”True, I suppose, but if I were to throw the snakes at the humans, then they would have to deal with each other and I could run off to the safety of my house or something,” he shrugged. Actually, he didn’t have a house. So far he and his fiance had been renting a small apartment. He hoped they didn’t stay there for a long. Just enough to plan the wedding and then get it done, then they could get back to traveling. It didn’t help that she was starting to decorate the place. Women. They nested. Fletch grinned, noted the pink of her cheeks, and shook his head. ”Nope, I think I hit the nail on the head.””Maybe I find bad girls to be sexy,” he said with a shrug, chuckling at her snapping. He didn’t quite know how to respond to the second part of her statement. Hell, if he hadn’t come back engaged and found Thalia in the exact same form, he probably would have kissed her already. But he was engaged and technically she was right. ”Ouch, I’m not normal. I don’t do the whole pencil pushing, desk sitting, 9-5 bullshit everyone else does. I still, however, would be terrified of a giant fire breathing dragon. Anyone who says they wouldn’t be is a liar,” he said with a nod. Fletcher raised an eyebrow at Thalia. Reckless? That was probably the one word in the entire dictionary that he would never use to describe the woman standing in front of him. She was always the smarter of the two, he’d like to think, and she always seemed to know where her head was in life. He, on the other hand, well he fit the description of reckless pretty much to a tee. The mere horror that his fiance could be pregnant was almost enough to make him stop having sex with the woman. What if she wasn’t pregnant but become pregnant some time soon? Dear God, he’d fling himself under a rhino and let it trample him to death. ”Thals, wedding planning sort of sounds like something the mob should deal with.” All those secrets and hidden things. He didn’t like it. Out of all the things that Thalia had said to him, that had to be the worst. It felt like she just punched him in the gut. All he could do was stop and stare at her for a moment. He really deserved it, he knew he did, but it still stung lung hell. ”Thals...” he said, somewhat helplessly. ”It’s been over five years,” he said quietly, watching her hurry away from him. God, he felt like an idiot. He shook his head, tossed the ice cream back in the freezer, dropped the other stuff on a random shelf, and left. His fiance could get her own damn ice cream if she wanted it. words: 498 - tagged: thalia - notes: new thread for them maybe?

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300] OUTFIT | BETH AS FLETCHER | NEW THREAD SHALL BE COMING UP ASAP! Thalia chuckled and rolled her eyes at Fletcher as he told her he would simply throw the snakes at the men. "Right. Okay. You win." She shook her head. Ridiculous man. She loved that about him, though. That creative mind of his.. stop that. She shook her head and looked back up to smile at him again so he couldn't notice her silence. Of course, she could most certainly deal without his trying to make her blush constantly, because it always worked and it was embarrassing, honestly. She smacked him lightly on the shoulder and pursed her lips when he grinned. "Jerk." Thalia whined, holding back another laugh. Thalia narrowed her eyes and smirked in satisfaction as she was told that he found bad girls to be sexy. Even though Thalia was technically far from it. He didn't have to know that though.. not yet, anyway. Of course, no one who knew her personally would back her up on that story. She came across as more of an innocent than anything else to most people, it seemed. Whether she really was or not. Ooh. But she'd struck a nerve, just as she'd suspected. A small, contented smirk found it's way on her face as he defended his fear. "Anyone? That's a generalization too, unless I'm mistaken." She pointed out, raising her eyebrows right back at him. Okay, so reckless wasn't even close to her middle name. Thalia was technically her middle name. But there were very few people who knew that fact who weren't related to her, and anyone who really did call her by her first name were likely in danger of Thalia breaking her "ladies don't hit" rule. Because even her idol Audrey Hepburn was allowed to hit people every once in a while, if they really deserved it. Her use of the word reckless was so far out of reality it was almost funny. She only smirked again when he told her that planning wedding should be dealt with by the mob, and shrugged slightly. "Probably. And you thought you had a dangerous job." She looked back at him meaningfully. Okay, so it really wasn't that bad. Except for maybe the ceremonial holding of the dress while the bride peed. That and when they actually did turn out to be pregnant and they threw a fit and Thalia got caught in the middle of it. But she had gotten very good at calming them down. Even though Thalia had meant every word of what she had just said, she felt terrible about it from just the look on his face when the reality of her words hit him. She partly wanted to take it back, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. She wasn't about to take back the truth, something she'd been holding back for five years, as he stated. "I'm so sorry." She managed to whisper hoarsely as she turned and ran like a little girl away from him. Lord, she'd really screwed that up this time. Now he'd probably never want to see her again, but wasn't that what she was going for? Less heartbreak if she never saw him again, right? How could she be so stupid?
