-- ROBIN MICHELLE WALLACE !
-- NAME: Robin Michelle Wallace -- NICKNAMES: Robin -- AGE & BIRTHDAY: Eighteen, September 23 -- BIRTH PLACE: Manhattan, New York -- ORIENTATION: Heterosexual -- OCCUPATION & SCHOOL GRADE: Senior -- PLAYED BY: Elizabeth Gillies
-- PERSONALITY !
-- COLD: Robin is quick to judge and comes off as cold to almost everyone she meets. Whether or not she knows you, she's probably not willing to play nice, and you always get treated in pretty much the same way. She'll snap at you without hesitation, insult you if she feels it's necessary, and sabotage you if she feels you're getting in her way. Your feelings are worthless, and the unfortunate truth is, she doesn't care about most of the things you tell her, so after awhile most people don't even try anymore. This little trait of hers makes her, quite obviously, disliked by many and it's exceedingly hard to get past, especially if this is the only side you've seen of her. She did grow up in this hateful kind of environment, however, so she likes to believe that she has an adequate reason to be this way, but it's not generally taken as an excuse by others.
-- HIGH MAINTENANCE: Boys, this here is the kind of girl that will take a lot out of you. She insists that you take her where she wants to go, drive her where she needs to be, and be around when she wants to come over. Perhaps, this could be considered needy, but she doesn't generally need anyone around, but simply wants it, and gets miffed with it doesn't happen. She expects you to have near tunnel-vision when it comes to girls and not be afraid to show that she's yours under any and all circumstances. PDA is practically her middle name. Robin tends to leave out one way most girls are high maintenance, though: she will not be paranoid about her appearance. You won't be asked if she looks good every two minutes, because she honestly doesn't care, and expects you not to, as well.
-- COMPETITIVE: When it all comes down to it, competitive is almost an understatement. Robin likes to win, and she'll do nearly anything to do so. If it means leading you on and pretending that she likes you, just to shoot you down later and crush your dreams, then so be it. If it means helping you up after you 'trip', then that's fine, too. She sees nothing wrong with sabotage. How many people actually get famous by playing it fair, anyway? Not many. To her, it's all survival of the fittest, and she likes to believe that she'll, in the end, be the fittest, even if it means breaking your heart and dragging you down.
-- LOYAL: Being fiercely loyal is something that next to no one expects out of her, but it's undeniably there. If she genuinely likes you - which is a pretty rare occurrence, in and of itself - she'll go to great lengths to make sure your relationship with her stays in tact, even though she's been known to sometimes take this too far, which will make friends a tad angry with her. But, she understands that has very few people that she can trust, so she keeps what she has, and wouldn't dare throw it away. Or, not intentionally anyway, but she can't make any promises about accidents. Boyfriends are also the same story. If you're hers, that's it. She won't go off and do so much as bat an eye at another guy.
-- CONFIDENT: Robin is insanely comfortable with herself, which is quite visible when you see her attitude. She doesn't seem to care what anyone else thinks about her, and as a result, feels free to express herself however she pleases. As an aspiring actress, she considers her confidence an amazingly important factor regarding her work, for it allows her to be more bold and fearless, and enables her to stick with her own opinions and ideas rather than going off and seeking out what others want or crave. This is one thing that others will actually count as a pro, for she doesn't usually let it get to the point where she's arrogant.
-- LOVES: old movies, acting, theatre, live music, black coffee, attractive men, lemonade, winter, being the centre of attention, green gummy bears, fashion magazines, vintage cars. -- HATES: most people, blondes, meat, worthy competition, losing, overgrown grass, murky sea water, rain, swallowing pills, cooking, small dogs, white chocolate.
-- HISTORY !
Maybe Robin was raised a normal child, but she couldn't tell you, because she doesn't remember. She can't recall what she would assume were the happiest times of her life, for honestly, who remembers anything from when they were three? Or anytime before then? Her siblings, however, have told her that they lived nicely in Manhattan for the first three years of her life. Their mother and father - two wealthy people who provided a large living space for their children, despite the lack of space in the city - were madly in love, and even though they had their problems, they had always managed to work them out. It was... average at best for a long time, she thinks, but then when it was coming up on her fourth birthday, their mother left them after she and her husband had a fight. Her brother is the one who told her this, for if she'd asked her father, he'd just say that their mother was a slut who fell for someone else, just to make himself look better.
