but that was possible right? you could love someone who wasn't related to you?-well she hoped so at least because she knew she didn't love Mike and she did know she loved Sophie O'Shae and Holly O'Shae.
The blond moved Holly over some on her lap, but not in a rude way or anything just so it was easier to talk to Sophie and since little Sophie wasn't that tall she couldn't see over Holly's head when she sat in her lap. Sophie saw the brunette raise her eye brows at what she said and it made Sophie look away from her for a moment which obviously rang 'Liar!' but Sof didn't think of it like that she thought Sophie probably thought she just was looking away feeling uncomfortable. "But Miss Sophie" the young teen laughed "don't you always?" she said speaking matter-a-factly. It was true though, at least in Sophie Wilson's head when she was with these two they made her feel automatically better.
“Have something to eat, dear.” Sof heard her friend say and she glanced down just ask Holly jumped up to get something, she watched her a moment laughing as she too picked up a strawberry but the minute Holly made a comment of her not wearing any stockings she quickly glanced down at her legs almost panicked. She was worried the girl had seen some bruise or something but she was merely telling her she needed stockings-at least that's what she got from it as Sophie spoke.
She placed her hands down on the sides of her legs like she was covering them but felt a lot better as Sophie O'Shae winked at her. She didn't know why but winks made her feel really good, and she couldn't help but show the older Sof the famous Sophie Wilson smile; But it came so fast and was gone so fast just like that. She couldn't help it as she registered what Sophie said it upset her slightly and watching her with the juice box it made an emotional teen even more emotional and she couldn't help but lift the little girl off her lap gently and hop up off the ground. "If they have mommies" she mumbled more to her self but she wasn't sure if Sophie had heard or not. She crossed her arms over her chest tightly almost like she was protecting her self or something. She didn't want to leave the pair, she wanted to stay but the couple years that Sophie had known little Sophie that's just one way she dealt with her sadness, like she was running away, when she just needed a minute to compose her self. "I'll be right back" her voice cracked as she spoke and she walked off a little ways and then squatted down onto the ground covering her face. She didn't want to cry, she really didn't so she was trying to make her self not cry.
"She was all I ever wanted and I took her away"
[/i] she mumbled to her self just once but that statement was her whole world, like how she felt in just one sentence. After a moment she jumped back up walking slowly back over to the pair. She wiped her tears away with the palm of her hand and she took in a deep breath. "I'm sorry," she laughed. The fakest laugh known to man kind "I dunno what's wrong with me!" she said taking a seat again letting Holly rejoin her in her lap, where she hugged her tightly once again. She had regained her composer and so was Sophie again, well the one people saw anyways. "A princess!? Hollz! I'm jealous! you still needa make me something! you promised!" she teased the girl poking her side tickling her a little. “And you know, you can call me anytime you need or want Sof. I’m always there for you.” and at that moment as she said this to Sophie, Sophie stood the three year old up for a moment and she her self like pounced onto Sophie O'Shae's lap and she wrapped her thin arms around the woman hugging her tightly like if she were to let her go that would be the end. She started to cry again but this time didn't try to stop them, she couldn't tell you how many times since she's know Sophie that she's cried on her shoulder. "I love you so much Miss Sof..." she sobbed into her and squeezed her tighter. [/blockquote][/blockquote] Even if it would save my life

Sophie let out a slow sigh. She knew it had been hard on the little girl, that she had been through a lot. However, the woman felt it was time she started actually dealing, so she could start to heal. The young girl couldn’t go through the rest of her life tearing up and running away every time someone mentioned the word mother. That may have seemed rather harsh, and it wasn’t something she was going to say to the younger Sophie (at least not like that), however it was a truth that the woman felt strongly about. Mrs. O’Shea was all about people facing their problems and working through them. Even for younger children, she wasn’t a fan of the running away notion. If you start that sort of behaviour young, it would only continue on into your adult life. Sophie was worried that the younger Sophie would never really deal with everything that had happened, and that it would impact on the rest of her life. Which was not what she wanted for the younger girl. She wanted her to lead a full, and successful life. Just like she wanted her own daughter to lead the same.
She watched Sophie Wilson out of the corner of her eye, as Holly chatted on about something or another. It wasn’t often that she ignored her daughter, the woman was just really worried about her younger name sake. As anyone would be. However, when the younger girl made her way back towards them, Sophie pushed a smile onto her features. Not letting on that she was really worried. At least not yet. She’d learnt that it was always best to take it slowly with the younger girl, or she’d grow skittish and you’d lose her. Or at least lose her attention for the topic at hand and her willingness to talk. Instead, Sophie just let the conversation continue as it had been. Holly giggled at the younger Sophie. “You tan has my princess one if you want. It’s so so pretty.” As she spoke, Holly grabbed a few more pieces of fruit, shoving them in her mouth. Sophie raised an eyebrow. “Slow down Muffin, you don’t need to eat all the fruit right now.” She warned the three-year-old. Who sighed and eyed her mother. It was hard not to laugh at Holly sometimes. Even she got tired of Sophie’s coddling.
Sophie hadn’t been expecting the hug, and it surprised her for a moment. However, she quickly wrapped her arms around the younger girl, rubbing her back gently in slow, comforting strokes. Sophie was a rather affectionate person, so this didn’t bother her much at all. “I love you too honey-pie.” She said gently, giving the younger girl a kiss to the temple. Loosening her arms, she kept them around the younger girl. Allowing her to stay in a loose embrace. The mother watched Holly sip at her Juice box, watching her mother and the girl quizzically. Sophie winked at Holly, before returning her attention back to the girl in her lap. “Sweet-heart, I know it’s hard not having a mother. It hurts a lot. But honey, you can’t run away every time someone talks about mothers..” She spoke gently, trying not to upset Sophie at all. She just wanted to get through to her that running away wasn’t the best thing she could be doing. “It will get easier though honey, I promise.” She gave her another warm squeeze. “Especially not when it’s me. You can talk to me about everything and anything okay?” Sophie offered another warm smile, rubbing the younger Sophie’s back once more.
