-- LOUIS CORBIN DAWES !
-- NAME: Louis Corbin Dawes -- NICKNAMES: Louis, Louie, Big D -- AGE & BIRTHDAY: Twenty-Four, July fifth, nineteen eighty-seven -- BIRTH PLACE: Capeside, MA -- ORIENTATION: Bisexual -- OCCUPATION & SCHOOL GRADE: President of the Dawes Corporation -- PLAYED BY: Clark Mallone
-- PERSONALITY !
-- CHARISMATIC: When Lou gets an idea in his head, it's hard to get his ball to stop rolling. He's expressive and passionate in all the best ways, his sheer enthusiasm carrying him through many situations where most would flounder or fail. He's not afraid to really sink his teeth into a project, and he's especially comfortable reaping the benefits of that work. Lou's happy-go-lucky attitude saves him from being too much of a workaholic, so it's definitely one of his virtues. -- EASYGOING: Forgive and forget is one of the sayings Louis lives by. He's not one to hold a grudge or judge based on looks. Amicable and happy in most any social circle, he just wants to be everyone's buddy. Be your female, male, poor, rich, white or black, he's perfectly fine with just about everything. Very little can ruffle his feathers, but even if you manage to find something that does, he likely won't make a production of it. -- BRILLIANT: As Louis was raised in the wealthier portion of Capeside, he received the best education around. Hours of grueling private tutoring and the remarkable talent to calculate the sum and product of just about any set of numbers in his brain, Louis turned out to be quite the young Einstein. His father had him working the numbers for the Dawes Corporation before he was out of his teen years. -- COCKSURE: Between his unparalleled intelligence, good looks and wealth, Louis has quite a bit to be proud of. And be proud of it he is. A little too much, in fact. He thinks his wealth makes him impenetrable; invincible to all evil. His supreme confidence can be a virtue in some cases, but this spoiled heir takes it a bit too far. Since he only has average intuitive abilities, his arrogance has, on more than one occasion, led him into making poor choices for both himself and his company. Not that he's a total doofus. It just doesn't register in his mind when a smart decision needs to be made-- which for him is constantly. -- CHILDISH: Though he's got a calculator in his brain and a good, responsible face to flash to the public, Louis is really just a kid in a man's position. This goes along with his cocky bits; he often makes stupid, clumsy mistakes that have a huge affect on more than just himself. Louis has yet to realize that his decisions have a larger impact radius than that of a normal twenty-four year old, and it's important that he figure it out soon, or his playing games with stocks and his personal life are going to be his downfall. -- IMPULSIVE: When you give a kid a few million dollars, what do you expect him to do, invest it? Probably not. Be it money, women, his personal image or his company, Louis is pretty quick to chuck caution out the window. It's pretty simple; he just doesn't have a lot of forethought.
-- LOVES: cooking, coffee, mexican food, video games, shopping, sports, partying, card games, dogs, sailing -- HATES: working, waiting, the opera, cold foods, cats, hangovers, having to be responsible, cleaning, closed-in spaces, being ignored
-- HISTORY !
Born to Mary Ann and Jameson Dawes in mid 1987, Louis was the love of his parent's life; the apple of their eyes. They spoiled him rotten, buying him the best of life in Capeside; the best in the world. Life for Louis was great. He spent his summers in Capeside, his falls in Spain, his winters in Colorado and his springs in Ireland. He couldn't have asked for a more comfortable lifestyle, more loving parents, or more happiness. However, this joy couldn't last forever. He was just thirteen when his father's real estate company, the Dawes Corporation, made scandal. Their stocks plummeted and employees were being fired left and right to keep the company afloat. Due to poor contracting and shoddy materials, a good dozen or so homes made by the company had been bought and then basically crumbled beneath the tenant's feet. It was an outrage, both to the buyers and to Jameson.
It took a few years and a lot of work, but Jameson Dawes saved his company. In this time, he grew distanced from his family. Louis celebrated his sixteenth birthday with out his father. In his time away, Jameson became obsessed with the well-being of his company. Instead of keeping his life and his job separated, his job became his life. He barely interacted with his son or wife any longer, and instead dedicated himself wholly to making sure everything in the DC was working properly and that nothing could go wrong. Though what he was doing was good, it hurt his family in ways he'd never know. In a ditch effort to be closer to his father, Louis began working for the company.