Not wanting to go on living in the same house that he and his wife once shared, her father decided to take the kids, pick up, and move to Capeside. Robin is able to recite most of the time she's spent here, and again, life settled back down. The lack of a mother figure bothered the older kids, but she couldn't even tell you what the woman looked like if it weren't for the pictures on her sister's nightstand, so she was the most content little thing out of them all. She went around like toddlers do, making friends with the kids on her street, and going through with childish activities like painting and school, and those short periods where she wanted to be a teacher, or an artist, or something along those lines that nearly all children dream of becoming. Happiness was the key factor in her life for awhile, and now that she's older she wished she'd savored it more, because when she was seven, her family rented a bunch of these old movies. She remembers the rain outside, how she was beyond upset about how she wasn't allowed to go out, and also how, after going through all the films, she completely fell in love.
And right then in there, with her little seven-year-old mind, she decided she wanted to be an actress. It was something that her father, along with her sister, believed she was going to grow out of, like most kids did, but as time progressed, her determination to be in front of the camera never faded, and this was something that unsettled the older half of her family. They came from a wealthy lineage of doctors and lawyers: people who were highly intelligent and went to ivy league schools before they had a steady income and a spouse along with a few kids. But Robin disapproved of this, highly devoted to fulfilling her dream, regardless of the fact that her dad began to consider her a disgrace and her sister thought of her as a hopeless dreamer - and not in the good way, either.
Her brother was the only one who genuinely supported her wishes, but she slowly began to think that being backed by one person, alone, wasn't enough, especially when she had two others shooting her down every chance they got. They tried to control her, convince her to change her mind, take away her freedom to do as she pleased until she caved. But, she never did. This vibe undeniably started to take a toll on her once bright, childish outlook on things, and she started to evolve into another person entirely when she was in the seventh grade.
Rebellion was key in this newly formed side of her. She'd sneak out, deliberately disobey, get facial piercings from some friends who could do it, albeit poorly, and buy hair dye where she could to change streaks of her hair to more vibrant colours. The plan was to show them how she could be, in hopes that it would force them into letting her have more freedom. She knows now that it was a stupid plan and it got her absolutely nowhere besides negative feedback. For the remainder of her middle school years, it all continued on as such, and when it was time for her to transfer into high school, she requested to be allowed to apply to a performing arts school, where she could brush up on her acting and stage presence. Needless to say, however, this suggestion was immediately denied, and in defeat, her father had her go into the local public school, instead of putting her into the private school like he'd originally planned.
Continuously, the negative vibes in her household crafted her into someone quite unlikeable and cold, although determined, as she still hasn't surrendered, and it doesn't look as if she will anytime soon, much to her family's disappointment.
-- SAMPLE !
"You know what? Screw you! I don't need this anymore." The shouting was promptly followed by the heavy slamming of a door - just on time. As if on routine, these were how mornings in the Hale household started: some fight between Robin and her father, which would ultimately end in her storming out through the front door. Today's argument had been about something along the lines of her complete lack of freedom, and how if she were a 'good daughter' she would actually listen to her father, which was countered by some remark about what he ever did to deserve a good daughter. It all ran deeper than that, but she didn't want to think about it for too much longer. She had enough trouble living it. "If the effing man hates me so much why can't he just let me leave already?" She grumbled under her breath. Robin's longing to find her own place, or at least live at school, was a topic of much discussion in her little family. She wanted to be out on her own. She was twenty years old, for crying out loud. Why couldn't he just let her leave him alone? Then she wouldn't be around to annoy him and he wouldn't be around to bug her. It seemed like a win-win situation as far as she was concerned.
Crossing her arms over her chest, she made her way down the drive and onto the sidewalk. They lived right on the outskirts, and it was only about a fifteen minute walk from their house to where the city actually appeared to begin. Even though robin wasn't a fan of exercise, especially if it held the risk of making her messily sweaty, she didn't mind as much when the weather was starting to cool down a little bit like it was now. Besides, she hadn't been able to get her car up and running for a week now, and there was no way she was asking her dad if she could borrow his. Convincing herself to do that would seriously put a damper on her confidence.
Anyway, she needed coffee. It was a morning requirement, and if she had to live out her day without her much needed amount of caffeine, she became an incredibly cranky person. Not like she wasn't cranky in the first place, so adding onto her already established rotten attitude was something that most would much rather avoid. So, after her journey back into the city, she was quick to find her way to a coffee shop. The employees were so familiar with her presence that they pretty much knew her by name, which made it easy for her to go about with minimal interactions with strangers. She hated strangers. They were always so nosy. That, or they tried to be friendly. Too friendly. When the day starts like it usually does for her, she's not in the mood for friendly.
Upon ordering her drink, which takes a lot longer to get to her than she believes it should - because, really, how long does it take for somebody to pour a mug of black coffee - she finds herself a table, where she sits alone. Hopefully, if she slumps forward and leans her forehead on the heel of her hand, the people passing by will get the idea that she's pissed off and won't make the mistake of trying to strike up a conversation with her. Even if they're oblivious enough to make an attempt, she could tell you right now that playing nice was not on the agenda.
