-- BRODIE LUCAS HIRSCH !
-- NAME: Brodie Lucas Hirsch -- NICKNAMES: Brodie -- AGE & BIRTHDAY: Twenty-five, November 2nd -- BIRTH PLACE: San Diego, California -- ORIENTATION: Heterosexual -- OCCUPATION & SCHOOL GRADE: Currently unemployed -- PLAYED BY: Henry Cavill (orgasmorgasmorgasm)
-- PERSONALITY !
-- CYNICAL: When you've lived through the archaic circumstances Brodie has lived through (aka, parents marrying for reputations sake, etc), you begin to have little faith in the future. The concept of hope and dreams don't really exist in Brodie's world-- there are goals, and then there are his chances of reaching them. Luck, fate, human decency-- none of those factor into any of Brodie's equations for life. He simply doesn't believe they exist. If karma was real, he probably would be somewhere a little bit nicer than his run down loft in downtown Capeside. So, you'll have to forgive him if he's just naturally a bit... jadad. -- FAUX-TOUGH: Brodie isn't a tiny guy, so don't get me wrong when I say he's 'faux-tough'. He's plenty big and he's plenty strong. Thing is, despite his hard, mean outer shell, he's a total softy. Maybe it has some correlation for his love of animals, but he just can't leave someone in their time of need. He'll find a way to pin it on them, make it look like he doesn't want to help, but he always will. He may be good at fronting, but deep down, he's just a nice guy who likes watching rom-coms, playing with his dog and eating mexican food. -- INDEPENDENT: Life taught him how to look out for himself. Despite being practically born into wealth, he never felt comfortable relaxing in luxury. He always went out of his way to set up his own circumstances, make his own choices, just so he didn't feel like a useless blob. Though he was constantly being told to relax, after a while, he simply found he enjoyed not relying on other people, working things out for himself. He found the feeling of working hard and then basking in the after glow of that work was far more rewarding then just skipping all of the difficult stuff. -- RESOURCEFUL: Brodie's youth involved a lot of trouble-making and ner-do-welling. He tended to find himself in unlikely and often times difficult situations. Thus, over time, he developed quite a talent for using whatever was laying around to his advantage, be it in the form of an excuse or distraction. Now an older fellow, this talent isn't so much used for weaseling out of blame, but it does help him with versatility. Being resourceful makes him flexible and capable of change-- more than once, his ability to adjust quickly and adapt to his environment has gotten him a job or any other favor he was working towards.
-- LOVES: cats, cigarettes, hbo tv shows, old people, video games, leather jackets, motorcycles, spicy foods, looking through travel brochures, sleeping -- HATES: cliques, loud noises, coffee, computers, mornings, horror movies, reptiles, water (he can't swim), sour foods, commitment
-- HISTORY !
Born to Naomi Hirsch and Dallas Wahlberg, Brodie had the uncommon joy of being deemed a bastard. His parents were no more associates than your average courtesan and willing male, as it were. As Naomi was a poorly paid prostitute, she knew she couldn't care for the baby growing inside her. She hired a PI with money she'd been saving and invested it in tracking down the dad. Dallas, the only man she'd been completely intimate with in the past five months, was the only man she knew could be the father. Dallas Wahlberg was a wealthy stock broker who lived in Manhattan. He begrudgingly agreed to take in the child, knowing full well that it was his responsibility and his fault Naomi had gotten pregnant. Plus, if word of his lewd behavior ever got out, he'd become a pariah. Thus, he married the young prostitute and raised Brodie as his own. Brodie grew up as something of a trouble maker. His parents bickered often-- even from a young age, he knew of his mother's true past, even though she pretended to everyone that she was from West Coast wealth. She hated the charade, and more than that, she hated Dallas. In a childish effort to get attention and love, Brodie was constantly getting in trouble in schools, trying daring stunts or being all around reckless. In the end, despite how she loved her son, Naomi left shortly before Brodie graduated. She allowed Dallas to keep custody, knowing that she'd never be able to support a child on her own. It broke Brodie's heart watch her leave, and that day, something inside the young boy snapped. For his remaining year of high school, he spent as little time with his father as possible, even going so far as to sleep outside on some occasions. It was here that he met Oscar-- a young, mangy dog that was cut up and clearly abused. He brought it home, determined to care for it himself, despite his lack of know-how. He wanted to care for something in the way no one had bothered to care for him. This is what got the ball rolling for Brodie-- after graduating, he moved away from his father, to a small town called Capeside in Massachusetts and began studying animal physiology and medicine. He wanted to be a vet. Unfortunately, two years into his education, he was caught at a party in which cocaine was being actively used. Though he was a smoker, he didn't do drugs. All the same, Brodie and a handful of other Capeside college students were expelled for their affiliations to the party.
Over the past five years, Brodie has worked every odd job possible, from volunteer firefighter to auto-body engineer to a cashier at the local drug store. Though currently unemployed, he doesn't struggle financially (his dad gives him a generous allowance to stay out of trouble and he uses it solely to pay the bills). He still has Oscar, who is an old, mellow boxer.