Two year later, just short of Louis's eighteenth birthday, Jameson had an unexpected heart attack. He didn't survive the night. The company, now president-less, floundered. In his will, Jameson had stated Louis the sole heir to the company and all that was a part of it. Of course, he'd intended for his son to take his mantle, but he never anticipated it would have been so quickly. Louis, only barely an adult, was lost with out the proper guidance to do right by his father's memory. Fortunately, Louis was a resourceful and intelligent kid. He made a homebase in Capeside, his favorite of his seasonal homes, and worked tirelessly to keep his father's business alive. Much like his father, he grew obsessive. Confronted by his mother, he realized he needed to step back, unlike his father. With the business prospering, Louis figured it would be okay to let go a little. Slowly, but surely, he started leaving the house to meet friends again. He was acting like a twenty year old boy should. However, his new behavior opened up a new set of floodgates. Louis became addicted to the lazy lifestyle of being a rich youth. In the two years since he'd inherited the Dawes Corporation, he'd forgotten how fun it could be to just sit back with a drink and a pretty girl. The company and its well-being started to get lower and lower on his priority list until it was just a nuisance, rather than a job.
Now, four years later, he's done a good job of keeping the company alive. Well... Sort of. For the past few years, the stocks have been on a steady decline and scandal about Louis's private affairs have been everywhere. News about his love life, his love of good alcohol and his poor choices in business are known by all. He has the ability, but he lost the drive to do well long ago.
-- SAMPLE !
Though Cullen couldn't place it, there was a song stuck in his head. As hard as he tried to remember the melody, he couldn't place it. Really, all he could remember was that one of the lines was "Hello sunshine,". Yes. That's the word he'd use to describe Lilac Bush, or whatever her royal majesty had deigned to call herself.
With every word she said, she grated on his nerves. She could have some common decency, at least pretend she knew who he was. What was the matter with her? Females fawned over him, damn it. Why wasn't she fawning? "Ouch," He said with a fake laugh, "You wound me with your brutal honesty. But, hey, I find it refreshing." Refreshing? Not so much. He found it overwhelmingly annoying. Her next words left him paused. She'd spoken his exact thoughts-- well, if someone had asked him a few months ago. Or a few hours ago. Or right now. Really, he was fine knowing that he worked a job that made him a tool and an ass. It made him money and got him in with the women. "I suppose it's true. It's not exactly a saintly career." Shrugging, he made a swing at keeping his modest, good guy charm about him. "I've always really respected lifeguards and surgeons... You know, people who actually save lives."
Cullen shrugged, surprised Luann had any form of sympathy. "I understand," He gave her a gentle smile. Heat at 20%, Charm at 110. "Modeling can seem like a shallow profession, but there can be something so... artistic about it." Cullen rubbed the back of his neck, as if he was being shy. Really, he was just reciting lines he'd heard other people say. "The lines of people's face, their bodies... It's real art, you know?" Posh. He thought modeling was bullshit.
Look at that! The girl was finally starting to swoon. About damn time. The look in her eyes, the hold of her hand was that of infatuation and... Cullen's spirits dropped. He recognized a fake when he saw one. He knew the act like the back of his hand. Looks like Lila hadn't bought into him one bit. "I like to think I'm quite a gentleman," Cullen said with a kind laugh, when really, all he wanted to do was to kick sand in her face. Damn it, she should be falling at his feet. He nodded, more then ready to depart from those... ladies, when they offered to bring him back to their flat and watch movies. And how could he say no as he saw that look of pure devastation cross Lana's face. Immediately, he said yes.
As they walked, he wrapped an arm around Laura. Smiling devilishly above her head as her friend flounced ahead, freaking out about how a supermodel was coming to stay with them. "I'm excited. Aren't you excited? I think you are, you delightful little munchkin." His words were slathered in sarcasm. God, he was so ready to just have a blast with her brain.
