-- BORN LEADER: Often, Brandon likes to think of himself as a born leader. He often tries to take charge of his detective squad, which often lands him in trouble with his boss. He often asserts himself to take charge, even in circumstances where he has no clue what he is doing. Even if no one else in the group wants him to take charge, nothing can stop him from standing up straight and barking out orders. He loves to be at the front of any line and takes great pride in being the leader of a winning team. Often his leadership involves the exclusion of other people but that has never really worried him before. Most of his groups, whether they are friendship groups or to do with work, are usually quite exclusive and Brandon makes sure that everyone in that group sits well with him. If he doesn’t like you, then he will make it known, and Brandon usually gets his way.
-- PROUD: A leader always seems to carry around pride with him. Brandon is no exception to this rule. He is a very proud man and this trait usually gets in the way of everything. That old saying ‘swallow your pride’ has no effect on him whatsoever. There are only a small group of people that he would ever swallow his pride for and even then, he may not in the end. He is always boasting of his various talents and triumphs and tries to make it the topic of many conversations. To him, pride is everything and it runs his life. He will keep his pride no matter what and so far, he has stuck to that completely with only one exception. B2 is the only one that has ever seen him drop the pride act however no one else has managed this feat just yet.
-- INTELLIGENT: That’s right, when Brandon wants to be, he can be a very smart guy. Sure, he is not scientist or mathematician but his job does also require a lot of intelligence. He has great deductive skills and a knack for remembering nearly everything about the crime scene. He has been known to memorize the every detail of a crime scene. He believes that this will help him solve the crime in the easiest and fastest way possible. Most would say that he would have been the top of his class at school had he tried just a little harder. Even during high school he was never really bothered and was simply seen as a delinquent. And yes, he is very good at what he does. Occasionally, when he shows of his intelligence, he does get on the nerves of many of his co-workers, but as mentioned previously, that does not really bother him. Luckily for the world, Brandon is using his intelligence to solve crimes and make Capeside a better place.

On September the twenty seventh, a baby boy was born. His name was Brandon Noah Cahill. He was named after his great, great grandfather although the child never knew him. He was born in Houston, Texas and even at a young age he decided he wanted to leave, for reasons that not even he particularly knows. He was eventually the oldest of three children, the middle being another boy and the youngest being a girl. The middle child, Harry, and Brandon were only three years apart and got along very well. They often played together however Brandon always wanted to take charge and be the leader, something that Harry was not very happy with. Lucy, the youngest, was very small and quiet and simply liked to watch the two boys bicker.

Brandon’s father, Andrew, was not a very nice man. He was a big drinker and had obviously not hung out with the right crowd during his own adolescence. He often came home drunk and tired and took his anger out on Brandon’s mother, Casey. Brandon was young, only about six or seven, when he first saw his father hit his mother. He certainly did not like that; he also did not like it whenever his mother cried. Brandon silently wondered whether his father would soon turn on the other children and start taking his anger out on them. So from that age he decided that he would protect his mother and his sibling from his father. Of course, he could not do this whilst he was only young and small, so instead he made those plans for when he was older and could carry them through.

When Brandon reached the age of fourteen he started to fight back. His father had been away for a few weeks, for reasons that were never revealed to any of the children. As soon as Andrew got back it was evident that he was drunk. He was talking to Casey about something and obviously said something that upset her because the next moment she was screaming and he was making a grab for her. Brandon heard the shouts and told his younger siblings to stay in their rooms. Running down into the kitchen he tried to wrestle his father away from him mother. A fight ensued but luckily Casey had sense to call the police. They managed to separate Andrew and his son and they took Andrew away whilst Casey tried to comfort her children. His mother filed out an AVO and his father simply never came home. Brandon did not see him again and he was glad of it.

The high school years went by quite quickly for Brandon. He made a friend in Houston who he knew he would never forget. Most assumed that the pair were brothers and they often liked to pretend that they were. Both had names beginning with ‘B’ and so that is how the nickname B1 came about. Brandon insisted he was B1 as he always liked being the leader, not that the Bananas in Pyjamas have a designated leader. Either way, Brandon still asserted to leading his pack, even if it was just the two boys.

After high school, Brandon decided he wanted to be a detective. After everything he went through with his father, he simply wanted to make sure that he could help catch more criminals and protect everyone else. His training soon led him to make the move to Capeside. The detective squad at Capeside police department needed more detectives, mainly ones who dealt in the same specialty as Brandon, domestic violence. There were not too many people who specialized in this branch of detective work and so Brandon farewelled his B2 and family and headed to Capeside.

Since then, he remains at Capeside and is now on his way up the ladder in his squad. He has continued to study the other specialties for he strives to become one of the best detectives he can be. Of course, he is no Sherlock Holmes just yet.
